This month's theme is "Tex Mex" - Let's take a look at what's inside!
Tequila Basil Lime Caramel by Wildflower Caramels, 6 pieces - Value $6.50? (buy a bag of 12 for $13.00)
I love most things caramel, so I was pretty excited to try out this unique flavor I've never heard of. The caramels are so sweet and the basil, which really comes through, makes these delicious and probably one of the best pieces of caramel I've ever had! After looking more into the company, they have such great and unique flavors, I'll definitely be ordering from them very soon!
Signature Red Chilaquiles Sauce by Chilesquiles, 8 oz - Value $7.00
I love chilaquiles, so this sauce is a huge win for me in this month's box! This fresh made red sauce isn't too spicy, so I'll be sure to add some extra zing to it when preparing with either burritos or fajitas - spicier the better for me!
They also included a recipe suggestion, red chilaquiles with corn - sounds pretty delicious and I'll be sure to keep this around to make one day soon!
Vata Mexican Spice Blend by Medicine Woman Herbs - Value $9.00
This organic Mexican spice blend is another perfect addition to this month's box and is right in line with the Tex Mex theme! The blend is on the spicier side, which is perfect for me and is meant to enhance a wide range of dishes; I can really see myself adding this to different kinds of rice and pairing with chicken or other white meats - another win!
Tecate & Lime Beer Soap by Old Factory - Value $8.00?
I was unable to find this exact soap on the Old Factory site, so the value is an estimate.
This soap while not only looking beautiful, smells great, too! This limited edition scent is pretty unique and made with Tecate beer, which to me sounds a little strange, but still quite cool all at the same time. I'm not the biggest fan of bar soaps, but I plan to keep this in my bathroom for display purposes; it will look great and make the room smell nice!
Bloody Mary Mix by Barbeque Wife, 8 oz - Value $3.33? (buy a 36 oz. bottle for $15)
Another win for me in this month's box - Bloody Mary Mix! This small batch mix, which is made in Austin TX, isn't too thick which I appreciate; I'm not a fan of thick bloody marys. The spice level is perfect for me and the overall taste is VERY good, I can see myself buying more of this brand in the future!
Verdict: This was my second experience with My Texas Market and I'm very happy with this month's box! I think they did a great job of sticking to the overall Tex Mex theme, while still giving a variety of different products for me to try. The estimated value received is around $34.00, which is $1.00 less than the cost of the box. I'd recommend this box to anyone who likes the Texas culture and supporting small businesses.
