This month's theme is "Ginger Pear". The back of this card lists out the items inside, as well as a little about what makes them special.

Druzy Cuff by Designs by Katie Leigh - Value $15.00

I love the raw stone look of druzy-style charms and embellishments. This one has a nice sparkle to it, though I wish the green tone of the stone was a bit bolder—I recognize that it's supposed to be a pear shade, but it's just a little pale for my taste. For being an adjustable bangle, this was surprisingly sturdy and comfortable to wear!

Set of 4 Savon Marie Pear Soaps, 4.5 oz total - Value $6.75

Aren't these so cute? These pear-shaped soaps are each about the size of a golf ball. They have a very light, blossom-y fragrance to them, and thanks to ingredients like coconut oil and safflower oil, they make for a creamy lather.

Naked Scrubs Lemon Ginger Bath Tea, 2 oz - Value $10.00

This scrub smells so good! It really is like breathing in a cup of aromatic, vibrant lemon ginger tea. It's perfect for a peaceful fall soak in the tub. I do wish there was a larger container—this 2 oz one will probably be enough for one bath, but that's all.

Delice Pear Whiskey Caramel Sauce, 1.5 oz - Value $4.00

Mmm! This caramel sauce is super tasty. The jar is teensy weensy, so I probably won't get more than a use or two out of it. But the flavor of the caramel is rich and just the slightest bit juicy (from the pear). It's been great on pretzels so far, but the info card recommends putting it on ice cream or even on coffee, which sounds great!

Dardimans Dehydrated California Pear Slices, 0.8 oz - Value $2.49

I've had dried apple chips before, but these pear chips were a great twist on that wholesome snack. I liked that these chips came in a convenient snack pack that I could take with me in the car or pull out at work. The flavor is similar to an apple chip, but with the more mild, earthy sweetness of pear.

3 Chimes Ginger Chews - Buy a 1 lb bag for $13.95 on Amazon

Chewy candies aren't my fave, just because they tend to get stuck in my teeth. (The worst!) But the ginger flavor of these chews was really awesome—it was the powerful, hot kind of ginger flavor I like in ginger beer. The info card mentions that these are great for curing nausea, so maybe I'll stash the two I haven't eaten yet for a long road trip I have coming up!

LIT Decor Bud Vase - Value $12.67 (Buy a set of 3 for $38.00 here)

This vase is really more of a squat, rounded jar sans lid. That said, it's very sweet, and the lace-inspired pattern painted on it is really pretty. I like the idea of popping a few jewel-toned flowers inside this bud vase and brightening up my fall coffee table.

Verdict: Fruit for Thought has a really cute concept, and I enjoyed the fact that they featured products from smaller vendors. While nothing really wowed me, all of these small surprises were pretty delightful—the soaps were probably the cutest, most unexpected pick. My only concern is that, after shipping, this box costs $47.99, which feels very steep for what I got. The box included $50.91 worth of product, not counting the three candies. It's not a deal by any means, but it could be a fun box to discover small brands that love the same fruity flavors and fragrances you do!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by the 10th to get the current box!

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $47.99 (cost + shipping), but I estimate that I got $50.91 in the box (not counting the three candies, which likely cost less than $1.00, if I had to guess). Going by those numbers, this box cost me about 6% less than what I'd pay to purchase all of the items at retail. Of course, after you add in the shipping it'd cost to order all of these small-vendor-made products, this subscription might even be a bit more cost effective than that (if you love the kinds of items they offer)!

Who doesn’t want to try whiskey jam? I am probably way to excited about that part. LOL I also, think that bracelet is super cute!

I love this box. It’s so cute. I’d get it just for the cuff bracelet and bud vase. And now I’m hungry for pear slices!

This was my first box of a 6-month sub. I am super happy with it! Fruit for Thought has such fun curation – they hit it out of the park with this one. Can’t wait for the next month!

Ooooh I want that Lit decor bud vase! I wonder if the pear shaped candles fit in there. It is definitely a box to make me get excited for pears (which I usually don’t lol). I think all the items fit well together and worth it for a $47 box.

I love this box! The real value is in the curation – the way they go out of their way to find a mix of things you won’t see too many other places, and tie it together with a theme. You almost always get treats, home items, some type of beauty item (although I’d love to see more of that), and jewelry or some other unexpected treasure. It’s just a fun box, beautifully presented every time! And when you open the box each month, look forward to amazing scents too!

And should you have questions or concerns, you can email the owner, Pam, and she goes out of her way to help you and make you happy. For me, when box owners do that, I’d rather give them my business, even if it costs more. There are too many out there that don’t care about their customers. Not only does Fruit for Thought offer great service, but they’re powered by Cratejoy, which also makes service easy.

I’m looking forward to dipping apple slices into that caramel! Or maybe pear slices, in keeping with the theme!

It COULD be a great box.I think if the bath tea and caramel were full sized it would be. If only one were full sized it would still be a good box. It is just too high for sample sized things.

Stefanie

Cute bracelet but the price for this box is waaaaay high for what you get. Mostly sample/tiny sized stuff. Bummer.

Those pear soaps are so cute I need them in my life! I love Dardimans (Rob Vices introduced me) and the soak with ginger looks divine. The bud vase is adorable.

I really like this box but the price is too steep for me right now.

Thanks for reviewing!

I really love the uniqueness of this box – it’s truly things you don’t get in other boxes (no black eyeliner or red lipstick!) and it’s really true to the theme each month. While when you include shipping it might not be the best value available, I feel I’m paying for the curation and the uniqueness, and that makes it worth it to me. I’m using the little vase to hold short-handled makeup brushes so they don’t get lost amongst the longer-handled ones, and it works perfectly for that!

LOVE that makeup brush idea!!! So clever. It’d probably work well as a catch-all for hair ties or other little items, too. Thanks for sharing!!!

I’m glad this box is being reviewed again. October’s box looks really nice.

That caramel looks especially yummy! I think this looks like the best Fruit for Thought box I’ve seen reviewed.

It’s a cute idea, but the price is pretty steep for what you are getting. However, it might be useful as a ‘one-time’ box if someone was hosting a fruit or veggie themed event and wanted coordinated, but not identical, prize gifts – or wanted a bunch of coordinated gifts to make a hostess gift, etc.

That bracelet is very nice though!

Anna Reilly

Ooh, yes – especially with holiday get-togethers coming up, I feel like this box would definitely make a great hostess gift. Or, if you got it for yourself, there are definitely items you could pull and save for hostess gifts, or small, yet quality presents for people who are hard to shop for (like teachers or coworkers or neighbors…). Great suggestion, Jenai!
