SCRIBEdelivery December 2017 Review
The December SCRIBEdelivery parcel hasn't got a specific theme, but Holly and Chad decided to wrap up the year by sending some of their favorite tools. I get a lot of subscription boxes with fancy cards, but the simple letter from SCRIBEdelivery is my favorite because they go into so much detail about what makes each item special.
Musgrave 1816 #2 Pencil – Total Retail Value $0.50 ($0.25 each)
These round pencils have been made in the USA since 1816. I like the natural look, but I miss having an eraser on the end.
Design Works Standard Issue Notebook #12 – Retail Value $16
This notebook has 192 lined pages and is acid-free, which helps prevent the pages from becoming yellow over time. It has a little piece of elastic on the front to hold a pen or pencil. The old-fashioned aesthetic of the notebook and pencil match really well!
The inside cover has space for personal info, a time zone map of the US and a ruler in inches.
Poketo Weekly Planner Keyboard Pad in Lilac – Retail Value $9
This pad is meant to sit near your keyboard so that you can see your week at a glance. I'll use this to note all the meetings I have to attend throughout the week. It has 60 sheets, so it will last over a year!
Northbooks Dots A5 Softcover Notebook – Retail Value $13.99 (found here for $9.99)
This notebook is made in the USA. The inside pages have a dot grid pattern, which certainly seems to be a favorite of SCRIBEdelivery. (I'm not complaining though because it's my favorite too.)
.5mm Pentel Vicuna Feel Multi-Color Pen – Estimated Value $6
This pen has a clip that opens wide, so it can clip onto thick documents easily. Another neat thing about this pen is that it's made so that you can attach charms on top, the kind that usually go in a phone's headphone jack. I've always liked multi-ink pens, but they're rare in subscription boxes, so I was glad to see this.
I wasn't expecting this pen to write well; most multi-colored pens don't. I was pleasantly surprised though: the ink flowed well and the .5mm tip was perfect for my small handwriting.
Verdict: I liked all the items this month, and the value was great. There were a lot of familiar brands this time since this month's curation was based on favorite items. It did feel a little repetitive, but the items are all useful and have a classic appeal. My favorite discovery this month is the Pentel Vicuna pen.
