A card is included detailing your earring style preferences. Choose 2 among the following categories: total trendsetter, simple & sleek, classic beauty, funky & fun, and itty bitty. I chose to go with trendy, unique pieces and small studs!
September Itty Bitty, Iridescent Arrows - Value $8.00
This arrow style is right up my alley! I like how small and delicate these are, and I prefer gold to silver in this type of stud -- another plus. I also enjoy the opal-like iridescent stone in the middle. Their .25" width is pretty small, but these still feel a bit too substantial for me to comfortably wear overnight. I suppose that's the only thing I'd change I'd about these... making them a tad smaller.
These felt comfortable to wear, and I love that they're neutral enough to reach for every day.
September Total Trendsetter - Value $6.00? (based on similar styles)
I am all about a bold, statement earring right now. It's why I marked 'total trendsetter' as a preference in my style profile. However, there's something about these that just misses the mark for me. Maybe it's the geode shapes embedded in each oval, or maybe it's the black, ivory, and gold color combination in the first place. I'm still not sure -- I just know that these weren't my favorite. I do think that I can make them work with a simple black dress and maybe some red lipstick or something, so it's not like I won't wear them, though!
They hang pretty low but are still fairly lightweight for their size. It should also be noted that the design does not appear on the back side of each earring.
I couldn't actually find this style in the HangSquad. subscribers shop, so I assume that they've sold out. The shop works this way: Once each month's box is shipped, the styles for that month go on sale in HangSquad's shop (until they've sold out, that is). Subscribers are able to make purchases from the shop, and the discounted cost of each pair of earrings is one of the perks of membership to HangSquad. You may also add extra pairs of earrings onto your monthly shipment for $6/pair.
Verdict: This was my first box from HangSquad, and I'm pretty pleased with it. Both of these pairs are stylish, and they are inexpensive enough to not worry too much about losing them. That said, I do wish that the quality was a bit nicer. Especially with the trendsetter pair, I was expecting more. With both pairs going for about $14.00 together in the HangSquad shop, I wouldn't say that this subscription is a steal. The $22.00 cost of the box comes with the option to buy more pieces at a discounted, membership price. Considering the wide range of styles available to subscribers for only $6, this is a worthwhile subscription if you wear earrings frequently.
