Beth, I thought I was the ONLY ONE who has thought they’ve lost their edge in curating cute and unique to Golden Tote style casual fashions.
I was looking at each item, and except for a few things which are ” generic” in style, the vast majority are styles I’ve owned in multiples and worn for 2 or more winter seasons now. ( excepting the PJs- too tall to be comfy in PJ bottoms),
When they first started, they sent me COLD SHOULDER sweaters no joke! And the most gorgeous sweater knit striped lounge pants.. Things that were soft, comfy, warm, just what I wanted, but each item was very cutting edge fashionable at that time.
I think they either dropped the suppliers of more chic styling because their volume of sales increased to very huge numbers, or maybe they had too many returns from people who didn’t like boho edgy pieces.
For example, from probably one of the first year’s totes, which was several years ago now, I have a criss cross shoulder cut out cardi in black with large white polka dots. It was an edgy piece when I received it, and it’s still fashionable, just not extremely trendy. I still get compliments and ” Where’d you get that?” from strangers every time it’s cold enough here to wear a sweater ( about 3 times per winter).
I wanted to buy so many totes, but the styling looks almost retro, which does not flatter me at all, or just generic mainstream things I have or can buy anywhere for less, not cutting edge really pretty things.
