Healthiest Baby January 2018 Review
Previous boxes have come with an information card that offers some advice for the season, but this month is a little different. 21 Bundles is in the process of rebranding as Healthiest Baby, and this refresh aligns with their sister shop, Healthiest, in which you can buy items that you'll find in your monthly boxes. I'm loving the new look and feel -- especially all of the bright colors in their box and info card design!
Each box comes with a sticker that coordinates with your child's age. If you're currently pregnant, it reflects how far along you are in your pregnancy. This is a nice detail that I always enjoy since it makes for a personalized-feeling experience!
Wee Gallery Art Cards for Baby: Jungle Collection - Retail Value $12.79 (found here for $12.17)
I actually already had the Woodland Collection art cards prior to receiving these. My baby was just starting to become interested in those, so it was great to have another deck on hand for variety's sake! I tossed these in my diaper bag so that I have something to hold his attention while we're out. He's totally fascinated with the black and white graphics, and the bold illustrations are said to stimulate and develop a baby's visual perception. This jungle collection includes 6 sturdy, double-sided 5x7 cards: a Lion, Snake, Parrot, Monkey, Zebra, and Bear.
Lanco 100% Natural Rubber Teether Toy - Retail Value $9.99 (found on sale here for $5.80)
My boy is not quite in a full-on teething stage just yet, but, when he is, I have a feeling that this toy will be a hit. It's strangely soft for being rubber. The design also makes it easy to grip. I will admit that the whole foot thing isn't my favorite, but I do appreciate a good 'put your foot in your mouth' pun.
Bolli Stretchy Teether Ball - Retail Value $5.99
This stretchy teether is really cool! Like I mentioned, my babe isn't in the throes of teething just yet (getting there!), so we're not at a point where he's chewing. Unlike the other included teething toy, this one has more of a tactile element. Orson is at a stage where he's learning to grasp objects, and the shape of this toy allows him to easily practice this exercise. It's stretchy and bendy which elicits lots of interest for feeling... but, right now, not so much chewing. In the meantime, he continues to drool on himself and gnaw on his fists. 🙂
Earth Mama Angel Baby Lavender Meringue Lip Balm - Retail Value $2.40
This lip balm came at the perfect time! I've been going through the stuff like crazy throughout this whole winter season. And being that I've really loved all of the products that I've tried from Earth Mama Angel Baby, I was excited to give their lip balm a shot. It didn't disappoint. The balm is made with all natural waxes, oils, butters, and extracts. Organic olive oil is actually the main ingredient. It feels lightweight on the lips, and the lavender vanilla scent is seriously incredible! There is no taste. Basically, this is my dream lip balm, and I'm happy to have discovered it.
Acure Baby Fix-It - Retail Value $6.99 (discontinued product)
This organic balm can be used to soothe and heal baby’s scrapes and irritations, but it's multi-purpose in that it can be used for stretch marks, dry patches, and chapped lips as well. It did appear to aid in healing a small scrape on my son's face (those razor sharp baby nails grow out overnight, ugh!), and its texture wasn't too tacky or thick. Super convenient to toss in a bag for emergencies. It does appear that this product has been discontinued, however, according to what I've found online.
Turtle Suction Toy - Estimated Value $5.99 (based on similar products)
I couldn't find a brand name on this lil' guy! He's super cute though. This little turtle is attached to a suction so that you can adhere it to an activity seat, high chair, or any other clean, flat surface. It makes a rattling noise as it bounces around. I added this to my son's activity seat (it's this, for reference), and he honestly didn't seem super interested. Granted, he's 3.5 months and still feeling out all of the toys that come with the seat. He's also a bit young for the activity seat in general. I'm sure this turtle will have its moment in the coming weeks.
Nature's Baby Organics Diaper Ointment, 3oz - Retail Value $11.79 (found here for $8.54)
We are pretty lucky in that my baby has never had an issue with diaper rash. In fact, I've stopped using diaper cream because it just isn't necessary. That said, this is nice to have on-hand in case we encounter a flare-up. I love that it's all natural, organic, and fragrance-free, and it blended into my skin well when I tested it on the back of my hand.
Goddess Garden Organics Everyday Natural Sunscreen SPF 30, 1oz - Retail Value $3.99 (found here for $3.59)
Another great product to have on-hand! We'll get a ton of use out of this sunscreen once springtime hits, but, for right now, we're enjoying our time mostly indoors. Made in a recyclable container, this sunscreen is 100% biodegradable and the formula is filled with nourishing organic ingredients like aloe vera and sunflower oil. It also provides 40 minutes of water resistance.
Mambino Organics Soothe Me Body Wash & Shampoo, Sample Size (2) - Buy a 5.5oz bottle for $12.95
This mild shampoo is one of the best that I've tried so far. I found it to be very gentle (though it should be noted that it is NOT tear-free), and I love the natural ingredients. It foams easily so that you're able to reach a nourishing lather. Love!
Giggle Sweet Rice Milk Shampoo & Body Wash, .30 oz Sample Size (2) - Buy a 32oz bottle for $12.99 (limited time offer)
Another terrific shampoo and body wash sample. I really appreciate that Healthiest Baby includes options in their boxes! This formula was also incredibly gentle on my son's sensitive skin. It does not lather as the Mambino does, but I enjoy it for a lightly sweeter scented option that IS tear free as well as organic and all natural.
Little Twig Dish Soap & Bottle Wash, Lemon Fresh, 16oz - Retail Value $5.99
This natural, plant-based dish and bottle cleaner smells divine. Seriously, if you like a lemon scent, this soap is fantastic for a little pick-me-up (something that I find I need throughout each day's mundane tasks -- like bottle washing). I've been pumping twice a day recently, and I wash my pump parts with this soap after each session. A little goes a long way, and I have peace of mind knowing that my cleaning method of choice is all natural and completely safe.
Mambino Organics Tippy Toes Calming Baby Oil, 5oz - Retail Value $13.95
Right around the end of month 2, my son began to develop a bit of cradle cap. It was nothing too severe, but the flakes of skin around his hairline were visible. I started to use this oil on his scalp with each bath by lightly massaging it into the skin with a bamboo washcloth. It really seemed to make a difference. He still has a rogue patchy area, but this oil seemed to really help in clearing things up. I also love its natural, herbal scent.
Verdict: 21 Bundles, rebranded as Healthiest Baby, is probably my favorite box to receive each month. Its curated assortment is consistently top-notch, and I adore receiving natural products and organic toys to introduce to my baby as he grows. Basically, the key word here is "natural," and I love it! At $42.99 for the box + shipping, each item averages out to a value of $3.59 (that's including each of the sets of 2 shampoo & body wash samples as one item).

Value Breakdown: This month's box has an estimated value of $79.87, not including the shampoo and body wash samples). Pretty awesome considering the $39.99 box cost (plus $3.00 US shipping). This averages out to you paying approximately $3.59 per item for this particular box (but each 'month' box varies).
