subscription boxes comparison: boxycharm, glossybox, and beautyfix

Dermstore BeautyFIX
4.1 overall rating

This Boxycharm vs GlossyBox vs BeautyFix series compares my subscriptions every month to give you a good idea what you can expect from these popular beauty subscription boxes. (Boxycharm and GlossyBox are both $21 a month, and BeautyFix is $24.95 a month, so they seemed close enough in cost to compare!)

Check out my Birchbox vs Ipsy vs Sephora Play post series too!

Important to know: With Glossybox and Boxycharm, there are certain items that all subscribers will receive, but the remainder of items in the box will vary. With BeautyFix, all items are the same for all subscribers. (With the exception of perhaps different colors of a beauty item.)

It's tough to pick, but I'm going with the full-size product! It’s super hydrating, and it provides a glossy (non-sticky) finish.

Verdict: Usually Boxycharm is the winner for me, but I think GlossyBox wins for the first time ever! All full-size products that I love! (FYI - this win is based on the products themselves, not GlossyBox customer care, shipping etc. I recommend reading comments on that December review if you are considering subscribing.)

What was your favorite box for December? And what was your favorite product?

Here are my general suggestions for which box to pick:

Boxycharm: If you are looking for full-size makeup, this is the box to go for. They consistently send out makeup in addition to haircare and skincare products. (You will quickly build up an impressive eyeshadow collection with this subscription box!)

GlossyBox: This is the best box if you're looking for trying out brands that you typically don't see in the US. You'll get a mix of US and EU brands. The one downside is that values of these boxes can vary depending on which variation you get, so make sure you're happy with the main spoiler items that everyone gets if you're thinking about signing up. (Please read the comments on GlossyBox reviews, too.)

BeautyFix: This is my go-to box for sampling a lot of high-end skincare products. They usually round out the boxes with a few makeup and haircare products, too. You'll get a mix of full-size and sample-size products.

Ugh stay away from Glossybox! I just finally cancelled after having 2 months in a row of missing items and their customer service is the absolute WORST EVER!
I haven’t tried BeautyFix yet but I have been highly satisfied with Boxy!

Glossybox won for me too. December was an uncharacteristically good box and festive too.

BF, even when it’s not the best value, is still the one I always look forward to the most. However, if BC got into skincare they would be a force to be reckoned with!

I got the color corrector in my Boxycharm & it was my favorite product this month. I know a lot of people hated it but it worked out well for me.

Honestly I didn’t like BeautyFIX or glossybox so the winner for me is boxycharm 100%! And usually BeautyFIX is my favorite or glossybox but these December boxes no offense weren’t wow factored at all so boxycharm really impressed me. Glossybox was a ok box but a lot of it was stuff things I’ve already received like the highlighter, makeup dropper, and got the eyeliner in allure as well so I don’t need repeat products.
