Wantable Style Edit has been a major player in the subscription styling service market for over a year now, and they just started offering plus sizes at the end of July. I was thrilled to get the chance to try them out! When I signed up for this service, I took a pretty lengthy quiz in which I indicated my price, size and style preferences. It looks like they have done away with listing your preferences on this sheet, but there is an area where they print any notes you have sent to your stylist for this shipment. The only thing printed here is my pinterest style board, and it looks like I have not updated my preferences in quite a while! In any case, I would expect what I receive to be reflective of my tastes, and for these boxes to vary quite a bit from subscriber to subscriber. There is also a note from my stylist, Catherine. It explains why she chose the items she picked for me.
This is the invoice of the items they sent me this month. On the right it shows my cost to keep each item. The total comes to $351. If I keep everything, I get 20% off, plus I get my $20 styling fee deducted. That means a potential discount of $90.20. That's a deep discount!
Roll Tab Sleeve Lace-Up Dress by She + Sky - Cost to Keep $58
This dress is just too body conscious for me to ever wear out in public. I think it would definitely be cute on some people, though!
Def Leppard Tee by Chaser - Cost to Keep $62
I always try to pair tops and bottoms from the same box, but this box was a challenge, and I don't think this combo looks great together. But, I'm evaluating the pieces separately, and I think this tee is super cute! And who doesn't love Def Leppard? It also fits well. The only problem is the price. I got one of these tees earlier this year and I just can't see paying $62 for a tee shirt!
Cross Front Detail Maxi Skirt by Emerald Fashion - Cost to Keep $39
This cotton knit skirt is pretty, it fits well, and I really like the draped side panels! I always think adding to the hips will be problematic, but it almost always ends up being at least somewhat flattering. Plus the price is right!
Draped Peplum Blouse by Melissa McCarthy for Seven7 - Cost to Keep $58 (on sale from $98!)
Wow, this top is really fancy! Again, this is another example of how adding to the hips ends up being more flattering than I would have thought. It's just not really my style, and I don't know where I would even wear something like this.
Skinny Starry Eyed Jeans by Kensie - Cost to Keep $48 (on sale from $78!)
Y'all, I am so torn about these jeans. I love Kensie jeans! They fit so great and are so comfortable, and I love the wash. The problem is that I think I already have a pair from Kensie that are really similar to these, and I don't need any more skinny jeans right now. But LOOK AT THE PRICE! What should I do?
Fit & Flare V Front and Back Dress by Mai Tai - Cost to Keep $50
I don't know what it is with me or Wantable lately, but I keep mistaking dresses they send me for tops and wearing pants or jeans with them. I would never wear this dress with bare legs though, it's too short! In any case, it is super cute! It's a cotton spandex blend, and I think it's really flattering. This would look awesome with leggings.
Tummy Control Classic Fit Straight Leg Pants by Zac & Rachel - Cost to Keep $36
These pants do not really look good on me, so I was happy to mostly conceal them with the dress, haha. The tummy control was strange. Enough said. Good price, though.
Verdict: I am really loving my Wantable Style Edit! Like pretty much every styling box, this month was a mixture of hits and misses, but there were definitely a few pieces I totally like. The floral dress is so pretty! I also appreciate that Wantable usually sends seven pieces - for some reason, it's just so much more fun than five!
