Each box comes with a fold-out card detailing the items included:

You'll also receive a $5 off coupon, which is good for beauty purchases in-store and online.

And just like Ipsy, with each box you'll receive a new makeup bag:

This one as a vinyl like pearl white fabric with a hot pink lining:

Now, on to the items!

LANCÔME Énergie de Vie Water-Infused Moisturizing Cream - .5 oz Value $16.15

This day cream is designed to give you skin hydration without being heavy. It's also supposed to help brighten skin and fix uneven skin tone.

I'm a fan of Lancome skincare in general, and this is another product I'll add to my list of quality Lancome items! It's moisturizing without being oily, and it absorbs so quickly. (I will use every last drop of this moisturizer!)

Elizabeth Arden SUPERSTART Skin Renewal Booster - 5 ml Value $11.40

This product goes on first before serums, moisturizers, etc. It is designed to help "restore the healthy look of skin’s surface layer, fortifying its natural ability to repair and renew."

It's a light, gel-like formula, that absorbs almost instantly. (It's scented, but the fragrance is light and fades quickly.) I haven't noticed any immediate results, but we'll see if I can make this little sample last a week or two!

Origins Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask - 15 ml Value $4

This mask takes about 15 minutes to dry, then you rinse off with water to reveal clearer skin. First, I love that this mask has no discernable scent. And second, I love a mask that dries and tightens a bit while you wear it - I like to think my mask is *doing* something! And the best part? It left my skin feeling incredibly clean and soft.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer - .25 oz Value $8

This is one of the first primers I’ve ever sampled and I still use it whenever I get it in a box! It’s a classic oil-free primer that creates a smooth base for applying foundation. (Not a new discovery/exciting beauty sample, but a good one!)

StriVectin Multi-Action Stress Defense Hydrating Water Gel - 10 ml Value $12.15

This is a water gel moisturizer designed to help plump your skin with moisture and give you a dewy glow. This is another lightweight, quickly absorbing moisturizer, and I really like the formula. BUT! Did it give my skin a dewy finish? Nope! Pretty matte over here! (But my skin tends to get oily throughout the day, so it's always best to start off matte.)

YVES SAINT LAURENT Black Opium - 1.2 ml Value $3.40

This is a floral fragrance with notes of Coffee Accord, Orange Blossom, Cedarwood Essence, and Patchouli Essense.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $55. I think that's good for a $15 box, and if you're a fan of quality skincare I think this box is a good one. (Sometimes it feels like Macy's sends out beauty samples that we've seen in subscription boxes for years, but this month was a good mix of old favorites and new discoveries for me.)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Currently, Macy's is in waitlist mode.

Coupon –  None available for this subscription.

Value Breakdown: At $15 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Lancome: $4.40
  • Elizabeth Arden: $3.10
  • Origins Mask: $1.09
  • Smashbox Primer: $2.18
  • Strivectin Water Gel: $3.30
  • YSL Black Opium: $.92
  • Makeup Bag - not counted toward value

I purchased the Macy’s beauty box with 40% offer. Every time, My time killed in searching for best coupon vouchers. Luckily, One day I found Dealhack coupon website which has the latest Macy’s coupons.

Do people know how long is the waitlist? 🙁

Has anyone found out, by any chance: can you stack these coupons at Macy’s stores?

I want to pick between Allure box and the Macys’ box. Which is better?

Reply ButtonReply

AF

Definitely Allure.

JuJu

I think with Allure you get much greater variety. Macy’s, so far at least, has been pretty boring.

Macy’s customer service is AWESOME!! My bag came with a black mark on it that would not come off. I emailed them and they immediately refunded my entire $16.24 the next day. I got a lovely email apologizing for this nor being caught at shipping. So impressed.

My Macy’s just put in a huge MAC counter. Hopefully we will get MAC next month. I love their primer.

I was really hoping for more from Macy’s, just cancelled but dinner it’s already past the 10th looks like I’ll still get the November box. So far nothing has really excited me for $15 per month, Sephora is just as good for 5 bucks cheaper and I’m finally off the Boxycharm waitlist and got my first box in Sept and LOVE them, so much more quickly for the price 😬 maybe if Macy’s improves I’ll return, just not excited thus far with the exception of the adorable bags each month but honestly I have a huge collection of bags lol

I don’t need the bags either and think this has been a snoozer so far….the best part has been the $5 off coupon. there was an earlier note about stacking…Macy’s coupons normally exclude cosmetics so I don’t thing that is an option. the allure box is much better…so is birch box although birch box has been just MEH for the past 2 months.

I don’t know if I will continue the Macy’s box…. I have the samples they are sending.

Can you stack these beauty coupons, though? I know you can’t online, but what about in stores?

clusby75

Ok autocorrect, meant *since not dinner, oopsie lol

I’m going to cancel my Macy’s and Sephora I think, and go with two Boxycharm subs. Macy’s is a decent bag, I think, but personally I’d be getting more value out of trying two Boxycharm subs, with all the variations now.

clusby75

I agree! Great idea on the 2 Boxycharm subs!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

For all you know, you’ll be getting two identical boxes every month. How can you guarantee that you’ll receive different variations?

carey

I think I am getting one more as I missed the cutoff deadline for cancelling. I think the value is there but geared for people kinda just starting their collections or those that haven’t been exposed to the items or brands before. Alas, I wanted to be in that target demographic but it’s just not for me. 🙁 I really really wanted to love this box but maybe I will revisit after awhile. Who knows, maybe that last box I didn’t want will wow me soo much I re-sub! lol

I’m on swaps if anybody is interested in anything.

With such a skincare heavy box what order would you use everything?

Reply ButtonReply

Bella01

Elizabeth Arden would be first as it states to use under primers. It’s like a super start booster. Then you would use a serum and then a cream or lotion moisturizer depending on your skin. Always remember to use the thinnest consistency first in layering your skin care. That might help you remember the sequences.

Christine

Exactly what I’m thinking! So many beauty boxes this month are skin care focused, more so than usual, that I’m really not sure where to start. At least I won’t be needing to purchase any skin care items this winter!

Love the bag this month : ) So cute. I use these types of bags in my ready to go bag, my travel bag, my car, hubbys car, my handbag, as well as organizing things in the bath. The samples could be a wee bit bigger. But I’m excited to try some of these new to me items!

Vanessa

I just subscribe because I think the bags are super cute. The samples are too small and they’ve been way too over done. The perfume sample should be deluxe size especially because Macy’s has such a great vendor hook up!

I agree the bags have all been very charming.

I’m going to be in the minority here, but I’ve been happy with my Macys boxes. They include alot of the products from my GWP days, still got a lotta luv for the Big 3. Plus the value each month is on mark.

I agree I love the Macy’s boxes!! They have awesome sale items that ship free to use your coupon with too!!

I just opened mine today and I am very happy with it. The bag is great quality again!

Too many moisturizers in one box! And I don’t even have to comment on the Smashbox primer, we are all so tired of it by now. Plus I am not a fan of Black Opium, like, at all.

I liked the Macy’s box initially, but this month made me unsubscribe.
