December 2017 Geek Fuel Review

The December box has a great exclusive for Kidrobot and South Park fans!

Each delivery arrives with a detailed card that gives you information on each item.

It also comes with a mini magazine - the best part of this month's magazine is that the front cover is flocked! Just one of those extra touches that Geek Fuel is so good at.

Inside, you'll find stories, interviews, and my favorite part - the gift guide section!

Mario Samurai Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt is an interesting one. It's the samurai take on Mario vs King Koopa. There are so many little easter eggs in here, too! The ghost cloud, fireball flower, and shell shoulder pads to name just a few!

3 Inch Exclusive Kidrobot A.W.E.S.O.M.-O - Value $20-25 based on GITD version

Kidrobot's South Park figure line is just awesome. I own the 6-inch version of A.W.E.S.O.M.-O and it's a treasure of my collection - so I was really excited to see this 3-inch exclusive version in the box.

This is an exact miniaturized version of my 6-inch box and figure - I just love it. If you're a South Park fan, this might kick-start your Kidrobot collection!

to make it even better - the box turns into a South Park set for display - this was a fun touch!

Epic Enamels Pins Lord of the Pins Edition- Value $5-10?

Each month you'll get a themed pin - and it always is accompanied by awesome packaging - this month is no different!

There are 7 variants you could receive - including an ultra-rare ring pin - there's only one of those because of course there's only one ring to rule them all!

I got Frodo. The pins have become the part of Geek Fuel that I look forward to the most over the past few months. I just love the detail put into the packaging - I end up leaving these in the package for little keepsakes.

Imperial Key Fob - Value $10 on Amazon

You'll get one of two key fobs - the Rebels of the Galactic Empire version.

I got the Imperial version. What I've noticed is the little touch here - the Imperial key fob has red stitching, while the Rebel fob has blue stitching - sometimes it's the little things that make me happy!

Poncho Steam Game - Value $10

Every month includes a Steam game as well - and this month featured Poncho.

This is a little puzzle solving adventure game where you control a robot wearing a poncho - it felt very appropriate for Geek Fuel and their robot mascot. The game definitely has the vibe of Fez - so if you were a fan of Fez like I was, then you might like this one as well.

Verdict: What a great exclusive from Kidrobot this month - it totally covers the value and is the BEST Geek Fuel item of the year for me! As always, I'm happy with the shirt and pin as well. If you're into Steam games, that will always cover about half of the cost - it's a great option to get some of the most unique geeky items that I've seen in any subscription box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! You can always tell which month your subscription will start with on Geek Fuel's homepage banner at the top left of the screen - under their logo!

Apparently, this box could have came with two enamel pins. It says it on the little card that I was an instant winner of the 2017 Epic Enamels Giveaway. You would have gotten an enamel from Lord of the Rings, TMNT, Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers, Mario Kart, Cartoon Network, or their DC comics one. I got Power Ranger and Mario Kart.

I am not a South Park fan, but I think the robot is really cute!! And the “playset” will be a cute little display for other small things I get from Geek Fuel! Thrilled with the pin and the shirt. The keychain might go to my brother. I can’t play Steam games until I get a new computer, but Poncho looks like fun! I am thoroughly happy with my subscription!

Ok…I have to say, I’m disappointed. I remember seeing something about a big Star Wars item. A key chain? A key chain is not a big hero item. The pin is awesome. The rest is not really something the person I ordered this for will be into, but I can see how others would.
Overall…kicking myself for choosing this box as the Christmas present for my wife. I think she will not be that enthused. I’ll get 2 months though and hopefully the next will be more her style.

So I opened mine, it’s for my wife but I wanted to see. This one had 2 pins as well, TMNT and MarioKart. I’m glad they are two and they are both awesome, but I am a bit bummed that there was no LotRs one. But, I’m feeling better about this box now for her. I hope she likes it.

Luckily I got it for South Park or I wouldn’t have been disappointed
