Nerdy Post is a monthly celebration of your favorite fandoms from TV, movies, and books. Every month, you'll get 5-7 handcrafted items centered around a different monthly fandom.
Everything you get in Nerdy Post is handmade by Alexis, Nerdy Post's creator. Here's what their site says:
"...we wanted to provide unique, high-quality designs that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Hand lettering and illustrating these designs means that nothing is created using fonts or stock images from a computer. Designs are of course digitized in order to be printed on the products, but they will retain their hand-crafted quality."
Alexis recently started offering a Nerdy Tees subscription, which features one graphic tee that fits the monthly theme, for $15.95 a month plus shipping. You can also get the t-shirt and the items in the usual Nerdy Post box in her Nerdy Combo subscription, which is $29.90 per month plus shipping.

This Nerdy Post is all about Stephen King! What a perfect pick for the Halloween season. Of course, according to Alexis' note, this renowned author is worth celebrating for way more than just his scary stories.
There was a little promotional item in this month's box—a bookmark advertising the Insiders Book Club!
The Stand Quote Print
On the reverse side of the info card, there's a glossy 5" x 7" print by Instagram user @reverieandink featuring a quote from the book The Stand. I really love the colors of this quote and the effortless, looping text. The desert background is a nice nod to the southwestern setting of the story, too.
It Quote Poster
Who knew such an inspiring quote could come from one of the most iconic scary movies? I really like the artistic choice to use these clown makeup colors (the way the white letters are smudged and fading in places really makes it look like eerie greasepaint). This poster is the size of an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper, so it should be easy to find a frame (and a place on my wall) for. I could also see this making a great gift for that one friend who's totally obsessed with the remake!
Double-Sided Stephen King Quote Bookmark
The first side of this bookmark is a nod to the term Stephen King uses to address his fans. I like the retro-ish colors of the books—the oranges and deep greens, in particular, give the design an old, 80s library feel. The second side of the bookmark is a quote from the author. In addition to being a great writer, I know that Stephen King is also a great source of writing advice. This little quip isn't just a good tip, but also a nice bit of encouragement to keep on reading and press on!
The Eyes of the Dragon Quote Sticker
I really like all the stickers that have been popping up in Nerdy Post boxes! This one is an homage to Stephen Kings fantasy story apparently inspired by Alexis's old copy of the book. It's about 4 inches wide and 3 inches tall, so it makes a nice impression on a laptop lid or a notebook or even a cell phone cover. The colors are great, but I did notice that it's not terribly sticky. Be wary too that it doesn't seem like it'd withstand water very well (in case you're considering it for the side of your Nalgene...).
Misery Quote Sticker
This little sticker is only about 2" x 2.5" but it's super eye-catching. I love the lacy designs that appear behind the big bold letters and the way their coral-red color pops against the deeper blood red. The sticker doesn't come across as overtly sinister, but as Alexis notes, readers familiar with the story will know right away that to the protagonist Paul, meeting his number one fan isn't all it's cracked up to be...
Two-Sided Stephen King Quote Print
This 4" x 6" card has a different print on either side. The first side features a quote from Insomnia designed by Instagram user @littleinklingdesign—again, surprisingly inspiring, right? The second side features what's probably my favorite design in the box. Unlike the other 2D images, this Salem's Lot quote image is technically a photograph of cut paper shot from a striking angle. I am wiiiiild about this creative approach!
Two-Sided Stephen King Quote Print, 2
This second 4" x 6" double-sided print has a 11/22/63 quote from IG user @alissecourter on one side and a quote from Gunslinger by @an.artist.has.no.name. I really like the library quote—it's perfect for framing near a bookshelf in gifting to an avid reader. The Gunslinger quote isn't quite my style, just because it seems to lack the panache of the other designs this month.
Stephen King Quote Pocket Notebook
This subscription specializes in packing as many prints into the box as possible (think the two-sided prints). So it shouldn't be too surprising that this notebook packs four different quote prints into one item! There are quotes from On Writing, Duma Key, Full Dark No Stars, and a quote from Stephen King about The Shining. Since Stephen King is 1) a great writer and 2) the kind of writer who likes to inspire other writers, I think it's fitting that this little scratch pad was included. Maybe an aspiring writer will start their next novel on one of these college-ruled pages! (Or at least their next reading list!)
Black Cat Enamel Pin
I love cats, and I'll never be spooked by a black cat crossing my path. (It's more likely that it will be spooked by me chasing after it trying to pet it.) So while it's not for the traditional reasons, I love that Halloween brings about a ton of black cat merch! This pin is supposedly a nod to Pet Sematary, but it'll fit the bill for any feline fan. The quality, purr usual, (sorry, I had to) is great, and I love the fact that there are two posts rather than just one to help keep the pin snug against my lapel.
Nerdy Post Coloring Book Postcard
Lastly, we've got the usual Nerdy Post custom-drawn postcard that doubles as a spooky coloring page!
The Verdict: I think Nerdy Post is awesome, especially because they do such a great job of representing all kinds of fandoms from all kinds of media sources. Stephen King was a perfect pick for Halloween, not just because of his horror expertise, but because of his fame in the world of books and film. Even if you're not a horror fan, the quotes they choose still have a resonance. As someone who's not super well-versed in King's works, some of these quotes actually made me want to read more of his stuff—the inspiring, hopeful, positive words definitely aren't what I'd immediately expect from a Stephen King box!
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Boxes ship out on the 15th of the month. However, if there are extra boxes available, they're sometimes listed on the Nerdy Post site shop!
