Loved + Blessed January 2018 Review

Loved and Blessed January 2018 booklet

This month’s Loved + Blessed theme is “Unlimited.”

There is a theme card that’s on the inside of the front lid of the box.

Mini Poster

This month’s mini poster says, “God’s tools are UNLIMITED” with an infinity symbol underneath and on the back, “He’s able” with the infinity symbol. The theme is “Unlimited,” and the infinity symbol displays throughout the box which connects to the overall topic. The infinity symbol also called the lemniscate, has the shape of the number eight on its side, was introduced by John Wallis in 1655. A few meanings of this symbol, it was used in India and Tibet to represent perfection, dualism, and unity between a man and a woman. Also, in mathematics, it represents a concept of value greater than any finite numerical value, total time without a beginning or end. Lastly, there is no direct correlation of the symbol in Christianity, but it can be a reminder of “God’s infinite power” and how God is eternal, all-powerful. Each may perceive the meaning differently, for me, it represents infinite possibilities of faith and hope and no limits to what I can achieve and symbolizing two people coming together in unity.

Reminder Sticker

Reminder Sticker

This month’s reminder sticker says, “but God...”. “But can be a limiting word, often used as an objection, and putting limitations on God on what we think is possible.” This same word, “but God…” gives hope as seen in the Bible when we see “but God…” and afterward the miracles that take place. Check out their blog post and downloadable workbook, “Unlimited” here.

Romans 4: 18-21 NIV scripture card

Scripture Card

The scripture for the month is from Romans 4: 18-21 NIV, “Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, 'So shall your offspring be.' Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” All this is God’s “Unlimited,” infinite power displayed throughout Abraham and Sarah.

Infinity Case - Estimated Value $10.00

This small grey case has the infinity symbol on the front, zips open, and has two compartments. One side has a stretchy mesh holder, and the other side has a zippered compartment with Love + Blessed inscribed on the front. Love + Blessed suggest to use as a cosmetics bag, travel toiletry case or as a gadget case for my cords and electronics. Great suggestions, I may try one.

Encouragement Kit

Loved + Blessed include an Encouragement Kit with every subscription box. I love the idea of an encouragement kit. It is meant to be passed on to a stranger or as an encouragement for someone I know. The encouragement kit this month includes a mini-poster and blank card to write a note, the mini poster is the same from this month’s box. Love + Blessed encourages me to use the blank card to write a heartfelt note, give a gift that relates to the theme or add homemade cookies.

Verdict: This month’s Loved + Blessed box was not particularly appealing, the main item (the infinity case) in this months box did support the theme, but it didn’t interest me. However, I’m sure I will put it to use. This box does deliver on encouraging my soul and sending products that represent their theme. Since we receive mini posters, reusable stickers, and scripture cards each month, it would be wise to include a holder/case for these items and add more of a variety of Christian products that are designed and manufactured for Love + Blessed. The subscription is $19.99 a month, and some months the value of the main item that relates to their theme exceeds the cost of the box, which I like. But their boxes don’t have a monetary value; their value comes in encouraging their subscribers. The infinity case was below the value of the box, I did give an estimated value of the item, and I’m not sure if it values the cost of the subscription. Also, maybe switch up the encouragement kit and add a notebook, or a laminated mini poster or a mini-devotional book. Overall, I receive encouragement from their boxes and themes as well, being uplifted and convicted from the scripture cards they send.
