Hana Organic Skincare Gentle Cleanser, Travel Size - Value $7
I was happy to see a cleanser this month, even if it's only a travel size. I do a lot of flying and road tripping, so this small bottle will come in handy to toss in my toiletry bag. The cleanser itself is different than I'm used to in that it's really thin, like a toner, but has a slight oily feel. I'm used to more of a cream or something scrubby. It smells lovely due to its essential oil ingredients like geranium & neroli, but it doesn't foam to give you the satisfactory feeling that I like. Regardless, it did leave my face feeling fresh and soft. For me, I think it's just getting over the cleansing feeling I'm used to.
Hana Organic Skincare Gentle Toner, Travel Size - Value $7
After cleansing, you'll want to move to their gentle toner. I'm pretty new to toners and only use them once in a while, but this one has a lovely natural smell to it that would encourage me to use it more often. I think it's the ylang ylang that comes through the most prominently. Even the travel size they have included comes in a pump which is different than other toners I've used that come in a bottle you'd just shake onto a cotton pad. As soon as I spray this on my face, I do feel cooler and refreshed from the rose hydrosol.
Hana Organic Skincare Luxe Serum, Full Size 30 ml - Value $60
The Luxe Serum for face is the only full-size product included this month and probably the best smelling of the bunch! The serum is a super light oil to be used after cleansing and toning your skin. I only needed one pump in my hands to smooth over my whole face and neck, so this bottle is going to last me a long time. Recently I've been trying to figure out the difference between serums and moisturizers, and when to use one or the other. From what I've read online, serums are meant to help more long-term skin problems like aging or brightening, while moisturizers are meant mostly to hydrate and protect. You can, of course, find either that may have some benefits of both, but depending on what you're after, you may want to use a serum and then a moisturizer. Good to know! If your skin isn't particularly dry, you may be able to stop at this product, that helps facilitate cell regeneration when used regularly.
Hana Organic Skincare Eye Oil, Travel Size - Value $18
Finally, we have a relatively new product for me via subscription boxes, an eye oil. I have perpetually tired eyes with dark circles from lack of a good sleep pattern, and probably good ol' genetics. My mom was recently asking me for an eye cream, so I have a feeling I get it from her as well. Hana's website doesn't really say exactly what this eye oil will help with, but judging by the vitamin E ingredient, I assume it's meant as anti-aging since it can improve elasticity, and reduce inflammation. This oil also includes jojoba and rosehip seed, which hydrates, and are full of anti-oxidants. I'll have to use this for a while before I think I'll notice any real results, but am optimistic!
Verdict: This month's Pearlesque Box has a retail value of $92 for three travel size and one full-size product made with all organic ingredients for $39.95. I was most excited to receive an eye oil to add to my regimen, and the luxe serum smells like a dream. As always, it's a treat to discover new natural products that aren't full of garbage and make my skin feel soft and hydrated. I am also really into the fact that I receive a few high-end products instead of a huge amount of cheaper things.
