The BAM! Horror Box December 2017 Review
This month’s box included items from Freddy Vs. Jason, Krampus, I Spit On Your Grave, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Silent Night Deadly Night, and a 1/1 custom signed sketch card from sketch artist, Bianca Thompson.
Please Note: Our delivery arrived without the normal information booklet.
Silent Night Deadly Night Enamel Pin - Estimated Value $10
Each month comes with an enamel BAM pin. I am not sure what all the variants this month were without the booklet, but I am extremely pleased with this pin! Silent Night Deadly Night is a movie my little brother and I tend to watch every Christmas Eve. It is the gift that keeps on slaying!
Matthew played by Chad Lindberg of I Spit on Your Grave Signed Photo
This month included a signed photograph from Michael from I Spit on Your Grave. This month didn’t include a booklet, so I am not sure the number of variants and if this is the rarest of the photos. The photo, as always, includes a certificate of authenticity.
Krampus Bell Replica Ornament from Krampus by Weta Workshop — Estimated Value $14.99
Now, this may be the coolest replica in a BAM! Horror Box I have received so far! This perfectly distressed metal bell looks exactly like the infamous one from the movie. I appreciated this inclusion for personal reasons since my family and I went to a Krampusnacht event this past holiday season. I can’t wait to see my little cousin’s reaction when I show this to her. She was convinced Krampus was going to punish her at the event. I know my little brother will appreciate this prop replica at least since we saw it together in the theaters! I won’t be jangling a chain of bells at BAM! for this killer selection!
BAM Exclusive Horror Sketch card by Bianca Thompson 1/1
HOLY SMOKES! This is a sketch card drawn by illustrator, Bianca Thompson. It is pretty common to see artists due to sketch cards at comic and horror conventions. I love the idea of having a drawing made just for you, so this ultra-unique piece is one of my favorites in this month’s picks. Not only do I like the wild demon werewolf drawing itself, but I love the case the piece is enclosed in too. It will not only display this item but preserve it perfectly as well!
Creature of the Black Lagoon $1,000,000 Bill Print
I know I keep oohing and awing over this box, but it just keeps getting better! I am a fan of the Universal Monsters, especially Frankenstein’s monster and Gill-man. I literally squealed out loud upon seeing this Creature piece! The details and colors used on this faux 1,000,000 bill are fantastic. I am not sure if there were any variants in terms of different scenes, colors, or other Universal Monsters featured due to the booklet not being included, though. Regardless, I am rather content I received Gill-man!
Freddy Vs. Jason print by Chris Kuchta
The cherry on top of December’s excellent offerings is this Freddy Vs. Jason print. I saw this movie with my lifetime BFF when this was in theaters! If you must know I was Team Freddy. I prefer his creepy mind games to Jason’s oafish slasher moves. As a lifetime Freddy fan (I have a burnt copy of his single album release. It is terrible. Youtube it), I was extremely pleased to see this print included. Sadly, I did not receive the booklet for this order and am not sure what the alternative variant of this print looks like. However, I do enjoy the vibrant colors and style of the one I received. This print also comes along with a certificate of authenticity like all art prints BAM! Horror includes in their boxes.
Verdict: I know I have only been reviewing BAM! Horror Box for a few months, but this is my favorite of their boxes yet! The assortment they chose this month was perfect. The only item I was remotely indifferent about was the signed picture because I haven’t seen I Spit on Your Grave yet. The rest of the pieces were home runs in terms of the holiday-themed pieces, the cult status of each, and the uniqueness of the items chosen. In addition, I found the Krampus bell online for $15 alone, so $34.98 for six awesome horror movie memorabilia items is a heck of a deal!
