Blue Flower Hair Clip Set (retail price unavailable, similar style on eBay)
When I see big flower hair pieces like this it makes me think of the incomparable and iconic, Billie Holiday. As soon as I saw these in my box, I felt compelled to pair it with my new Eloquii blue velvet dress. The flower barrettes are hand-made (per the tag that is attaching the flower to the clip). I have made similar hair clips years ago and an accessory like this is not hard to replicate with a trip to your local craft store. It is an easy piece to make and for little money, so I am not terribly impressed with the inclusion of these barrettes in this month’s box.
Gold Striped Button Earrings (retail price unavailable, similar on eBay)
I am quite the connoisseur of vintage button earrings. I have a big collection of them from flea markets and thrift stores alike. I don’t wear them as often as I used to, but I still appreciate the style. These gold costume jewelry post earrings are rather lightweight and won’t weigh down your earlobes. The gold will pair fantastically with all the holiday jewel tones for this season.
Retro Rhinestone Embellished Cat Eye Sunglasses - Retail Value $9.99
I am so excited to see another pair of cat eye sunglasses in this month’s box! I loved the sunglasses included in September’s box, but sadly they broke in my purse a few weeks ago. Both this month and September’s glasses were a bit of a smaller frame than I typically wear, but I loved both just the same! These plastic tortoiseshell cat eyes fit wonderfully on my full face and I love the gorgeous rhinestone details on the front and the arms. These gorgeous cat eyes are such a versatile value; they will look great with casual and dressy ensembles alike!
Vintage Inspired Silver Knotted Post Earrings — Retail Value $10
I was extremely pleased with the treat that Pinup in a Pack included for me! These earrings scream Joan Holloway from Mad Men, so obviously I love them! These earrings have silver and matte finishes to add dimension to the knot design. They aren’t lightweight like the pair included in November’s box, but not so heavy they will make your earlobes droop. These will pair fantastically with a vintage style wiggle dress, but also will look great with modern day ensembles too.
If you read my October Pinup in a Pack review, you might remember that I received a pair of earrings missing a rhinestone. I wrote to them and Pinup in a Pack were incredibly accommodating and sent me a replacement pair and an additional pair for the inconvenience! They sent a sweet little handwritten note apologizing for the wait.
Glitzy Spoopy Spider Earrings — Retail Value $1.99
Very happy to see these back with me and with all their rhinestones in place! I will have to hold on to these for next Halloween’s shenanigans!
Verdict: This box was a hit and a miss. My favorite item in this month’s box definitely was the cat-eye glasses. They are adorable and so versatile! I liked the button earrings, but they aren’t an extraordinary piece. I see similar items in thrift stores and flea markets often. The flower barrettes were my least favorite item in this month’s pack, mainly because one can easily replicate those pieces for next to nothing.
I was incredibly pleased with how Pinup in a Pack handled the issue with my spider earrings from last month. I loved the additional earrings they sent me as well. I appreciate their fantastic customer service. I have emailed them about other issues and I am always impressed with how prompt and helpful their responses are. Their dedication to great customer service doesn’t go unnoticed.
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the November box is not available, but you can find similar pieces at Pinup in a Pack. Also, you can sign up for the December box now!
Value Breakdown: This box is $19.99 and that includes free shipping. Three items are included in each box making their estimated value around $6.66 each. The sunglasses alone in this box retail at $9.99 which would mean the two other pieces plus shipping and handling would make up the remaining $10.
What do you think of Pinup in a Pack? What was your favorite piece this month?
