The Cloth & Paper Stationery Subscription Box is a monthly stationery subscription box from lifestyle and stationery shop, Cloth & Paper.

In addition to the Stationery Subscription Box, Cloth & Paper offers a pens-and-pencils-focused subscription called "Penspiration," as well as a subscription that's the two boxes combined into one. With the Stationery subscription (what I'm reviewing today), you can expect 5-8 items, including desk items like paper pads, pens, note cards, and journals, as well as some occasional lifestyle goodies.

The info card, instead of listing the items included, directs you to their blog to see how to use this month's contents. Sadly, they haven't posted any info for December yet though. Hopefully soon?

The flipside has a Malcolm Gladwell quote: "The visionary starts with a clean sheet of paper, and reimagines the world."

black 2018 cloth and paper planner

Black Spiral Bound 2018 Weekly Planner

January means a new year and a fresh start so I'm glad that Cloth & Paper sent this planner ahead of time to get cracking.

The cover is a really nice minimal design with a glossy black "2018" against a black textured heavy stock paper. You'll see a matte "January 18-December 18" inside the 1 as well.

On the first page is a space to write your name to identify who the planner belongs to.

Next is the positive affirmation "I AM ICONIC" which honestly reminds me of Shaq's single from 1993, "I'm Outstanding".

Here's the meat of the planner- the weekly overview that spans over both pages.

In the top left, you'll notice a space for notes.

And here's a close up of what each day looks like. A place to put the date and circle the day of the week. I have always liked planners that allowed you to write in the date so that you can use them in any year, or if you're like me, continue in the present if you stopped using the planner for an extended period of time. Having that been said, I'm not sure why they put "January 18- December 18" on the cover...

blush pink bumblebee notecards

Blush Pink Bumblebee Notecards

The next item doesn't excite me as much but is still a very nice stationery gift. This set of 12 blush pink notecards are blank except for a detailed bumblebee illustration in the bottom right corner. You can use these to jot a note to pop into a gift for a friend or just to say hello.

index sticky notes

Index Sticky Notes

How cute is the design of these sticky notes? Bonus: they are BIC brand and have the perfect amount of stickiness that is hard to get right and super valued by a stationery nerd like myself.

2 pads of index sticky notes

You'll receive two pads of sticky notes with the same design that measure four by three inches and look like little index cards or notebook paper (sans holes).

I love the really delicate lines and "NO." at the top left corner. Sara was just looking for sticky notes to make a note, so I'm going to toss one of these on her desk!

brass scissors on packaging card

Brass Scissors

Oh yeah! The pièce de résistance of this box, in my opinion! I used to collect scissors (had to scale back for fear of becoming too much of a hoarder) and these immediately delighted me.

brass scissors

I don't have a pair of brass scissors, so these are a real treat to add to the paired down collection I now have. They also happen to match some of the brass items I received in past Cloth & Paper boxes! Wheeee!

The handles are lined with black rubber for comfort, but also make these look really slick. A beautiful piece to join the rest of my desk accessories at work!

cloth and paper pen box black and gold executive pen

Black and Gold Executive Rollerball Pen

I think I've said this before, but I normally don't go for "executive" style pens, but THIS ONE, oh my. It's heavy yet still slim and feels nice in my hand as I write.

Made of coated metal, this sleek black pen has a gold accent and clip, and black ink.

The point size of this is dreamy and has a slightly scratchy quality which I really love, although it still flows with ease. This is a joy to write with! I'm very pleased.

Verdict: Cloth & Paper Stationery Box is on a roll, y'all. This is the third month in a row that has really wowed me. I don't like this one as much as last month, but the scissors, pen, and planner are all really awesome! The cost of this box is $38.00 and I received five premium stationery and office goodies. Keep it going, C&P!!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sadly, no. Subscribe by the 17th to receive the next box, but January is already sold out! Check back here to see when the February box is available.

Value Breakdown: At $38 for this box, you're paying about $7.60 per item/group of items.

Ummm… I am assuming that that Jan 18 to Dec 18 means Jan 2018 – Dec 2018? That’s what it looks like to me.

Oh, I assume so too. I just mean in general since it’s not dated inside, I thought it was strange that they put the dates in there. You can start it or stop it anytime you want since you manually write in the dates. 🙂

I love the bee notecards! Not quite a Napoleonic bee, but close enough to appeal. Bees in real life are a hard nope, but I can’t help but love bees on upholstery and stationery!

I have Crane and Co notecards with a single embossed gold bee in the top center which I hoard and only use for very special occasions.

This looks like a great box Marne, those scissors are so pretty.

I would’ve ordered this if I’d seen the contents spoiler or the review early enough to buy in December. I hope if they’re going to include a planner next year that they send December’s box earlier for review.

Agreed. Every item in this box is an item I’d use and enjoy or enjoy giving to the perfect person in mind. Now, it’s on February’s box without spoilers, so…
