I appreciate that LuxePineapple included an information card describing each item and why it was selected. This month’s LuxePineapple box theme is “Be a Mermaid,” and it featured products from woman-owned small businesses.

The Sugar Shark Collection Bath Fairy Dust in Warm Vanilla - 4 oz. Value $4.99

(There are 4 fragrance options for this product.)

This bath fairy dust is infused with skin-loving ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and aloe vera. Plus it has a touch of gold shimmer - which didn’t really appear in the bathtub. I’m glad we are getting a little bit of a fall weather here in New York City, giving me a chance to try this product in a warm bath. As I poured about half of the container in my bathtub, it fizzed a little and released a light vanilla scent. I enjoyed the experience and I can’t wait to use the rest next time!

Natural Sea Sponge - Listed Value $5

According to the information card, you can use this sea sponge as a facial or body cleanser, or even for makeup application or removal. This sponge did a good job of lathering my shower cream, however, it’s just too soft for my liking. I prefer my usual konjac sponge more since I feel like I get some exfoliating benefit out of it.

Multi-Strand Tassel Necklace with Charm - Listed Value $20

I tried to find ways to make this necklace work but it just didn’t. The strands tangled, the tassel tangled, it didn’t sit on my decollete, and I couldn’t find any online images that could show me how to wear it. I’m not sure if anyone I know will like the style of this necklace either. Unfortunately, this item is a miss for me. 🙁

Madflowers Body Bronzer - Listed Value $11

This product is chemical-free, made with a blend of natural oils and henna extract. It has a light floral fragrance, absorbed quickly, and added a little bit of ‘color’ and a subtle glow to my skin. However, since I don’t usually use body bronzer, I’m not sure how this product performs compares to other bronzers in the market.

Mini Mermaid Banner - Value $5.50

This mermaid design is printed on a 2”x3” canvas and mounted on wood stretchers. It’s simple and well made, but it doesn’t really go with anything in my apartment so I can’t really make any use out of it. I might gift it to someone in our family though.

Verdict: This month’s LuxePineapple Post has a value of $46.49, which is almost twice the cost of the box. The product is well-curated to the theme, but unfortunately, the items were mostly misses for me, especially the highest value item from the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship on the 10th of each month, so it looks like you'd receive the October box.

Jira discovered the world of subscription boxes when she first moved to New York in 2017 (subscription box is not a thing in her home country!). Thanks to MSA, she's now subscribed to almost 10 beauty and lifestyle boxes, with FabFitFun, BeautyFIX, and Clean Beauty Box as her favorites. Ps. Her boyfriend thinks that she's only subscribed to Ipsy, so please keep this a secret between us ;-)

That little mermaid hanging is just adorable!! I may see if there is one on eBay.

Body bronzer seems a little out of place for this time of year. That seems like something that would be more useful in the summer.

I think this box is an upgrade to what I’ve seen lately. Nice items.

I like the theme, but the box would have benefitted from a stronger hero item. Maybe a seashell shaped compact or a shimmery eyeshadow palette? A simple seashell necklace would have been wonderful instead of the more complicated necklace enclosed.

Not sad I cancelled. It looks like a good box, I just don’t have a bathtub, I don’t use bronzers, and I don’t like gold jewelry. Just a miss for me, looks great for someone else though!

The whole box was a miss for me and huge disappointment! I had skin allergic reactions to the fairy dust product. The necklace was a nightmare and All went to the trash.

Little bit of an overreaction to just throw things in the trash, don’t you think? I’m sure there is someone who would have been happy to receive any of the items you didn’t like.

I cancelled and requested my money back right after ordering. I felt like it was going to be a huge miss. I wanted it to be great for a friend who loves mermaids, but I have never been envious of a Luxe Pineapple box.
