Bella Adele Co Book Shelf Art Print, 8 x 10 - Value $12

This 8 x 10 print from Bella Adele has a watercolor style design of all sorts of multi-colored books on a shelf. It reminds me of my friend Amanda's house, which is just floor to ceiling books in her living room. I think I'll pass this on to her since she clearly reads way more than I do!

Bella Adele Co Blue Foral Notebook - Value $6? (similar linked)

Another item from Bella Adele comes in notebook form. A metallic gold badge on the cover clarifies that it contains 48 lined pages for you to fill up with business ideas, to do lists, or maybe just what you did that day. Delicate blue watercolor flowers cover the front and back of this slim writing catch-all. I am completely overloaded with notebooks due to my stationery obsession, so I will most likely pass this one on.

Bubbles & Books Soap - Listed Value $6

I'm a practical gal and soap is always something that's needed! This particular rose-scented bar comes from Bubbles & Books, which is another subscription box that delivers bath products and steamy novels to enjoy while relaxing. It's made with a bunch of wonderful natural ingredients like soybean oil, oatmeal, and contains actual rose petals! (Check out our recent review of Bubbles & Books)

Make Your Idea Matter by Bernadette Jiwa - Value $6.99

Austrailian Business Blogger Bernadette Jiwa comes to us with ways to make your entrepreneurial dreams actually stand out and become a success. The book contains over 60 different aspects of starting a business and making it work. Ranging from topics like "How to make your message stick" to simple lists like "Nine elements of the perfect pitch", she optimistically approaches all sorts of dos and don'ts of fostering your idea. Out of 115 reviews on Amazon, this book has 4.5 stars, so it sounds like she knows what she's talking about. This looks like a great easy read for ladies who want to be their own Lady Boss.

Felt Heart Shaped Bookmark - Value $3

Gosh, this is such a cute bookmark. I haven't seen anything like this before. The pink and mustard colors are surprisingly complimentary as well and the heart fits snuggly around the corner of the page where you left off.  Too cute!

Sole Serum - Value $19.99

Even though I don't wear heels, I've broken in my fair share of leather shoes that dig into my heels or rub against my ankles. Even standing or walking in flats for long periods of time without padding can really fatigue my feet. Sole Serum boasts up to two hours of relief with just a couple pumps rubbed into painful spots. I decided to give it a whirl to see how it made my tootsies feel. After applying the slightly mentholated cream on one foot and allowing to dry for 60 seconds, I popped my sock and bootie back on to compare against the foot I didn't apply it to. There is definitely a slight tingle and my foot feels a little less tight if that makes any sense. The bottle is slim enough to throw in your bag so you have it on hand when in need.

Lady Boss Leatherette Clutch Wallet - Value $4.98 (on sale from $14.98)

This small turquoise leatherette clutch features a strap to loop through your hand and a metal closure to keep it closed. Once opened, it reveals a khaki colored contrast color with three sections to carry slim items. The center section has a zipper for coins or bobby pins so they don't slide out. The back section has three slots for your credit cards and ID. There is also a back pocket on the outside which fits my smartphone. This certainly has room for anything you'd normally carry in your wallet but is slightly larger so you can carry it as a clutch. I'm not a big fan of faux leather myself, so this item doesn't get me too excited.

Lady Boss Satin Chrome Pen - Value $15.00

Pens are the loves of my life, so I'm glad they've included a substantially weighted one that makes me feel like an executive. The body is a ribbed navy satin finish with an unpolished chrome top with a clip that has been embossed with the reoccurring "Lady Boss" theme.

Cell Phone Charm & Detachable Key Ring - Listed Value $17

Although this can be pretty useful, this item doesn't scream "special" to me, and just sort of looks like an item from Things Remembered (which although is nice, isn't really MY style). The handle is a pink faux leather with white stitching and has a nice chrome buckle that looks sturdy which allows you to detach the two pieces. On one side, there is a loop that can attach to some cellphones (or cellphone cases), and the other side has a keyring with a metal plate that looks like it could be engraved but has been left blank (perhaps for you to get engraved?).

Beautiful Drawings of Women Adult Coloring Book - Value $9.99

The last item included is an adult coloring book of beautiful women. The illustrations seem to represent different ethnicities of women, which is refreshing to see. The bold black outlines make intricate patterns that surround each woman, so you can make each as colorful as you want. There are also pages with inspirational quotes as well to color in.

Verdict: The Lady Boss Box from Covet Crate this time didn't really resonate with me personally, but for $94.95 I received $100.95 worth of items to be a real bad ass Lady Boss. I noticed a few items seemed a little inflated in their booklet (like the pen and key ring), but the clutch was the only one I could find online to be sure. Everything else seemed to be valued on-point. The soap, serum, and bookmark will be getting the most use from me, and I will be passing the rest of the items onto women in my life who would appreciate them.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll receive the November box. From Covet Crate:

Boxes will be shipped by the 5th of every other month. Boxes will be shipped in these months: January, March, May, July, September, and November.

I think their first box was pretty sweet if I remember correctly. But I’m with everybody here. If you put this up to boxes in the 100 range or even half that cost it makes this box look really sad.

The highest-cost items, the keyring and pen, are the ones that look cheapo. What a shame that subs for professional women are clearly not put together by women who work for real corporate settings (like CPAs and lawyers, I’m mean – not someone in the magazine or Mary Kay industries).

It continues to astonish me that this box is still in business. The quality of the items included don’t come near what a $100 box should include.

It’s frustrating. I want to love a box that’s aimed at professional women. But the things they send seem a bit patronizing.

I will point out, though, that those “Lady Boss” items don’t feature their logo. Their name is “Covet Crate” and this is the “Lady BOX,” not “boss.” 🙂

It actually is the Lady Boss Box, even on their website. So, Lady Boss is kind of their logo…(I don’t like it either)

Agree with the other comments. For this price point, there should be at least one WOW item, and there’s nothing here like that. It actually seems like there are too many items – it all starts to feel like a grab-bag, not an exclusive, $95 box. Agree with Elise, too, about logos on products – those should be freebies, not part of the value of the box!

I do like the aesthetic of the box, though, and some things in here are cute. There’s definitely opportunity here if they can add something more substantial.

This box feels insulting. The contents are boring and the terms “lady boss,” “girl boss” and “boss babe” are embarrassing.

Pretty much makes me think this is more geared toward women who do MLMs, where those terms are notorious (my facebook gets littered with that trash). To me, they are just cringey, and I wouldn’t be caught dead at my actual professional job with anything with those sayings.

Agreed.

I find it funny that the first item that was spoiled (the clutch) ends up having a value of only $5. I’ve never found this box to be appealing at all, especially when put up against similar lifestyle boxes of the same cost. Not even close

For almost $100, there should be something special. This box has nothing special.

Also, I hate when sub box companies put their logo on items in the box. So tacky.

For me, this box just is not worth the cost. Especially considering what popsugar and Rachel zoe offer for the same price. I do hope that those who purchased this are happy with it though.
