POPSUGAR Must Have x Neiman Marcus Box 2017 Review

Every holiday season, POPSUGAR and Neiman Marcus do a collaboration box that's designed to be perfect for gifting. This is the review of the sold-out 2017 POPSUGAR Must Have x Neiman Marcus Box!

This is the first year ever that you could pick your color choice (gold or silver). This review is of the gold box (and I'll show you the silver options at the end of the post).

This box was sent to us for review purposes.  (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The box itself is beautiful. It has a magnetic flap closure, and it's definitely a box you'll want to keep for storage or regifting.

Eddie Parker Heart Bag Charm – Value $125

This keychain has a pearlescent red finish on one side and glitter acrylic on the other.

It's a big bag charm (3"H x 2.1"W x 0.4"D), and could probably double as a big and sparkly keychain if you don't want to put it on a purse, bag, backpack, etc.

Kim Seybert Spotlight placemat, set of 4 – Value $112

These placemats measure 15 inches across and they are SO sparkly and fun!

The glitter is textured, so that might make them a bit tricky to clean, but there is zero glitter fall out!

I normally prefer a more minimalist style when it comes to home decor, but I think the holidays are a perfect time to be a bit more vibrant and festive - so these are perfect for me. (They feel very Kate Spade, too.)

And these can work for lots of uses besides placemats. We used one to make our bar cart extra sparkly:

If you have more than 4 seats at your table, you could alternate between these and a different placemat, or use these for a centerpiece instead. (And I think they could be fun as wall art, too!)

W&P Design Pineapple Cocktail Shaker in Gold – Retail Value $80

Again, great packaging and perfect for gifting!

This cocktail shaker is made of plated stainless steel and holds 18 ounces. (Hand wash only.)

We don't make cocktails often, but we have a bar cart in our dining room, and I like that this is the type of cocktail shaker I can leave out on display!

Jonathan Adler Candle in Champagne Pop - Value $42

(If you ordered the Silver box, you'll receive the Vodka Pop candle instead.)

The lining of this box is a champagne glass print , and the exterior is a metallic gold finish - it's perfect for gifting!

(The metallic finish on the glass vessel is more of a rose gold than true gold.) It measures about 3.25 inches across and has a burn time of 40 hours.

The scent is sweet and a little fruity. It's a blend of: pink grapefruit, sparkling champagne, raspberry, French cassis, violet leaves, rose petals, crushed sage, crisp mint, and grape leaf.

I asked a few fellow MSA reviewers to sniff it and everyone is a fan!

GLAMGLOW Dreamduo Overnight Transforming Treatment – Retail Value $59

GLAMGLOW is one of those brands I will pay full-price for (I love their masks), so I was thrilled to see this in the box!

This DreamDuo is an overnight 2-step treatment:

First, you apply the serum (the pearl colored one on the left), then wait 30 seconds and apply the seal (the gray one on the right). The serum is lightweight and absorbs quickly, and the "seal" is a heavy-duty moisturizer formulated with hyaluronic acid and mozuku green algae designed to plump skin.

I've tried it for a few days now, and I love it! My skin has been especially dry lately thanks to the cold weather and heaters, and this immediately made my skin feel soft, hydrated, and plump. Oh, and it smells like an orange creamsicle! And it's formulated without parabens, sulfates, or phthalates!

Yves Saint Laurent Wild Illusion Palette + Mascara Set

Yves Saint Laurent Wild Illusion Palette – Value $60

I love a beautiful palette, and this one is gorgeous even before you open it!

All shades are super shimmery and pigmented. Some more sparkly than others.

The pink is designed to be used a base shade, with the silver glitter in the top right as a highlighter.

These shades are much bolder than my typical (brown) go-to eyeshadow shades, but I think it's great to get a bright and sparkly palette in a holiday box. (And I have nothing like this in my ever-growing palette collection.)

Yves Saint Laurent The Shock Mascara - 2 ml Value Approx $7

(FYI POPSUGAR did not put a value to this bonus mascara to go with the palette, but I'm including the value in case you are curious.)

This little mascara packs major volume and drama!

This mascara is a bold black that provides excellent length and volume. I didn't have any clumping issues even after I applied multiple layers. I give it an A!

Chan Luu Swarovski Crystal & Pearl Necklace and Earring Set in Gold – Value $195

More excellent packaging perfect if you are splitting this box into multiple gifts!

The necklace is 17″ and extends to 19″.

I’m all for delicate gold jewelry, so this necklace is a great fit for me.

The earrings measure about 1.75″ in total length (top of hoop to bottom of pearl dangle.)

ANNA by RabLabs Ita Cheese Plate & Forma Spreader in Gold – Retail Value $85

This agate plate measures about 6 inches long and 5.5 inches across. (It's a little smaller than I expected but perfect for a small cheese plate.

Neiman Marcus $25 Gift Card

POPSUGAR included a Neiman Marcus gift card in last year's box, too, and I'm glad to see they've continued the tradition!

Verdict: This box has a value of $790! I think that's a great value for a $250 box, and when you factor in the $25 gift card, it's really like paying $225 for 8 items.

Also, this year they included 4 home items! 4 home items plus 2 beauty and 2 fashion items and a gift card is a perfect mix for me. (And as always, I appreciate that pretty much everything in this box could be gifted if it isn't a good fit for you.)
