The information card told the theme this month: Healthy Princess. It explained the STEM princess characteristic of the month: Strength. It also listed each item in the box and had a brief piece of literature about pediatricians and focused on the career of Dr. Aletha Maybank a pediatrician in New York City.
Characteristic Card
This month’s characteristic card is about strength. This card encourages your princess to reflect on when they felt strong.
Pink Princess Dress - Value $25.00?
The dresses that Tutu Royal sends are beautiful and have many details that make them feel luxe. This month’s dress was more simplistic in design but had such an elegance to it. I thought the folded over neckline was Audrey Hepburn-esque and the pleating and bow gave it a classic and timeless feel.
Headband - Value $7.00?
The headband this month had a glittery gold crown poised on the top. My daughter absolutely loved this headband!
Flower Pin - Value $3.00?
The rosy pink hued flower looked great pinned on the dress. It also had a small semicircle of pearls to give it some shine.
Why I Sneeze, Shiver, Hiccup and Yawn By Melvin Berger - Value $4.50 on Amazon (retail price $5.99)
Each month Tutu Royal sends a nonfiction book that matches the theme of the box. This month since the theme is “Healthy Princess” the book is about the human body and why it does some of the things it does like yawn and sneeze. My three-year-old daughter wasn’t interested in this book (yet) because it’s pretty detailed and factual and geared for older kids. However, it’s interesting and well-written and will be great to have in our home library for when she’s a little older.
Kookies by Keirsten Mirror Cookie – Value $4.00?
This frosted lemon cookie was delicious! Tutu Royal had it double packaged in a sealed bag and bubble wrap to protect it in transit. We love that Tutu Royal sends a yummy edible treat each month.
Verdict: My daughter adores the Tutu Royal box and I was happy to see how much was included for the $30 (plus shipping) price point. I am estimating the value of the box to be around $43 which I’m very happy with. I like the idea that this box is mixing princess dress-up fun with an emphasis on education, STEM, and confidence boosting literature as well. I also appreciate that with each subscription purchased Tutu Royal donates a subscription to an adoption agency.
