Healthiest Baby December 2017 Review
Previous boxes have come with an information card that offers some advice for the season, but this month is a little different. 21 Bundles is in the process of rebranding as Healthiest Baby, and this refresh aligns with their sister shop, Healthiest, in which you can buy items that you'll find in your monthly boxes. I'm loving the new look and feel -- especially all of the bright colors in their box and info card design!
Each box comes with a sticker that coordinates with your child's age. If you're currently pregnant, it reflects how far along you are in your pregnancy. This is a nice detail that I always enjoy since it makes for a personalized-feeling experience!
Ora's Amazing Herbal Baby Salve, 1 oz - Retail value $11.99
This multi-use balm is all natural, and paraben and fragrance-free. It can be used as a diaper cream, baby ointment, or moisture barrier to prevent baby neck rash. The salve has a light herbal scent that's barely detectable and its consistency is comparable to that of cool, compressed coconut oil.
My son isn't prone to diaper rash, so I often times skip applying any product on his bottom. Instead, I opted for using the salve on his neck and some dry patches on his body after a bath. The product blends in nicely, and I love how soft it left my baby feeling!
Jack N' Jill Baby Gum & Tooth Wipes, 25p - Retail Value $7.99
These wipes are to be used after feedings to clean your baby's mouth. It's not something I plan on doing all that often, but I understand that it's necessary to get in there from time to time in order to ensure proper cleanliness. However, these do seem a bit... extravagant. Each wipe is individually wrapped making them convenient for travel, but, at home, you could just as easily use a damp washcloth.
Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm, 15 ml (2) - Buy a 2 oz jar for $8.32
Angel Baby products have been a huge staple for me recently! I love that this diaper balm is organic and contains soothing antibacterial and antifungal organic herbs. It's another multi-tasking product that can be applied to other areas of the body as well.
Aden + Anais Silky Soft Burpy Bib - Retail Value $12.95 (found here for $9.99)
What a terrific item! I have multiple burp clothes (some are just cloth diaper clothes -- nothing fancy whatsoever), but none as soft as this one. This cloth has a rounded shape that fits comfortably and snuggly around your baby's head or on one of your shoulders. The viscose fabric is made from bamboo, and, like I mentioned, SUPER SOFT. It also features a reversible design. A blue and grey, subtly metallic geometric print on one side and a chic stripe on the other. I really like that snaps are sewed into the bib so that you can securely fasten it around your baby's neck. For now, I'll just be using it as a good old-fashioned burp cloth though. It's nice to know that this item will grow with us!
CB GO Chewbeads Baby Silicone Car Seat and Stroller Toy - Retail Value $15.00
This soft silicone teething toy safely attaches to car seat handles, stroller bars, and playpens. Super convenient for an on-the-go mom. I've recently been introduced to pacifier clips (lifesaver) and have been on the hunt for a toy for our carseat that will keep my little one occupied as he grows. The yellow loop end of this toy easily attached to our car seat handle and can be removed and switched to another surface in a pinch. I'm loving the rainbow variation that I received, but it's also nice that many different color schemes are offered.
Yorba Organics Family Hand Wash - Retail Value $5.97
A 100% natural hand wash, this formula is cruelty, fragrance, and paraben free with organic baobab fruit extract to provide antioxidants and support skin health. It lathers nicely and has a pleasant scent. More than anything, though, I noticed that it doesn't leave my hands as dry as the other soaps I've stocked our home with. Considering all the hand-washing we've been doing with a new baby during flu season, that's super appreciated!
Caboo Bamboo & Sugarcane Facial Tissue, 12 tissues - Buy 8 packages for $3.59
I love that these tissues are made from sustainable, raw materials (sugarcane and bamboo, ethically harvested) and are 100% biodegradable and free of inks, dyes, and fragrances. That said, they aren't the softest. If you care about natural ingredients, though, these are the perfect size to throw in your diaper bag for quick clean-up.
Verdict: 21 Bundles, rebranding to Healthiest Baby, continues to be one of the boxes that I look forward to most each month! The assortment and quality are always superb. The rebranding didn't seem to alter the approach that 21 Bundles took to product selection, too, which I super appreciate! At $42.99 for the box + shipping, each item averages out to a value of $6.15. That's pretty reasonable considering some of the more significant items like the Aden + Anais bib and stroller toy!
