And holiday items are coming to the Birchbox shop soon:

Now on to the items!

Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner – .25 ml Value $11

This is half the size of the full-size version! And it delivers exactly what it promises: A highly pigmented inky black line that does not budge!

Here it is swatched:

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Conditioner – 50 ml Value $3.85

As always, I appreciate when any beauty box includes the shampoo AND the conditioner! Thank you, Birchbox! This line is designed to help purify your hair and get rid of any product buildup.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Shampoo – 50 ml Value $3.85

Both formulas are free of silicones, parabens, or sulfates. My favorite part? The scent! There's a hint of grapefruit, and in general, these both smell clean, fresh, and light!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – 4 ml Value $6.10

This is a night treatment oil made with Squalane. It's paraben-free, mineral-free, and scented with lavender! I love this as a serum - it feels so decadent on my skin.

Comfort Zone Hydramemory Cream Gel – 8 ml Value $8

This product is new to me and I'm a fan! First, the sample is completely full! (If you've ever gone to sample a little tube and found it to be mostly air, I'm sure you can appreciate this, too!)

The cream/gel hybrid formula is super light, absorbs quickly, and gave my skin such an amazing finish - with no silicones!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $32.80 - that's great for a $10 beauty box. All items worked well for me this month, and I'm very happy with the sample sizes this month, too.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, as of today your first box will be the November box. (Tip: Check the image on the sign-up page. The box design pictured is the first month you'll receive.) You can't pick the curated box as your first box, but you'll be able to pick it every month moving forward.

Value Breakdown: At $10 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Eye Liner: $3.35
  • Shampoo: $1.17
  • Conditioner: $1.17
  • Midnight Oil: $1.86
  • Cream Gel: $2.44

Hey! I’m new to this and was wondering if I could pick the things that come in my box or do I just get what they give me?

I jumped on this sub last week, I think, or early this week, when you got 5 free extra products with a new sub. They took my money and nothing else. Does anyone know if my first box will be November??

I would think so. they also had this offer back in September, I think, and I joined then. I got the Birthday September box plus the 5 extra products. They are supposed to ship within 10 days, so if it hasn’t shipped yet, it should be soon!

Gosh, now I wish I would have purchased this curated box. Now I see what people mean when they say they felt “eh” on a box until Liz reviewed it. 🙂

I’m so happy to have chosen the curated box as I love the shampoo and conditioner. It works very well for my fine, thin hair.

I should be getting this box and it works out because my sister is obsessed with that eyeliner and I’ll keep the rest of the goodies.

I love the eyeliner and the cream gel! I ended up swapping the Kiehls for a hair mask that I adore. The shampoo was just ok to me but I liked the conditioner.

I really like Birchbox!

That shampoo is horrible!! It didn’t later well, or rinse out of my hair well.

Alyce

Usually, higher quality shampoos that are meant for clarifying purposes don’t produce much of a lather.

@Alyce – you’re right. That’s because this line of shampoo/conditioner is sulfate free. Sulfates are what produce the lather.

Liz Cadman

Oh no! Sorry it didn’t work well for you. 🙁
