Wantable Makeup + Intimates Subscriptions Ending

antable Mens Fitness Edit September

FYI - Wantable is ending their Makeup and Intimates subscriptions in December:

Wantable Collections will no longer be available after December 1st.

Five years ago, Wantable set out to create a highly personalized way for women to discover new products. With the addition of curated Style, Fitness, and Men’s Fitness Edits, the Wantable styling experience has quickly evolved from a pay-before-you-receive (Collections) to a pay-only-for-what-you-want service (Edits).

Our Makeup and Intimates Collections no longer align with our mission to provide the highest quality products on a try-before-you-buy basis, so we are saying a fond farewell to those two categories in December. This wasn’t an easy decision to make but was based on your feedback and our commitment to providing premium curated apparel and accessories to an increasingly diverse clientele.

We will now be able to focus exclusively on providing our customers with handpicked Style, Fitness, and Men’s Fitness Edits and are incredibly excited for what’s on the horizon—more exclusive collaborations, expanded services, and opportunities to better serve all of you. Thank you for your support and feedback every step of the way. Your valuable notes and reviews have shaped Wantable’s evolution since the beginning.

What to Expect
– Subscribers will receive their October and November Collections as scheduled.
– Final December Collections scheduled on or before 12/1 will be shipped on their regular timeline.
– If your Collection is scheduled on 12/2 or later, please contact us by 12/1 if you would like to receive a December Collection, and we will ship your order within 1-3 business days.
– You are still welcome to return items from your Collections. If you need any assistance with a return, please get in touch within 28 days of purchase.

Sad. I got Wantable for a few months when it first came out. They sent me some great stuff and introduced me to some brands I’d never tried (or even heard of with some of them). I just happened to think of them and went to look up recent reviews only to find this post. Granted, the $40 price tag was high, but back in the day, they did a good job with what they sent me. I guess I am better off with fond memories though given the general consensus that they had gone down hill. 🙁

I’m gonna mis this sub, but the quality of the makeup and brands went waaaaaay downhill after a few years. I was hoping things would improve.

I am not at all surprised by this. I liked the Intimates box until they raised the price and lowered the number of items you got (I never got a coherent “look” as promised) and got rid of socks and tights. I canceled then and didn’t regret it. I’ve had ok luck with their fitness boxes, but their style box was HORRIBLE for me. It was super expensive jeans and t-shirts and other things that were way too casual for my job but way to expensive to just wear on the weekends.

Eh, I saw this coming. I knew it wasn’t good when the Intimates went up in price and the quality didn’t get better (and IMO, even though I was grandfathered in on price, the quality seemed to go down). I tried the makeup one and once got a product that was used – I emailed and the customer service was meh, and they offered to send something with my next box. Next box…. no extra product.

That sucks. Those were the two subs from Wantable that I had, and after a rough month or two, I finally found my groove with these subs, and they had started sending stuff that was right for me.

I wish I could say I’m sorry to see these go, but I’m not. I used to sub to both boxes (Intimates and Makeup), but the boxes felt very thrown-together without a lot of thought, or really any. As for my Makeup boxes, some of the products I received seemed old (no longer applied correctly / smoothly, or were brittle), and none were colors that I actually liked. I was somewhat happier with the Intimates box, and cost was the major reason I cancelled it, although I will note that the sizing was inconsistent too. With the prices being what they were at the end for these boxes, which was pretty high, the boxes weren’t really affordable for the casual box enthusiast.

I did get ONE of their fitness boxes, and ONE of their style boxes to try out. I was totally unhappy though – there were major sizing issues with both of the boxes I received, and the prices for the Fitness box were heavily inflated compared to what I could buy on Amazon. As far as the Style Edit box, StitchFix just did a better job for the same price.

I’m not exactly surprised by this. While I did get some things I liked via the Wantable makeup sub, I never felt like they were able to match me with what I had requested. Plus, the price was steep compared to other makeup discovery subs, since they sent full-size products.

Aw, I really liked their Makeup collections–found some great brands that way. Sad it will be ending…

Oh, that was a mistake. I’ll update that now. Thank you for letting me know. Sorry about that!
