Hoot for Kids is a box that will vary based on the recipient. When you sign up you will fill out a questionnaire about your child. Based on your child’s age and gender (or choice of a neutral box), your box will be very personalized. Therefore your box may look very different from mine.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Each item in the box was listed along with some information about the benefits of the toy and what areas they might help strengthen such as creative play, fine motor skills, etc.

Hoot for Kids September 2017 Activities Subscription Box

I always enjoy seeing a handwritten note in a subscription box. It makes the box feel more personal and shows me that this is a smaller company that really appreciates my business.

The activity card gave helpful tips on two games I can play at home with my daughter.

Maped Color’Peps Gel Crayons - Value $24.95

These gel crayons write so smoothly! They are a real pleasure to draw with and have a much bolder look than regular crayons. The carrying case is helpful for when we are out at restaurants and I want to bring something along in my bag to help keep the kids occupied.

Petit Collage In the Garden Coloring Book - Value $7.00

We love Petit Collage items; we’ve always found them to be high quality with a beautiful aesthetic. This coloring book is great for my three-year-old because the pictures are large and don’t have many frustratingly small details which her fine motor skills aren’t quite ready to tackle.

Yes to all things unicorn! My daughter loves the color pink, all stuffed animals, and unicorns. So this was a huge hit!

Petite Sweets Ice Cream Scented Erasers - Value $6.73

These erasers are functional and adorable. They have a delicate vanilla scent and each one is a different color. We had to keep the box which looks like a mini ice cream truck.

Petit Collage Ice Pops Memory Game – Value $14.00

Yay, another item by Petit Collage! Matching games are great for improving memory skills and my daughter never tires of playing them. This new version with brightly colored glittery popsicles makes a nice addition to our growing matching game collection. It’s a definite win for our family.

Verdict: We adored our first Hoot for Kids box. I felt that every item they sent matched my daughter’s age and interests. The total value of the box was $65.68 which is well over the $34.99 cost of the box plus shipping. Shipping for this box to NJ was $15.18 and pricey, so that is something to keep in mind. Hoot for Kids can be ordered as a one-off box and would make a great gift, and it can also be a monthly subscription.

Wow that’s a lot for shipping. I feel I can put something like this together for less than the price of the sub and shipping.

Cute things though, and things my daughter would use too

This is super cute and the toys/games look very well made. I wish they had something of this quality for 9 year olds.

Yes it really was fabulous! I thought it was heads and shoulders above those toy subscription boxes that just send blind bags.
