Penny + Grace January 2018 Review
Here's the info card for the pack, which lists the products inside.
Bonus Item: Enamel Alpaca Pin - Estimated Value $10.00
Every Penny + Grace pack arrives inside a black canvas bag topped with a bonus pin. This month, it's an itty bitty alpaca! I love it! It's a crisp white enamel pin that's about an inch big. I love how quirky and cartoony it is.
Stella Beaded Stacking Ring, Size 6 - Listed Value $10.95
When you sign up for Penny + Grace, you'll get to note your ring size. This simple band is the first ring I can remember getting from Penny + Grace, and I love it. Like the bracelets, earrings, and necklaces I'm used to getting, it's super simple. But simple's what I like, particularly when it comes to rings. This little design is really lightweight—perfect for stacking with other looks or just wearing by itself for a tiny bit of shine.
Blair Bracelet - Retail Value $18.00
My first few packs from Penny + Grace all had similar designs, in that they usually featured differently shaped charms on relatively simple chains. In the last few packs, however, I've noticed that Penny + Grace has started to break from just swapping the charms and has started featuring new kinds of minimalist design elements. The ball-shaped beads on this 7" bracelet are a great example of that. I love how understated, yet sophisticated this bracelet is. The beads are really comfortable against my wrist, and the gold has a bright shine to it. (It's closer to a pure gold color than a yellowy gold.)
Blair Necklace - Listed Value $22.00
There's a necklace to match the bracelet, too! The chain measures about 18" and is just as light and easy to wear as the bracelet. There are three loops that you can secure the lobster claw clasp to starting at the 16" mark. Again, I love the simplicity and the modern, fresh vibes of this look. It'll look great worn with the bracelet, by itself, or layered with some other understated looks.
The Verdict: I liked this month's assortment a lot. I love me some cute charms, but the more sophisticated, understated designs on display in this month's pack were a great break fromPenny + Grace's norm. I've been soooo happy with Penny + Grace's quality, too—I wear the pieces I've gotten from this subscription often, and so far, nothing's turned my neck green, nothing's snapped, and they all still look relatively bright. I'm excited to pop this month's pieces into a bunch of different outfits, from the day-to-day to the fun and fancy.
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The January box is sold out, so you'll receive the February pack. Here's what Penny + Grace says on their site about timing:
Value Breakdown: The box was $19.99, and the estimated value of the featured items inside is $50.95. Add the bonus pin to that, which I estimate is worth about $10.00, and the value is about $60.95. That means the approximate, proportional amount that I paid for each item via this subscription is...
- Pin - $3.28
- Ring - $3.59
- Bracelet - $5.90
- Necklace - $7.22
