I love the yellow and red together on this card. Plus, DUH… red glitter always is a good thing as far as I am concerned!
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and that I was called “the styling queen!” Awe shucks!
On The Prowl Leopard Print Dress, no size tag (brand and retail value unavailable)
When I first started reviewing CHC Vintage, I had put in my survey that leopard print is my favorite print of all. Imagine how elated I was to see an animal print dress in this month’s box! The dress has a more summer or lingerie quality, so I opted to style it a few ways. As Nicole and the CHC Team suggested, I tried the dress on with a black t-shirt underneath. I also followed their recommendation of piecing it with gold accessories from Jewelry Subscription box (review coming soon!) and my gold go-go booties from B.A.I.T Footwear. The dress is made from a stretchy, soft cotton t-shirt material. The dress’s straps and detailing on the bodice are made from braided cotton as well. I sense this dress may have been used as a nightgown in its past life, but this piece is versatile enough to be worn at any time of day! To amp up the glam and sass of this casual item I paired it with black tights, a large brimmed hat, and black faux fur coat. I felt like I was channeling both of MTV’s Julie Browns from the late 80’s/early 90s in this ensemble! This dress also could easily be styled with strappy heels and a leather biker jacket for a night on the town. For summer months, you can wear it with a floppy brimmed hat, light black shawl, and bejeweled sandals for an elegant beach style.
Verdict: CHC Vintage never disappoints! This piece is a great value due to how adaptable it is for all seasons with the proper accessories. I could have possibly found this dress for less in a thrift store or department store since it is out of season, but I would have been the one to have to search high and low for this dress. That is the beauty of CHC, they give you a quality vintage piece and save you from having to hunt for it yourself. That saves you money on gas and time on driving to various flea markets, thrift and vintage stores, and also searching through overpriced Etsy listings. Don’t get me wrong, I am a scavenger and a thrifter at heart, but I also love the convenience and value of a service like CHC Vintage!
