Warm Hug is a self-care subscription box based out of Canada. This box is aimed at mothers and other caregivers as a reminder to take time out to care for oneself. I'll be honest - I could use a warm hug from time to time!

This is the letter that was included in my package, detailing the contents. It looks like they delivered on everything they promise on their website!

Lindt/Lindor Assorted Truffles - Value $1.07? (Buy a 6 oz. box of 15 truffles for $4)

I am not ashamed to say I ate all four of these chocolates and they were so delicious! No regrets! Two were white chocolate and tasted kind of like frosting, and the other two were milk chocolate. Yum! The only issue was that it is still hot here in the south, so they were pretty melted by the time I got them. I guess it must be a lot cooler in Halifax, where this box originated.

Makeup Case - Value $5?

This is a great size for a makeup bag! I like mine with a little extra room. I am not wild about the feel as it is plastic, but plastic is usually the best for keeping spills contained. It's cute!

Sweet Orange and Carrot Seed Bath Salts - Value $5?

These handmade bath salts smell great, and carrot seeds are an excellent exfoliant! I think this is about two ounces.

Socks - Value $8?

These socks are nice and lightweight for the end of summer/early fall. They definitely breathe well. Cute color, too!

Fierce Woman Tea - Value $10?

This is a wonderful smelling and tasting herbal tea! It has a nice minty, spice aroma, which would be due to the fact that it includes peppermint and ginger. That also leads me to believe that this would be a great tea for an upset tummy! This also feels like about two ounces.

Affirmations

These little affirmations are another standard inclusion in Warm Hug, and I think they're just lovely. They don't 100% ring true with me, personally, but perhaps if I keep thinking this way, someday they will.

Sleepy Time Essential Oil Blend - Value $3?

I'm not totally sure of the contents of this essential oil blend, but it definitely has lavender in it, which is so helpful for getting to sleep. Plus it smells great!

Pear and Green Tea Soap - Value $6?

This is another handmade item, and it smells amazing! I don't smell the pear so much, but the green tea scent is outstanding, and it does have sweet notes. I also really like glycerin soaps; they tend to lather really well. Plus look how sweet that little owl looks!

Amethyst Stone - Value $5?

Amethyst is so beautiful! I have several amethyst gemstones, and I never get tired of that gorgeous purple hue. It also came with this info sheet - who knew amethyst was helpful in defending against addiction? Neat!

Set of Six Note Cards - Value $1.50 (from the sticker on the back of the packet)

These cards are so cute, and perfect for fall! I have already used two of them. I love having blank notecards around, they are so useful for so many things. I always feel like getting handwritten communication on nice cards is so special, so I love to give them to others.

The Verdict: I have a really great first impression of Warm Hug! They definitely delivered on everything they promised would be in the box! I especially loved the soap and the tea. It feels like a really special, thoughtful care package, and I think it would make an amazing gift for someone who needs a little extra comfort. It would be awesome for a loved one who is in the hospital or having tough times! I could find barely any of these items for sale online, so I don't think it's really fair to comment on the value based on almost all estimates, but I do feel like you really get a lot for about $36 shipped.

The Warm Hug subscription box is $30 Canadian with $15 shipping to the US and $10 shipping throughout Canada. Also we do apologize for the problem with our 6 month subscription button for our US subscribers. It has been removed from our site until we can get the problem corrected.

I ordered a 3 month subscription to Warm Hug yesterday but have only received an email about my payment through paypal going through. I’m wondering if my order was received and if so when I should be receiving my first box?

Your box is shipping out today and you will receive an email with tracking within the next few hours.

It ships via Canada Post so I would be unable to give an exact delivery date with the holiday rush, however, it’s generally about 3-5 business days.

I guess I’m just a sucker for a sweetly curated box and this one had me right away! Not for me but for a friend of mine who is going through a rough patch. Living across country from her, getting a 3-month sub to this box seemed like a perfect long distance hug.

But the pricing presented here, Anna, does not dovetail with the pricing on the Warm Hug website. The 3-month sub is $45 Canadian per month (same a the $30 one time box + $15 shipping) which translated into ~$36 per month. The link the their 6-month sub is broken so I have no idea if there are add’l price breaks with a longer membership.

This may be a new company so I’ll give it a few months for them to sort out their issues. Thanks for introducing us to a new subscription, though, Anna! (I always read your reviews!)

This would be a nice one-timer for a friend needing a pick me up…or college student away from home…all sweet, thoughtful items…

I enjoyed seeing you review this box. Nothing outstanding but everything was nice. Lindor “balls” as we call it (inside story) are one of my favorite sweets. As a matter of fact I have a bag of them now. The price of this box is okay if you get a 3 or 6 month subscription and not have to pay shipping. But if you have to pay shipping, I believe it is too expensive for what you receive. P.S. I am glad someone’s income is increasing—mine is not. Unless I misunderstand the meaning of the saying.
