Toy Box On The Go December 2017 Review
I received an information card that highlights exactly what you can expect from Toy Box On The Go, how to get in touch with them, and ways to share your box to their social media channels. I also received this hand-written note from the person that curated the box that I received! I love this part of the box because it makes the whole experience feel extra special, the details are what counts!
Melissa & Doug: Created by Me Monster Truck - Retail Value $4.99
This was the coolest toy that I would have never purchased on my own! The monster truck is super easy to assemble, plus the glue is even included. Then, your little one can paint the truck in whatever way their imagination takes them! My son is obsessed with painting so this was the perfect craft that kept him busy for a while. The wooden monster truck is great to put on display or for your little one to play with.
Magnetic Mini Sketch - Retail Value $3.91
A toy that really took me back to my youth! The magnetic screen has multi-colored layers so you won't know what color comes up when you start to draw. Super fun! The pen is attached to the mini sketch pad making taking these out a breeze. There is also a magnetic corner that makes this great to put up on the refrigerator or something like that. My son loved playing with this little toy in the car and it acted as a nice distraction for him when we were out to dinner. A truly timeless toy!
Melissa & Doug: Paint With Water - Retail Value $4.99
I am a stay at home Mom so receiving crafts like this are a huge plus! This little booklet is filled with 20 pages of animal pictures, but what you might not notice is that there are a row of paint colors at the top of each page. All your little one has to do is dip the included paintbrush into water, dap the paint color they want to use, and then bam they will get a beautiful watercolor painting! This was so easy to just clip to my son's easel to let him just go and paint page after page.
Melissa & Doug: Santa's Workshop Stickers - Retail Value $4.99
My son has played with this sticker set multiple times every day for almost a week now, he loves it so much! The stickers are all reusable and thicker than a normal sticker. Each character is beautifully painted and some have a lovely glitter on them. The booklet has a front and back, an outdoor scene, and then a Santa's workshop scene. My son is really starting to love Christmas so he has had a blast moving around the stickers and even naming the characters!
Crayola Modeling Dough - Buy a 12 pack for $9.99
Oh, Play-Doh you are such a mess but so much fun! My son has fallen in love with play-doh and this little guy was no exception. Inside are two rolls of play-doh that you can push through to give the character some red or blue hair. My son thought this was a bit weird and it was honestly super hard to push through so we ended up not really using that part of the toy. The container lid has a cute elephant stamp on it that you can push into your play-doh. I love how much this fun craft allows my son to use his hands and imagination!
Crayola Model Magic, 3 pack - Retail Value $3.49
These little packets are filled with model clay. It is thicker, doesn't crumble, and can be molded in sturdy designs. Plus, you can color the molds with markers or paint. The clay itself is a bit harder to manipulate into a design so my son struggled with it a bit at first. I decided to let him paint cutouts that I made of the clay from cookie cutters. This was a great activity for us to do on a cold winter day. I will be buying more packets of this clay for sure!
Winter Sticker Set - Retail Value $1.25
Give me all of the stickers! My son could sit and make pictures with stickers for hours. I loved this fun roll of characters all dressed up for the winter season. We used these on our letter to Santa which really helped to make it festive!
World of Reading Puppy Dog Pals Ice, Ice, Puggy - Retail Value $4.99 (found here for $3.61)
These World of Reading books are so great to build your little one's confidence when they are learning how to read. Plus, the stories and pictures are so much fun! Puppy Dog Pals are a big hit in my house so it was fun reading what snowy adventures they were getting into. While my son is far off from starting to read, I will be holding onto them for him to use when he does!
Gingerbread House Sticker Set - Buy a pack of 4 for $15.09
Another super fun and festive sticker set! In this set, you get a paper gingerbread house and the sticker accessories. You and your little one can design a gingerbread house with each of these stickers. I have never built an actual gingerbread house so this was fun to "build one" with my son, stickers are way easier if you ask me!
Reindeer Figurine - Estimated Value $2.00
My son, even though he is still little, has a large collection of action figures of all kinds. He calls them his guys and he loves to put them in boxes, stack them, carry them from place to place, and knock them over. This little reindeer was quickly added to that collection and has become a favorite! He didn't believe me that this was a reindeer, but at least he likes him.
Holiday Rubber Stamps - Estimated Value $4.00
We received rubber stamps in our last Toy Box On The Go, but my son is a bit too young for this type of craft. Instead of stamping them, he just rubbed them all over his hand and tried to scratch off the stamp. It was a mess! I decided to keep these for myself and used them on the envelopes for our Christmas cards. A fun craft for Mom!
Surprizamals - Retail Value $4.99
We see commercials for Surprizamals all the time, but I have never bought one for my son. He was very excited to see this little ball in the box and quickly opened it to see what animal was inside. We got Paige the Polar Bear! She is so cute with sweet little eyes. My son was so excited to get this little animal, and what a fun collection to start.
Snowman Snowflake Ornament Craft Kit - Estimated Value $6.48
I wasn't able to find this exact craft kit online, but it looks like there are still a few similar ones available. This little craft is perfect to do with your little one on a cold day. My son had a blast building this snowman, but it is a bit tricky so I had to give him a good amount of assistance. In the end, you are left with an adorable ornament that you can keep for years to come. Mine did get a bit bent while we were making it so not the prettiest finished product, but it was such a fun craft to do together!
Sticky Note Pad - Estimated Value $7.99
Last but not least was a little something special for Mom! This beautiful sticky notepad is perfect to keep in a drawer on my island where I can quickly make notes or my grocery list for the week. I love the hardcover that it comes in which makes writing a breeze. Such a thoughtful gift!
Verdict: Toy Box On The Go coming in hot with all of the crafts! This month's box was packed full of so many different craft projects, toys, and books for my son to enjoy. Since I am home with my son full-time, I am constantly looking for ways to keep him entertained. Toy Box On The Go has basically provided me well over a week's worth of activities. We have already gotten so much use out of many of the paint sets, the stickers, and the play-doh. I am starting to depend on Toy Box On The Go to help me with my craft time, and so far they have really come through!
