Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription box for men. Each month, you'll receive 3-4 sample size items to try along with another lifestyle item that you can select. The selection process opens about a month before shipping and, typically, allows you to pick 1 of 3 selection items.
Birchbox Man is now split into two options - Birchbox Man Plus and a new $10 version, Birchbox Man - Check out the October $10 option in our previous review.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

January 2018 Birchbox Man Review
The January theme is 'Gym Class'.
It comes with an information card that lists out all of your items along with their full-size values - I'll do my best to break these down based on the product sizes sent!
This month also came with a $10 off $50 purchase coupon code.
TRNDlabs Touchscreen Gloves - Value $19
Each month, Birchbox Man allows you to select one lifestyle item for your upcoming box. I decided to try the gloves.
With it being freezing cold over the past 3-4 weeks now, gloves are a part of everyday life. My biggest gripe with this type of glove is that I hate losing all tactile feelings when I'm wearing them - especially when driving.
These are a little different - they have grippy areas across the entire face of the glove - they are SO great. I've been wearing them every day, especially in the car - and they're touchscreen compatible all over - not just at the point of your finger. I can't say enough about these!
They also passed along a unique code for 50% off of another pair - I might have to take them up on that.
Journeymen Cypress/Smoke Bodywash - Value $1.85 based on $15 full-size price
This is my favorite self-care item from the box - here's a bit of info from the Birchbox website:
This all-American workhorse gets the job done. Formulated with aloe vera and amino acids, it effectively washes away dirt and grime while also soothing your skin and keeping you moisturized. Scented with cypress leaf and smoky cedar, you might just start finding yourself in the shower more than you’re used to.
One brand that I've learned to LOVE from Birchbox Man is Das Boom - if you like those types of scents, then you'll fall for this brand, too - I know I have!
Cliff Original Moisturizer - Value $4.50 based on $18 full-size cost
If you're looking for a straight-forward moisturizer that is scent-free - then this little daily face wash can do the trick. It doesn't leave any type of oil residue, either - it's a great basic item.
Here's more detail from Birchbox:
Oils and lightweight aren’t often synonymous, but this all-natural moisturizer puts that to rest. Formulated with plant and essential oils, this non-greasy moisturizer nourishes, protects, and has a light finish.
Menaji Lip Balm Agent - Value $6.50
I think I have a new favorite lip balm! This peppermint balm uses macadamia and jojoba oils that help protect your lips. This will live in my pocket all winter.
More from Birchbox:
Rather than lock out the moisture necessary for chapped lips to heal, this superior formula promotes regeneration with Vitamin E and macadamia and jojoba oils. To protect against from further environmental damage, it also creates a shield between lips and outdoor air, complete with SPF 15.
Brickell Clarifying Gel Face Wash - Value $1.58 based on $25 full-size version
Brickell is kind of a household product name for me now after years of subscription boxes - so I know exactly what I'm getting with this face wash. It has a really smooth coconut-y smell, more for a relaxing shower than one where I'm trying to wake up.
More from Birchbox:
Nature works its magic with this cleanser that forgoes harsh chemicals in favor of coconut-based cleansers to wash away oil and grime. It’s also formulated with aloe (to soothe) and geranium, which acts as an anti-septic, giving you a brightened and revitalized complexion.
Montale Aoud Forest - Value ?? ($170 for 100 ml)
The last item is a little sample of cologne. This scent is much too floral for me, though.
More detail form Birchbox:
Inspired by cliffside walks and wooded coastlines, this cologne blends woodsy and maritime scents into a rich, immersive aroma. Top notes of ocean spray, citrus, and ginger lead to heart notes of rosemary and oud wood, followed by a mellow and spicy base of white musk and ambergris.
Verdict: I'm always happy with my Birchbox Man because I'm always picking a good lifestyle item with the Plus option. Becuase of that, I know that the value is pretty much going to be there with just that one item. From there, the samples are a bonus for me, and I've found a few new go-to brands of the past year, so all-in-all I've really liked my monthly box!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The February window for selections is now open. But, all deliveries vary, so you are not guaranteed the same socks as what you see here.
