Cohorted Beauty Box is a luxe beauty subscription box from the UK - and they are now shipping worldwide!

This subscription comes in a box within a box, so the inner box is pristine and would be great to keep for storage:

Complete with ribbon!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Cohorted Beauty Box

The Cost: £35.00 + shipping for international customers (My total cost was £47.49 = $62.92 USD)

The Products: A mix of beauty + makeup items. (Cohorted hasn't made any full-size guarantees, but from what I can tell you'll receive at least a few full-size items each month.)

FYI - usually this box comes with a booklet, but mine was missing from the box. (You can check out the digital form of the booklet, though!

Cargo Cosmetics Around the World Eye Shadow Palette – Value $34

(FYI - I received this palette from Cohorted in the September box. According to their online booklet, I should have received the Cargo Emerald City Palette instead. I emailed them about the product mix up, and I'll update this review once I hear back with their resolution.)

UPDATE: Cohorted customer care responded and they are sending me the correct palette.

This palette has a magnetic flap closure and a combo brush with a blender brush on one end and a liner brush on the other end. There are 6 matte and 6 shimmer shades.

Here it is swatched:

Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Obvi - Retail Value $20

(Subscribers either received this or Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Ritzy.)

This is a pale rosy shade with good pigment and a glossy finish. (I've sampled their matte version of this lip paint, so it was nice to try the gloss!) The formula is moisturizing and non-sticky, too. The color is a little more light than I usually go, but this is great for a no-makeup look.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner – .04 oz Value $11.40

This eyeliner is waterproof and the felt tip marker makes it super easy to apply a straight line, too. The pigment is excellent, too.

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Becca Shadow and Light Brow Contour Mousse in Cocoa - Retail Value $25 (Currently 50% off on Becca's site.)

This product is one part brow mousse, one part browbone highlighter:

This is the lightest of the shades Becca offers, and the brow color is too light for me, but I tried it and I liked the formula. (It coats brow hairs to make brows look fuller.) And the highlighter is creamy and easy to blend for above and below your brows to create a defined look.

Here are both swatched beneath the lip gloss and eyeliner:

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $90.40. I paid about $63 (including shipping to the US). I think this box is a great deal if you live in the UK and get free shipping. For me, to pay this kind of money on an imported beauty box, I'm hoping for all full-sized items that I don't usually see in US beauty boxes.

This box was a mixed bag for me. I liked trying out the tarte lip gloss and the Becca brow product, but getting the wrong Cargo palette, and a sample sized Eyeko liner wasn't exciting. Hopefully, Cohorted resolves the palette issue. (And I've had a few issues now with incorrect products in boxes, so I'm hoping those get straightened out in 2018!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No.

Value Breakdown: At $63 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Eyeshadow Palette: $23.69
  • Lip Gloss: $13.93
  • Eyeliner: $7.94
  • Becca: $17.42

That happened to me too with the Cargo palette from Cohorted but I didn’t worry about it. Yes, I have 3 or 4 of that palette, but I use it a lot and have hit pan on 8 of the shades in my first palette. Plus, I have the Emerald City palette (I bought it when it first came out). I do like it, but I don’t use it as often as I use the Around the World palette, so I’m better off with backup of that one. I’d say it’s one of the two palettes I use the most often in my entire collection.

Wow, this is like the 50th box that Cargo palette has appeared in! ;D Good thing it’s a nice palette! I got mine from the PSMH women’s Winter box last year.

I can’t believe this box is 63 dollars a month. It just seem really high. I feel you can the same brands and the amount of items in Boxy for 21 dollars with free shipping. I’m not saying that these aren’t some sweet brands in this box and a great mix of different products as well. Just seems high of a price tag, specially when they sent out the wrong palette that just came in the September box, and no info card either…It’s cool that they are sending you out the right palette though.

When I used to follow this box (it’s been a while, so either last year or in 2016), even in the U.K., reviewers always had issues with this box. From getting duplicated items, damaged items, not getting spoiled items, to bad (i.e. non-existent) CS. When MSA started to review the box I was intrigued again, but last I checked (it’s been a few months) their website was missing some essentials, like how to cancel the box. This one had a few too many red flags for me to even consider to potentially subscribing to.

Oh God.. the Around the World palette was one of my longest-running albatrosses on the swap site.

I got it for like $15 at Kohl’s before Christmas! I LOVE it, the colors are gorgeous and blend so well!

I would have been pretty bummed to get the tarte when other subscribers would get something from huda beauty. Huda is a brand I would love to try but is never included.

Yeah, tarte is nice, but kind of a been-there-done-that brand. Huda on the other hand…

Agree that this is probably a great box for UK subscribers, but ho-hum for Americans.
