Inspire Me Home Decor is a relatively new home decor subscription box. Each month you'll receive a box curated by Inspire Me founder, Farah Merhi.

(We're reviewing this box thanks to requests from MSA readers!)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Everything was packaged securely wrapped in bubble paper and arrived intact. (Super important for a home goods box!)

The Subscription Box: Inspire Me Home Decor Subscription Box

The Cost: $99.99

The Products: Each month you will receive hand picked décor and accents that can be styled together or separately. Each box you receive includes décor items themed around a specific space in your home.

Ships to: US only.

This box comes with a set of cards that detail the items included.

There's a letter from Farah and an itemized card:

And she also included pictures for tips on how to style your items:

Now, on to the items!

Mercury Apothecary Jar - Value $65.99

WOW! This is a big piece! The vase measures 18 inches tall (7 inches across), and the lid adds an extra 7 inches. (I'm super impressed that they shipped such a large item!)

I think this would also look lovely without the lid as a vase for some artificial flowers or branches. (Not sure if the material is safe for water.)

Large Mercury Candle Holder - Estimated Value $20?

These candle holders match the Apothecary Jar well. The large one measures about 12 inches tall and each hold your standard pillar candle.

(I would have loved if Inspire Me had included candles to go with these holders.)

Small Mercury Candle Holder - Estimated Value $15?

This candle holder measures about 9 inches tall and is the same width as the larger candle.

Crystal Bead Garland - Estimated Value $15?

This is the item in the box that confused me! I've never decorated with a garland before, but Inspire Me recommends wrapping it around the Apothecary Jar lid topper.

I think I might end up using this as a fancy way to dress up a wine bottle as a gift.

Gold Link Star - Estimated Value $20?

Hm, this item doesn't seem to be the same style of the other items in the box, but I appreciate that they've included items that look nice together without all matching too much. And we have a large bookshelf in our living room that needs some decorative objects, so this is a perfect addition for a shelf accessory!

Verdict: This box has an estimated retail value of about $136. I had to guess on the values for most of the items, so this value might be off. I think for most home boxes the question comes up, "Could I buy similar items for less at Home Goods, TJ Maxx, etc?" If you're a bargain hunter and like putting together your own styled looks, I'd recommend going that route. If you see a value in getting coordinated items delivered to you complete with styling tips, I think this would be a great box.

I am not any good at going to home decorating stores and putting items together (unless they are on display that way) so if the funds were available, I would be someone who would want this box.

As for Sundae Home (someone mentioned) I got their first two boxes and was not impressed at all for the money.

I have to say I think Sundae Home is a much better value – i’ve gotten their boxes from the start and love them,’they are half the cost of this box, have had at least as much value as this one, and the items are beautiful.

Thanks for reviewing this box! I recently canceled after a three-month subscription because I had no more space for decor, but I’ve really enjoyed the items I’ve received. (And I’m pretty fussy about what I buy.) The December Box was particularly great—I have a bricked-up fireplace, and the jar and candleholders are perfect for the hearth. They also go really well with one of the large candle holders I received in a previous box!

Liz, have you checked out Sundae Home for a home box sub? I have received 3 of their boxes so far and have been happy with the items that were sent.

It’s nice box but I wish they kept the seasonal box instead. It more expensive ($200) and it was quarterly but you get about 8-10 pieces maybe more. I think that’s a way better deal and you get a theme for each season/holiday.

Liz nailed this review.

I love Mercury glass, but wow that’s a LOT of mercury glass! It’s really more of an accent finish, for me. This box is also really expensive!

It’s pretty, and I would use any of those pieces, but the advice to go spelunking at home goods is pretty accurate.

I agree. But that is what would make this a good sub for me. I have tried to find home accessories at in stores and get overwhelmed by the options or just find poor quality merchandise in a disorganized store. I also have NO TIME! Value is in the curation!

Wow. That seems extremely season and taste-specific. And I agree the gold star does not fit with the rest. All in all, it seems like a strange box.
