When you sign up for Apollo Surprise Box, they will have you answer some questions to get a feel for your tastes!
You first begin with your gender. Too bad you can't skip this or have an "either" option. Who's to say what items are more "male" or "female" when it comes to personal preference?
You'll then choose which categories you're interested in (I chose Home Decor, Kitchen, Fancy Food, Outdoor, Beauty & Accessories, and Terrarium & Garden).
Then the styles you are attracted to (I chose Cute, Minimalist, Punk, Vintage, and Modern).
You will then choose which plan you want, and when you want it delivered before adding your shipping and payment info.
The first thing I saw when I opened the box was this nice floral envelope.
Inside I found a packing list and three cards detailing each item I received!

Glass Suncatcher with Feather Necklace in Honey Yellow - Retail Value $14.95 (or $10 through the Mariaela Etsy shop)
Very surprising to see something from an Etsy shop here, but I like that it's included! This necklace was handmade in Poland from tin and a metal feather that dangles from the bottom of the amber-like glass sphere. The 31.5-inch chain is quite long, so this is easily put on over your head without fumbling with a clasp. The necklace has a very mystic and vintage vibe to it, so I know it will make the perfect gift for my friend Kelly! This is more up her alley than mine, so I'm glad it came in a nice gift box as well.
City Monk Pyramid Candle by Soul Terra - Retail Value $34 (on sale for $24 as of 10/27)
This sea-blue candle smells SO GOOOOD! It reminds me of when I walk into an Anthropologie and sniff my way to whatever candle they have lit, which is usually something citrusy like this one. It's made of soy, palm, and highly refined paraffin, and has a hemp wick with a little metal swirl design on the front. I have to say I'm really impressed with the information they have on their site about this item, and they even include a time-lapse video of it burning (it says it has a burn time of up to 100 hours). It ALSO has a crystal hidden inside which really excites me since I've been crystal and gemstone crazed lately. The good thing is that this pyramid is huge (4.5 inches tall with the same size base) so it will last a long time, but I'm also not sure what to put it on to catch all of the wax. I'll have to look into getting a special tray unless I want to sacrifice a plate.
Funko Dorbz The Nightmare Before Christmas Sally Vinyl Collectible - Retail Value $12.99 (found here for $9.93 on 10/27)
This was a very unexpected item! I usually don't go for Disney movies but I'm a big Tim Burton fan and LOVED this movie in high school. I still love it and make sure to watch it at both Halloween and Christmas each year. I wasn't familiar with Dorbz dolls before this but found out that they're named that because they are "adorable" versions of the character. This Dorbz version of Sally is cute and squatty with a smile on her face among her stitches. She's about three inches tall and will make a great addition to my windowsill of cuteness in my office!
Verdict: This was my first Apollo Surprise Box and I am quite impressed! The candle was my absolute favorite and perfectly fits my interests, and somehow they knew I'd like the Nightmare Before Christmas figure as well! The necklace wasn't quite my taste, but I still thought it was nice and knew the perfect person to gift it to. Their listed values on two of the three items seemed a little inflated, but I feel like the value more than broke even with the cost, especially since shipping is free.
