Wigglebutt Box is a subscription box for dogs. Items are chosen based on your dog’s size (choose “small” at under 20 pounds, “medium” for dogs 20-50 pounds, and “large” for dogs over 50 pounds). You can also specify how tough your dog is with his or her toys (“gentle/1,” “average/2,” or “ruff!/3”). For those of you who read my dog box reviews, you’ll know Nyx is in the “ruff!” category.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
This review is of the Large, Ruff, $29.95 a month, box. My dog, Nyx, is a Rottweiler who currently weighs about 86 pounds.

There was an information card detailing the items in the box.
Amazon Basics Dog Waste Bags – Estimated Value $0.25
You’ll get a roll of Amazon Basics doggie waste bags in pretty much every Wigglebutt Box. I actually started buying this brand after first trying it here – these are inexpensive but they hold up well.
Doggie Trends Carrot Rope Toy – Retail Value $16.99 (found on sale here for $8.99)
This would be great if it was bigger. But it is maybe 6 or 8 inches long and far too small to give to Nyx (she could fit the whole thing in her mouth at once). I will pass this along to a neighbor’s dog to enjoy. (For what it’s worth, this actually is listed for sale from the manufacturer at a higher cost than the value on the information card.)
Preppy Puppy Turkey Cookie – Listed Value $4.75
Preppy Puppy is only a wholesale supplier so I took the value from the information card. This is a fun, seasonal item though, and it kind of makes me want to make iced sugar cookies for myself. I am not sure of the ingredients on this one so I will pass it along to someone whose dog doesn’t have major digestive issues (poor Nyx).
Seasonal Kerchief – Listed Value $5.95
You’ll always get a kerchief for your dog in Wigglebutt Box. They are triangle shaped and printed on one side. I like this pattern – it stands out against Nyx’s fur, and it still says “fall” to me even though it doesn’t have a traditional fall color scheme. These are big enough even for thick Rottweiler necks (but if you choose a box for a smaller dog, you’ll get a smaller kerchief).
Fruitables Pumpkin and Cranberry Treats (7 oz) – Retail Value $4.99 (found on sale here for $3.99)
This is a great flavor for Thanksgiving week, plus it has a little fiber from the pumpkin and possibly some urinary tract benefits from the cranberry. These are crunchy treats that are made in the USA and free of wheat, corn, and soy. (Actually, they are also free of animal proteins, so they will work for a lot of dogs with food sensitivities.)
Hugglehounds Plush MacGee Wool Turkey Toy – Retail Value $22.99
This was out of stock at a lot of places, and apparently offered for widely varying prices, but the price I’ve listed above, while high, is for an item that was actually available for purchase (and not discounted for Thanksgiving) at the time of writing this review. The bright colors are fun and the wool texture provides some interest. More importantly, this stood up to at least a few minutes of Nyx’s gnawing and she will get to play with it at least a few more times.
Thank You Cards – Listed Value $5.95
Wigglebutt Box usually has one item meant for the dog owner. This month it is some “thank you” cards. There’s no brand name on these so I just took the value from the information card. I like the recycled paper look and feel of them, and it is always good to have a few of these around, especially near the winter holidays.
Got her to pose for the camera without help!
Here is Nyx with the turkey toy. She wanted to grab this one and shake it violently at first, but she did eventually settle down and gnaw on it.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $61.87 for this month’s Wigglebutt Box (less with sale prices). That’s a great value for this box, and is almost twice as much as last month’s value. Everything was seasonally appropriate and good quality, and the only disappointment was that the carrot toy was a bit too small for Nyx to play with. She did love the turkey toy quite a lot, though.
