4.5 overall rating

Cohorted Beauty Box is a luxe beauty subscription box from the UK - and they are now shipping worldwide! (Of course, I had to subscribe!)

This subscription comes in a box within a box, so the inner box is pristine and would be great to keep for storage:

Complete with ribbon!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Cohorted Beauty Box

The Cost: £35.00 + shipping for international customers (My total cost was £47.49 = $62.92 USD)

The Products: A mix of beauty + makeup items. (Cohorted hasn't made any full-size guarantees, but from what I can tell you'll receive at least a few full-size items each month.)

Ships to: UK and worldwide! (FYI - shipping is free to the UK but extra to other countries.)

Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add Cohorted Beauty Box to your wishlist!

When you first open the box, you'll see some offer cards:

These are for UK subscriptions that don't ship to the US, so I moved right to the info booklet:

This booklet features details on all the brands included:

Very fancy! Now, on to the items! First, a bonus item I got for signing up with coupon code COHORTEDGIFTME (no longer working):

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Color in Maya - FULL SIZE! Value $28

(Since this is a bonus item for new subscribers, I won't count it toward the overall value.)

I love this formula! It's creamy, moisturizing, and glides on so smoothly. The pigment is perfect for my lipstick preferences, too. (You can get medium to full coverage depending on how much you apply.)

This Maya shade is a warm, bright red. Normally, this is the type of shade that I shy away from, but I liked the medium coverage finish!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Smith & Cult Lip Lacquer in The Warning – Value $22

Smith & Cult has the BEST packaging! I love their nail polish and lip gloss. (And their formulas are good, too!)

(The only reason I'm not super excited about this lip gloss is that I've received this in the September 2016 POPSUGAR Box, and then again in POPSUGAR Mystery Boxes.)

The formula has a ton of shine, a little shimmer, and you can build it out to a bold red, or use only one swipe for a more subdued look. Here it is swatched above the lipstick:

Hydra-Active Smart Nutrient Vital Moisture Day Cream - FULL SIZE! Value $35.84

This day cream is lightweight, lightly scented, and absorbs almost immediately. I love how soft it made my skin feel, too!

Benefit Roller Lash – .1 oz Value $8

I’ve already sampled this mascara from Benefit and I’m a fan. I’m able to build a lot of volume and length without any clumping on the lashes. It’s my go-to backup mascara if I’m out of Tarte! 🙂

Lica Cole Set - Value $30

(This value is based on the listed value from the booklet - the Lica Cole website isn't set up via Shopify at the time this review was written.)

There is no sizing listed for these jars, but I'm estimating they are about half an ounce each.

Lica Cole Organic Cleansing Smoothie

I liked all of these products, but out of the three, I probably liked this one the least. This natural scent is fab, but it's not a lathering body wash, and it didn't leave my skin feeling moisturized, either.

Lica Cole Organic Polishing Paste

This body scrub is made with Matcha green tea and smells so good! The formula is great, too - not too oily, but still gives you some moisture. I just wish I had a larger sample!

Lica Cole Organic Whipped Butter

I saved the best for last! This whipped body cream feels so luxe on my skin! (And the citrus/fruity scent is perfection.)

In all, I'm really glad I got to sample this brand. BUT - I can't see how these samples for body skincare are worth $30.

Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Eye Shadow Palette – Value $34

This is an item I already have thanks to subscription boxes (BeautyCon, POPSUGAR Must Have Limited Edition) so I wasn't too thrilled to see it in the box. It's a good palette, though.

This palette has a magnetic flap closure and a combo brush with a blender brush on one end and a liner brush on the other end. There are 6 matte and 6 shimmer shades.

I'm not a makeup expert, so I love when palettes include guides!

Here are all the shades swatched:

The pigment is good! (Some of the lighter shades don’t show up too well on my skin, but will work great as base shades.)

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $130 (not counting the bonus lipstick). I paid about $63 (including shipping to the US), and I'm happy with that value. Of course, this is an even better deal if you are in the UK and get free shipping. I'm happy with the sizes included, (lots of full size) and this seems to be a good mix of makeup and skincare. (Great brands, too!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, if you sign up this month, your first box will be next month's box.

Value Breakdown: At $63 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Smith & Cult Lip Gloss: $10.66
  • Day Cream: $17.45
  • Benefit Mascara: $3.88
  • Lica Cole Set: $14.54
  • Palette: $16.47

I think overall if you are UK based this box makes since beacuse the value ($35 uk) is there but for after paying $62 (exchange rate and international shipping) for a few months the value is not.

I love Cohorted Beauty Box, but after seeing more US based products I “un-subed” because I can get them here through other subscriptions. Cannot wait till they go back to UK/Europe based beauty products.

How did you cancel? I couldn’t tell how by their site. thanks!

Their cancellation subscription is confusing. If you go month-to-month you have to cancel by 5pm on the last day month before the 1st of the new month. I cancelled 3 days before the month to be safe and sent an email. If you suscribed with yearly, quarterly or whatever the cancellation policy is more confusing. You have to cancel within a different time period and the refund process is confusing too.

Hi, does anyone here have any idea how to get a hold of anyone from Cohorted? I actually paid for 2, (TWO), of these boxes and never received them! I have reached out to them multiple upon multiple times and ways and have been unable to reach anyone from this company regarding either sending me my boxes or giving me a refund!!! I would appreciate any help I can get here as this was a while ago when this happened and I pretty much have just given up on it due to not being able to get a hold of them in any way! =/

I’m not sure. I heard this was a problem for some. Upon this review, I decided to peruse their site again, and their contact info (along with how to cancel the box) was something I think I couldn’t locate. Maybe it’s best just to issue a chargeback with your card, and provide them the emails you sent to Cohorted.

These products are so last year..Where the metallic lipsticks, the high lighters, metallic eye shadows? New fall colors?

I actually tried purchasing this box, and after not receiving it looked into the reviews on youtube…apparently this box has gotten some pretty bad reviews…horrible customer service and products which aren’t up to date or popular whatsoever. Not to mention, apparently they give a false impression of what the actual worth of the box is…they send a sample of an item and list the full size item price in terms of the box value.

Negative reviews was mostly what I saw when I followed this box when it first launched. I was excited to see this review, as I was so hoping their curation & service had changed by now. Too bad.

Hi Liz, if you liked this box, you might want to look into Look Incredible as well for comparison purposes (they’re the same price at 35 GBP).

I subbed for only 3 months earlier this year, and really enjoyed it (I plan on re-subbing next year 🙂 ). On their website they sell “Previous Beauty Box Products”, which gives potential subscribers a good idea of the types of full-sized items they can receive.

They also recently launched what they call an even more luxe box called “My Secret Box” for 65 GBP, but October’s box is already sold out. It included full-sized products from Perricone MD (2 items), Smashbox, Gucci, Tarte (your favorite mascara!), & Kiehl’s.

Thank you for this information! I saw on Look Incredible Homepage that they really put interesting products into their box. I was looking for a high end box, hence looked up cohorted, and then was shocked by the reviews. But Look Incredible since to be quite honest and not a scam?

I would expect more brands that are rare here in the US. Pass.

nelliebelle1197

They are quite possibly brands that are hard to get in the UK since that is the primary market.

That’s what I thought too. For a box like this, which ships to the US, I would want brands that are hard to get here. These are quite common in the US so while the value is there, it’s not really what I would expect from a pricey international box.

It’s a nice enough selection…but I already have almost everything in this box that I received in other boxes. I was expecting some of that nasty Manna Kadar junk as well. This one is a miss for me.

Pass !

Lot of repeats from other boxes, which makes it an easy pass. Surprised for a beauty box (that isn’t natural or organic) that this doesn’t have a better value.

I worked at a Macy’s seasonally last Christmas and we sold this in our discount store for like 5 dollars. I’m so underwhelmed when sub boxes try to pass it off as luxe.
