A fold-out informational pamphlet comes with each box, and it lists product names, values, and ingredients as well as details on how to use each item. This month's theme is 'rest,' and Therabox sets the tone with a quote on the front of their pamphlet: "There are two types of tired - one is in need of rest, the other is in need of peace." This box came at the perfect time for me, personally. I've definitely been having some sleepy difficulties lately!
Meditation Bunny USB - Value $9.99
This adorable 4GB USB flash drive plugs right into your computer and comes equipped with a meditation soundtrack 'aimed to promote sleep and relaxation.' The bunny's head glowed red after I inserted the drive into my laptop which was sort of funny. On it, I found 2 tracks. One is a 14 minute long 'body scan' meditation that focuses on relaxing each part of your body, head to toe. The other is a 'loving kindness' meditation at just about 9 1/2 minutes. I found the narrator's voice to be super soothing and the visualization techniques were really effective. I would suggest listening through headphones in order to really tune out the outside world before bedtime. Bonus: after you transfer the mp3 files to your device, you can use the remaining 4GB of space to store whatever you wish!
Brown Cat Cooling Sleep Mask - Value $12.99
As a cat obsessed individual, I definitely squealed after opening this paper packet. The cat eye pattern and attached ears are so cute! The eye mask comes with a cooling/heating gel pad that can be inserted into the mask through a pocket. When used heated, the heating sensation relaxes tired eyes to promote a restful sleep. It can also be used cold, which is what I opted for. (Puffiness and under eye bags are my usual dilemma.) Directions from Therabox:
Simply soak the gel pad in 90 degree hot water, dry it, and insert back into the eye patch! For cooling use, place the gel pad in the fridge/freezer until cool. The cooling sensation will assist with reducing dark circles and puffiness!
Your Tea Sleep Tea - Value $25.00
I was so thrilled (and impressed!) to see this pretty box of 40 tea bags this month. At $25.00, it's pretty substantial in both product and value. This black tea blend is gluten free and tastes delicious. Very herbal and soothing. It claims to improve sleep, reduce anxiety, calm the mind, reduce heat in the body, and hydrate the body. Your Tea also offers a plethora of tea mixtures like Tiny Tea, Skin Magic Tea, and Fertility Tea to name a few. Though it may be sort of gimmicky, I really love stuff that caters to a theme and can't wait to try more!
Sweet Dream Deep Sleeping Mask - Value $5.99
This lavender-infused all-natural sheet mask smells divine. As soon as I catch a whiff of lavender, I immediately feel like I'm in a spa, and the scent is strong here. The sheet even features a tiny quote about sweet dreams. Cute. Its soaked in a very creamy essence which is different from the serum-like formulas I'm used to with most sheet masks. After use, I found my face to be super hydrated, and I was definitely ready for bed. But mostly, the design of the packaging is incredible!
A Peace of Mind Love Meditation Body Mist, 2 oz. - Value $18.00
This mist blends a combination of essential oils with witch hazel and distilled water for use during meditation. In it, you'll find: sandalwood, mandarin, clary sage, jasmine, patchouli, geranium rose, and rose. A mix of musky, bright, and floral, all of these scents are right up my alley! That's why I was sort of confused as to why I smelled next to nothing after spraying. Even after shaking the bottle vigorously, I didn't get much out of this mist. I definitely would have preferred to have this mixture of scents in an oil blend -- maybe then it would have been strong enough to smell like something.
The EO Shop Be Joyous Essential Oil Blend, 10 ml - Value $14.00
Speaking of essential oils, this one is lovely. It has an herbaceous, green scent that's rooted in lavender but also includes clary sage, ylang ylang, marjoram essential oils and fractionated coconut oil. Perfect for keeping in your bag for a midday pick-me-up, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this rollerball.
Sincerely Different Sleep Balm - Value $10.00
This potent salve is to be rubbed on your temples in order to release a strong scent and keep nighttime anxiousness at bay. I've used Sincerely Different's Tension Balm in the past and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to try this variation. With its blend of German blue chamomile, lavender, blood orange and frankincense oils, the scent is really unique and more than relaxing.
Vintage Wooden Bookmark - Value $5.99
This intricately lasercut bookmark is really pretty. The wood is thin and delicate, so you definitely need to handle it with care. I usually just fold down a page corner in order to mark my place in a book, so this was a welcome addition to my bedside table.
Verdict: This was my second Therabox, and I continue to be super impressed with the assortment. I love that Therabox covered all aspects of the rest theme from face and body care to tea and reading. The box does a great job of creating a well-rounded full experience.
Value-wise, this month totals $101.96 and each item comes to an average of about $5.00 considering the nearly $41.00 cost of the box and shipping. This is pretty excellent given that the tea along was worth $25.00. I would say that each item outshines the $5.00 average by quite a lot!
I also really loved that this box featured exclusively Etsy sellers and other small business owners who created their own small-batch products. Supporting small businesses who feature natural ingredients is a total win-win. This box would make an excellent gift for a loved one that needs a bit of de-stressing, but it's also a nice way to give yourself a bit of extra care each month.
