SealLine Blocker Dry Sack 30L – Retail Value $24.95, Listed Value $25 (found on sale here for $19.95)

Up first, this awesome dry sack from SealLine! This is another one of those moments where I literally had this item on my Amazon wishlist and it showed up in a subscription box! I upgraded some of my older dry bags this year for my trip to Idaho, and I bought this exact line in smaller sizes. They are PERFECT for packing in luggage or for backpacking because they can be packed flat rather than the tube shape you may be accustomed to. This 30L size can fit a ton of stuff - easily everything you’d need to keep dry while camping. When I was traveling, I packed my dirty boots into one of these to keep the rest of the stuff in my luggage from getting dirty. The bag itself is printed with a semi-reflective design that I’ve never seen on a stuff sack before too. Suffice it to say, I was excited to see this in a box and will be using it for a long time to come.

Outdoor Element Firebiner – Retail Value $14.95

Up next we have this awesome little tool from Outdoor Element - the Firebiner! I received one of these from another subscription a few months back and have been putting it to use regularly. I keep it in the same case as my camping stove - the spark is more than enough to get it burning. There’s a ton of other tools built in here: bottle opener, flathead screwdriver, blade, and loop attachment. It comes with bonus ferro rods to keep you sparking well into the future. This is a project that was funded by Kickstarter and I can totally see why they raised over 7 times their goal to put this into production.

Live Fire Original – Retail Value $9.99

Finally this month, we have this fire-starting material from Live Fire! This stuff is really interesting. It seems crazy long lasting, there’s more than enough here to get several good fires started. All you need to do is scrape up a tiny section with a knife edge until the material “fluffs” up, and hit it with a spark (from your Firebiner perhaps) and it will flare up almost immediately. You can leave it right in the tin because the design of the tin allows you to control the size of the flame. Whether you just need a little bit to get a kindling fire going or a sizeable flame to get some wet wood burning, you can control that just by sliding the lid around. Also, it’s nice and lightweight, even with the tin it comes in at under an ounce, so it’s a much stronger alternative than the old style firestarter logs you might be packing.

Verdict: Nomadik was excellent this month! I still can’t believe I got that SealLine bag, and the other two items are incredibly useful for camping. They promise “up to $50 worth” of items in each box, and this month’s value comes out to $49.89. At the $32.95 box cost, I think this box is a great value.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will start with the December box.

I am also a Firebiner fan, and have purchased some for stocking stuffers. I used mine to open a beverage after hiking into to camp during a rainstorm—and my gear was nice and dry inside my new stuff sack. Great box this month!

I loved this box, especially the bag. I haven’t tried out the Live Fire stuff yet, but hope to very soon. Got the firebiner in Cairn a few months back and it’s awesome, I even bought some for Christmas gifts.
