I forgot I have to pay 9.5% sales tax on this box. I am trying to get up the $ but I must have spoilers before committing to such an expense.

Would love to purchase but the price always gets me. I think I would like to go for the hers and his winter boxes this year! Would love to see a spoiler for this box though:0)

I’m looking forward to spoilers for this box but will hold off on purchasing for now. I wanted the chevron throw for the longest time and my husband was able to purchase one directly from Sanford Designs in black and white a couple years ago. I never realized the material was a stretchy knit. From the pics I thought it was going to be a thick type of fabric so I don’t like it as much as I thought I would so it has been displayed on a ladder all this time. I should clean it off and put it up for swap. I’m surprised Neiman Marcus hasn’t brought it back since it had such a good turnout for others.

Who am I kidding? I will be buying it. I gave most of the box away as gifts to my sisters and nieces and they liked everything. We aren’t polite in my family and if they don’t like something they definitely tell me! I just hope there is something in the box for me to keep besides the snack!

Too many places for $250 to go. Easy pass for me.

As always it will depend on spoilers but I think the only item I’ve ever REALLY wanted from any of the past boxes was the Mela tray. I am still hoping to get it one day. Hopefully they will have listened to comments and include more universal items that will work with and be appreciated by more people.

If it was all skincare, Id be in, but Im not paying $250 for overpriced trinkets and random home items when I can get similar cheaper items at Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx.

You make an excellent point. I do not like trinkets and random clutter my home items. And God forbid a freaking THROW! I am saving my $ unless it is more glam than a freaking throw and trinket boxes and junk food snacks. Thank you so much for expressing the very reasons I am not biting on this box without total spoilers!

If you read the official rules of the giveaway (which I always do lol) it says that the value of the First Prize is $783. So that’s the ARV of the box for those who like to keep track of those kinds of things.

Every year, I spend a minute thinking about getting this one. I would have LOVED receiving the first year. But every year after that, I would have rather spent $250 on something special for me. Unless the spoilers are amaaaaaaazing, I will likely pass yet again.

That’s just my thoughts exactly.

I am going to pass this year. I am going to get the LE box, Rachel Zoe Box and maybe Happy Rebel. And maybe the Nov and Dec PS Must Have boxes. I liked last year’s box a lot.
This year it is for financial reasons that I must pass. $250 is a lot of money to me. And I don’t throw or go to holiday parties.
I am excited to see what people get! 🙂
I must stay strong 🙂

I have always enjoyed this box and will probably get it. My Christmas present to myself.

Does the NM box generally sell out? Has it ever gone on sale? Thanks!

Hi! I think in the past, people have been able to get it at a discount on the NM website. Others can correct me if I’m wrong. For example, I think there was a 20% off code that worked on the NM website that applied and took $50 off the box one year.

I remember that now! Neiman Marcus put the boxes on sale but PS did not. I think Neiman Marcus had some in stores and put those on sale. It really annoyed a lot of people and for good reason!
Gloria
Yup! I remember that in 2014 or 2015 NM offered 20% at the sote and the box was available at NM bringing the cost to $200. I think last year they gave away a monthly box or something.
Althouhh I always love the contents of this box I rarely need anything that I dont have anymore. Therefore, I’m not buying subs anymore and if there is something that I really like I buy from ebay or from the store itself.
Only sub I have active is Le Metier de Besute and this year its been so underwhelming that I’m
Sure it will be my last year with them.
amyr
One time and it really made some people angry because Neiman Marcus discounted it in their stores but PS did not offer a discount . I think that it went down. NM offered $50 off. If I am wrong somebody please correct me.

It never has gone on sale. I think it has sold out in the past, but maybe not the past couple of years.

My heart says yes but after this year, my credit card is asking how many time I’m gonna put my hand back on the flame like I didn’t just get burned a second ago.

I have decided that I am going to get this box this year if I love the first spoiler. I have a feeling it will be good – keeping my fingers crossed!

I LOVED the first two NM boxes but wasn’t subbing yet when they came out. So I bought the last two. I also loved the the third box, but half of it didn’t work for me. Then last year’s was 100% a bust for me. I didn’t even like the snack. The only thing I liked was the beautiful Alexis Bitar bracelet, but it doesn’t look right on me.
So I’m gonna need several spoilers before I consider buying again.
Plus, cocktail party sounds like it might include barware and I have no use for that.

I would bite for $100 but 250 is easy to say no too.

Completely agree…$250 is too much for me unless I really like a couple spoilers. I’m willing to take a risk on a $100 box.

I’m glad this one is so expensive. Makes it easier for me to say no. I’m going to get the his/hers holiday boxes instead.

I love the Lunares bookends from the last box but I was able to get them from the Summer Flash Sale. $250 is really a lot especially when so many items are “exclusive”. Even with a total box value of $750, the first spoiler would have to be worth at least $200 in real RT value, not “estimated” RT.

Luckily for my bank account, these ones never appeal to me. Whew!

PSMH, you know we all just want a repeat of the chevron throw and slim & sage plates, right? Cocktail Soiree sounds … laborious. If I’m giving up 250$ I want to be lazy and indulgent, not have to dress up and make tedious little food items for people.

I always get the holiday limited edition boxes, including the Neiman Marcus collaboration. Last year’s box was not a home run for me. I was not a fan of the wishbone book ends or the wallet (would have been way better if it was a simpler, more universal design).
However, I was able to give the bracelet as a gift to my Mother in Law (who loved it), the candle to my best friend who is a big prosecco fan, and the makeup palette to my mom who likes trying new beauty goodies. I also bought a gourmet cake for a holiday meal with the Neiman Marcus gift card, which was a fun treat! The wallet and bookends are still stowed away in a closet, as they were not my taste nor the taste of any of my friends or family members. This is why universally appealing items are good choices for these end-of-year boxes (from a curation standpoint). It’s easier for people to give away items as gifts that way. Ah well … I’ll wait for a spoiler and probably order unless it’s a big miss for me.

If you decide to do anything with the wallet or bookends let me know! I actually really liked those.

Two Marie’s … what a coincidence! JoEtta, I will let you know if I decide to sell/swap. 🙂
Marie
I had swapped to get the bookends and wallets. Not sure if I want to purchase the box or try to swap for the items I like again.

Nope, no, not a chance, no way!! I wouldn’t pay $50 for any of the previous boxes!

Jenny
Nope. Most of them will eventually get to their mystery boxes

Lol! No Neiman items will ever be included in a $25/$50 mystery box.

Tamara
Nothing in the Neiman Marcus boxes have ever ended up in a mystery box.

I think I’m gonna pass on this one. It’s really expensive and in asking myself if I’d spend 250 on the items in the previous editions my answer was heck no.
