Nerdy Post is a monthly celebration of your favorite fandoms from TV, movies, and books. Every month, you'll get 5-7 handcrafted items centered around a different monthly fandom.

nerdy post box for november 2017 open

Everything you get in Nerdy Post is handmade by Alexis, Nerdy Post's creator. Here's what their site says:

"...we wanted to provide unique, high-quality designs that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Hand lettering and illustrating these designs means that nothing is created using fonts or stock images from a computer. Designs are of course digitized in order to be printed on the products, but they will retain their hand-crafted quality."

Alexis recently started offering a Nerdy Tees subscription, which features one graphic tee that fits the monthly theme, for $15.95 a month plus shipping. You can also get the t-shirt and the items in the usual Nerdy Post box in her Nerdy Combo subscription, which is $29.90 per month plus shipping.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is for the Nerdy Post box, which is $13.95 a month.

info card for nerdy post november 2017

This Nerdy Post is all about... Marvel!

marvel quote print

Iron Man 3 Quote Print

On the reverse side of the info card, there's a glossy 5" x 7" print that reads "Failure is the fog through which we glimpse truth." It took me a second to tell that the F in "Fog" was indeed an F (I was like, "TOG? ZOG? ZOO?"), but now that I get it, I like it, haha. As usual, I'm so impressed by how artfully the artist arranges long quotes into tidy little spaces!

Double-Sided "Mini Print" featuring quotes from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Daredevil

This 5" x 7" card features a print on either side. The first is "Nobody's Nobody", an Agent Coulson quote. It's not like this subscription to feature such short 'n' sweet quotes, but I think this one is pretty great. The minimalist design feels fitting for the simple sentiment, too.

The Daredevil quote was actually guest-designed by Instagram user @reverieandink. It's a longer quote, but perfect for a little morning motivation—it'd be perfect to hang next to the bathroom mirror.

Double-Sided Mini Print featuring Quotes from Ant-Man and X-Men: First Class

This second card is only a 4" x 6" size, so it'll work for smaller frames and spaces. I think it's so funny that they picked an Ant-Man quote that shouts out the Avengers! I also thought it was interesting that the Professor X quote on the other side comes from a conversation with Erik (who would become Magneto) rather than Wolverine, since the slash-like accents remind me of gashes his claws might make. I like the homage to the original blue-and-yellow uniforms from old-school X-Men cartoons!

Doctor Strange Quote Poster

I love the posters in this subscription. This one is just 8.5" x 11" with a relatively matte finish, but look at that design! It seems like something right out of a comic book. The info card mentions how this quote inspires Alexis, the creator, to be the best version of herself. I feel like this would be fun to pin on a corkboard near your workspace, or in a kiddo's room for an extra superhero-supplied bit of purpose and motivation for the day.

Double-Sided Bookmark featuring Quotes from Captain America and Thor

Ugh, are these two of the most charming Marvel superheroes or what? I particularly like the Captain America quote, as it feels like something that works perfectly with reading (because seriously, on cozy winter days, nothing is better than spending a whole day reading). The Thor quote, not so much, but I still love it. I wish it was a print that I could put by my coffee pot!

marvel quote enamel pin marvel quote enamel pin

Deadpool Enamel Pin

This rectangular pin apparently represents "literally one of the only PG quotes in this whole hilarious movie" according to the info card, haha! It's about 1.25 inches wide and really lovely quality (the text is crisp against the burgundy background), plus it has two posts on the back rather than just one. Two posts always better the chances of pins staying put and flush with my lapel's fabric.

The Hulk Sticker

Ugh, I feel you, Hulk!!! This sticker is about 3 inches wide and has a velvety smooth feel. It's a bit more cartoony than the other designs in the box, but I think that's fitting here. Seeing the pizza slice in the Hulk's big green hand reminded me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, too!

marvel quote makeup bag marvel quote makeup bag marvel quote canvas bag from behind

The Avengers Quote Bag

Wow! I've never gotten a product like this via this subscription before. I love it! The quote from Loki looks great on the front of this sturdy canvas bag, which is 10 inches wide and about 7 inches tall. It's just the place to store my pens and pencils (drawing being my "glorious purpose" if you will...). You could also use it for makeup, toiletries, or any other small trinkets.

Coloring Book Postcard

I'm pretty sure every Marvel movie has a Stan Lee cameo, so of course, he's gotta make an appearance in this box! This coloring book postcard is great to send to a friend or just color in and keep.

The Verdict: What a fun Nerdy Post! Marvel seems like a real crowd-pleaser of a theme, so I'm hoping others have as much fun with this box as I did. While I loved the prints as usual, the bag and pin are probably my favorite items in the box—it's hard to find homes for all the prints I get from this box month after month, so I like having Alexis' art in more on-the-go-friendly iterations. Since the holidays are around the corner, I can't help but think that some of these prints would be great gifts for geeky friends and kids—just add a fun frame!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Boxes ship out on the 15th of the month. However, if there are extra boxes available, they're sometimes listed on the Nerdy Post site shop!

Marion

… I thought the Iron Man 3 print said “ZOO” at first, too.
