I got last year’s and one additional thing to note is that the tea lights aren’t labeled with the scent at all. Some are obvious but others are not.

I found that last year’s calendar was really difficult to work with. I remember people mentioning that the back opened in transport and candles fell out. I didn’t have that issue, but I had a difficult time getting the candles out. The ‘doors’ didn’t exactly line up with the candles so the front had to be a bit ripped to get the candles out. I definitely wouldn’t purchase again, but hopefully they’ve worked out the kinks for those who do.

Also, I’d guess that YC’s description is wrong. There are 24 doors pictured, so I’d guess there are two tealights of each of the 12 scents, not one each. That is what last year’s setup was as well.

They say on their website that there are 2 each of 12 fragrances.

I love Yankee Candle. I went to college in Massachusetts and visited their HQ/main store several times. (The mall stores don’t even begin to compare.)

These “Advent” Calendars really confuse me, because Advent is actually a season of the church year, that runs this year from December 3-25, meaning 22 days. How does a 12 door Advent calendar even exist? Shouldn’t they just call them Holiday Calendars??? Come on, some of us actually know what Advent is. Just sayin’…..

It’s no different than the advent chocolate calendars I had as a kid every year. Those always started December 1st and went until the 25th. Our church used to sell them -all proceeds went to charity.

Yankee Candle is actually calling this a holiday countdown calendar. I think MSA is just grouping all the countdown calendars into one Advent category.

Good to know, thanks for the clarification:) I was beginning to think all of the businesses were really missing it this year, hahaha!

If you sign up for the email list they regularly send info on sales.
The website also currently has a “Holiday Sampler Clutch Offer”, a 5 piece gift set for $15 with any $35 purchase.

This won’t help you this year, unfortunately, but file it away to remember next year. 🙂
If you’re on Yankee Candle’s e-mail list, they send out a 50% off coupon in early November. It expired on Nov. 5, but the advent calendar was in stores before then, so I was able to use the coupon on it! (I did the same thing last year, so I expect to do so again next year, too.)

By going to the yankee candle site home page, I got a popup offering 10% for giving an email address (I didn’t actually test if it worked on the calendar though). They usually have coupons and such for Black Friday, but that might be a little late for getting these by 12/1.

So it’s $30 for 12 tea light candles and a shotglass with a snowflake on it. Pass hahaha.

I thought there would be votive candles at least. I think votive holder and 24 tea light candles is just ridiculous for advent calendar with this price. It’s effectively sampler of their Christmas collection. There should be a massive discount to persuade me to buy this one. And I’m a crazy candle lady. 🙂 I burn candles all the time.
