Now, on to the items!

Cle Cosmetics Highlighter Cushion in Glinting Buff – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $30

I still can't believe we get the full-size version of this highlighter!

The highlighter looks beige on the cushion, but it goes on sheer with the most subtle and even shimmer.

To use, you push the puff applicator against the sponge then tap on your cheekbones, the tip of the nose, above the brows, etc.

The end result is FANTASTIC! This is officially my favorite highlighter of all time! If you want a look that gives you a natural, dewy, luminous highlight - I think this will be your favorite new highlighter, too. (Plus the application is pretty much foolproof. No makeup skills needed!)

Juice Beauty Liquid Lip in Gwyneth - .7 ml Value $7.64

(FYI - this is a variant item. Subscribers will either receive this or a full-sized Burts Bees lipstick.)

When I saw this described as a "liquid lip" I mistakenly thought that meant a liquid lipstick. It does not. If you are expecting a long-lasting liquid lipstick, you will be disappointed. But, if you want an ingredient-conscious lip gloss with pigment, I think you'll like it!

Here it is swatched beneath the barely visible highlighter:

It was hard to capture the highlighter in the photo - sorry! It's a subtle highlight that will catch the light beautifully with motion but isn't going to stand out as sparkly/shimmery. (This is great for my everyday makeup, but not great for swatch pictures.)

Tarte tarteist™ lash paint mascara - .15 oz Value $15

I sampled this before thanks to Boxycharm, and I'm a fan! I’d say it’s on par with Lights, Camera, Lashes, (my all time favorite mascara), in terms of length and volume. Personally, I prefer a soft bristle mascara brush over a hard plastic one, so that’s the only reason I still prefer the Lights, Camera, Lashes. It's an A+ mascara formula, though!

Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Minty Mint – FULL SIZE! Value $4.99

SkinFix is another one of my favorite brands (thanks, Target Beauty Box), and I always need a new lip balm, so this is a perfect addition to the box for me.

The formula is a little thinner than some balms, it goes on smoothly, moisturizes, gives your lips a slight sheen, and has a subtle, minty flavor. And on top of all that, it's ingredient-consious!

Youth to the People Age Prevention Superfood Cream - .25 oz Value $6 UPDATE - .5 oz $12 Value (Sorry for the mistake!)

More ingredient-conscious beauty! (I love the packaging, too.)

Doesn't this cream look like it would be so soothing? Well, I can confirm that it is super soothing! Hydrating, lightweight, and absorbs almost instantly, too. There's no added fragrance, and the natural scent is super light and fresh.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $63.63! I thought the January box was my favorite Allure Beauty Box of all time, but this one might take over that title. I cannot repeat enough how fantastic the highlighter is! Everything else in this box is fab, too. I'm so impressed with the brands and samples featured in this box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of 2/19, the Allure website is still showing this box. (Click this link then scroll down. If they are still showing the items in this review, that will be the first box you receive when you sign up.)

Value Breakdown: At $15 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Moonlighter Cushion: $7.07
  • Juice Beauty: $1.80
  • Tarte Mascara: $3.54
  • Skinfix Lip Balm: $1.18
  • Youth to People Cream: $1.41

Does anyone know where the MSA allure March box review is? I’ve never seen them take this long to post a review? They’re usually played by MSA by like the 19th at the latest? My box came last week so I’m surprised there still isn’t a MSA review yet for marchs allure box? Hope it’s coming soon!

Sorry for the delay! Review coming very soon!

I just signed up for Allure. I’ve tried – Birchbox, Ipsy, Sephora Play and now Boxycharm for 2 months. Boxycharm was a disappointment for the money (21/month) and they keep sending us palettes. There is not much variety in the Boxycharm so I like how Allure seems to have a combination of stuff. Are you supposed to get a free gift with the first month?

I just received my February box today. I was very happy to have not received the “Gwyneth” lippie. Instead I received a full size very wearable pink color “Blush” by Burt’s Bees. I also received a small bottle of perfume called Missoni. I’m very pleased with this months variation. It was perfect for me!

Reply ButtonReply

JB

I also got my Feb box today. Had forgotten all about it since we’ve already seen March spoilers for awhile. I do like the Burt’s Bees lipstick more than I would’ve liked the liquid lip variation. Also got the Missoni; nice to get a freebie since we waited so long for the box.

SunnyT

Missoni smells very luxe! I will save it for dressy occasions. I wore the Burt’s bees and personally love the formula! The color is great, and I love that it leans more pink than brown or gray! I will definitely be wearing it lots! I’m pleased! Everything in the box is usable!

JuJu

Yeah, they are definitely recycling their old limited edition boxes – Missoni, I think, was in the travel one.

I finally received my February box today. March 2. This is the second month in a row that I have received my subscription boxes in the next month. Not only that but i still have not received the free box I was told I would receive because my January box only had 3 items in it and not the Sunday Rily. Now the day they have no idea what I’m talking about even though I have the email saying it. What should I do?

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

I just got my shipment email. This is crazy

The Juice Beauty Gwyneth Liquid Lip is pretty nice. Liquid lippies usually feel dry on the lips. I usually top them with gloss, but this one doesn’t need glossed. The berry color is nice too! Not bad at all.

Reply ButtonReply

annika

Love the highlighter, it is the best one I have used so far.

Reply ButtonReply

Bella01

I love the high lighter. I bought 2 today with free shipping

Reply ButtonReply

Mary K

Am I the only one who didn’t like the highlighter? I think it probably works best on warm toned skin. It looked garish on my cool-toned face and I only used a subtle dab. I wish I hadn’t tried it; I could’ve donated it or something.

Reply ButtonReply

LA

Give it to a warm toned friend!

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

With the highlighter weighing about 1/2 the full size, it’s not a full size product or worth $30. That brings the value of this box to around $48.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Cle only has one size available for the essence moonlighter, they do make an essence air cushion foundation that is $49. It’s actually a great product with refills available for the compact.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Yes, you are correct. It does only come in one size. The size listed on their website clearly shows the weight at .42 oz. The one in the Allure box says it weighs .25 oz. I checked before I posted.

M

Love the Youth To The People moisturizer- does any of you wonderful ladies happen to know of a great place to buy it with discount? Least expensive I’ve found so far is $48 for 2 ounces

I still haven’t received February’s box, anyone else?

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

Same. I sent an email last week and just got a tracking number today — no email response, of course. I don’t think they forgot about us, but I’d love to know how they determine who gets what and when. I’m not a new subscriber, but I did just accept the 4 month deal they offered when I tried to cancel (probably in January). Curious to see what will be in my box — if it’s one of those weird end of the month boxes full of leftover odds and ends they’ll definitely be getting a phone call.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

Same here, I emailed them then got tracking a few hours later. I tried to cancel in January also and then went ahead and took the 4 month deal. Their boxes are nice but customer service lacks a lot to be desired.

Kim

I haven’t either!

Reply ButtonReply

Ainur

I also didn’t received my box, I called to customer service, they said I will receive tracking information this week

Reply ButtonReply

Ivonne

I sent them an email yesterday and they sent me tracking info today. It is pretty obvious they had forgotten to send my box. I also inquired about the new subscriber gift which I never got and didn’t receive an answer to that. So far I am happy with the first box I got, which was January’s, but i’m not very impressed with their customer service!

Momo

I haven’t received mine and no shipping notification yet…

Reply ButtonReply

LA

Im in Chicago and subbed over a year ago. I got my tracking on feb 16, but it literally takes a week to get to my post office in Chi and then takes 3-4 more days for delivery… The usps always says they’re behind due to winter storms….

Martha

I did not receive the lip balm. I have emailed customer service but am just curious if anyone else had this issue.
I thought maybe it was a variant, but have seen nothing to indicate that….

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

I’m so torn. I had meant to cancel allure this month, but it slipped my mind. I was not wanting yet another highlighter, but it’s beautiful and one I see myself actually using up. I LOVE the moisturizer, but I’ve been trying to find some decent ones at about half that price point and so far I’m failing miserably. I also love the juice beauty lip color, but it’s so small.
Tarte mascara is always a miss for me and so are lip products so heavy in coconut oil. I’m so torn on whether I feel I got my money’s worth or not 😬 my two favorite products were the smallest.

Reply ButtonReply

LA

I think you will find good, natural inexpensive moisturizers at wholefoods. I really like the dermaE line.

Reply ButtonReply

Mona

Try soap and glory for daily youth moisturizer from ulta/target. it’s my holy grail! very similar to way more expensive stuff

Reply ButtonReply

Beccah

Holy crap! I got the extra item! I got Aerin fragrance collection with five mini perfumes!! Yay! I got everything else too. The burts lipstick instead of the juice beauty. The Aerin collection is worth over $50!! I am not a new subscriber either! Best box ever!!

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

I received it too! I was so excited, they smell wonderful! And I really like the Burts Bees lipstick, such a beautiful nude. Very happy with this box!❤

Reply ButtonReply

rey

Same! I was so stoked to have 6 items!!!!

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

They probably just had a bunch of leftovers from the bridal box.

So I decided to cancel Allure’s box after my having had my box lost and dealing with customer service- and well the March box didn’t appeal to me either. I canceled a week after I was billed for the February box. Well I decided to call them because I still haven’t received my nox as of February 22. They looked in my account and the told me that it was discontinued. Ya it was- a week after the money came out of my account. I had to wait for a supervisor and she couldn’t find that I was to receive the February box! Oh heck no! The person who I talked to about cancelling must have messed something up in my account but after I threw a bit of a stink about it the supervisor said she would be sure that I got the box. I’m expecting to have to call them back in a week. Allure sends nice items but it just is not worth the hassle to me. Here’s to resisting the next deal that comes along.

Reply ButtonReply

Teresa

The box felt light to me this month like it was missing an item.

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

I do love the highlighter but is it really full size? Their website says .42 oz for the highlighter and I think ours are .25 oz. Maybe same size compact but less fluid?

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Wow! No, it’s not full size. I did not notice that! It’s the full sized compact so we can reuse it but it is not really a full size product in the compact. That’s a little sneaky in my opinion.

Reply ButtonReply

AnnaZ

You are right. The package says .25 oz so it not a FULL size.

Reply ButtonReply

Laura

I love the allure boxes! The higighter is gorgeous. I have away the lippie e because I just don’t do the dark and bright colors. I was so anxious to try the moisturizer after reading the reviews! I opened it and “thud”…a tiny jar that I swear to you had maybe 1/8” of cream in the bottom. Would have been more in a foil packet. Ugh. Very disappointing. Love the balm too and tarte is awesome!

Reply ButtonReply

Christina

Loved the box. However, that Juice Beauty lip product did not work for me at all. It feels so grainy on my lips and dried them out terribly. Allure box saved me money because I will likely never purchase any full size products from that line – the lip product was that bad for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Christinat

Agreed! I liked the Gwyneth color a lot but it felt like it turned to sand on my lips. And it tasted gross when I accidentally had a sip of water, forgetting I had lip product on.

Reply ButtonReply

Cris Blanton

Same!! I hated it too. I loved the color but it was drying and felt awful. I tried exfoliating again and moisturizing and then reapplying and it was still bad.

Nikki

Anyone else missing their highlighter? I just got my box, shrink wrapped, no highlighter:( I’m so sad, this is the item I wanted the most. Has this happened to anyone else with this subscription box?? It’s only my second month.

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

Call them immediately, so they can replace it while its still available. AND send them an email.

Reply ButtonReply

Gina

I was disappointed I got the Juice Beauty gloss, would have much rather had the Burts Bees. Also, on the part of the card that holds the mini gloss, it states it is a “free gift”. So I paid for product that was originally intended to be a free sample.

Reply ButtonReply

nicole d

I’ve noticed that happening a bit lately with a few of my subscriptions. Getting products that, on the label of the product say… “free gift” or “we’ve included this free” or “free gift with purchase” or “this is our free gift to you” or some other variation. Its kind of annoying, it makes me feel a little taken advantage of (in some weird way), and put off from ordering any other items from either company. UGH!!!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

The CLE Moonlighter is fabulous! Great packaging and application. I didn’t realize its actually a liquid. Its so cool how you press on the sponge and the product is transferred to the applicator pad. And you don’t need much at all. On my skin tone (fair/medium w/ cool undertones) it appears as a slightly golden highlight, so this will really work well, for me, in the summer. I love the minty lip balm, but I don’t consider it a balm…its thinner than a balm. I use it at night after my lip scrub. I haven’t tried any of the other items yet. SIDENOTE: (regarding the Sunday Riley CEO Serum) I am one of the subscribers that experienced a break out. I now use it solo and exclusively at night. Its too heavy, for me, to use with other products. I originally used it in my morning routine, topped with moisturizer, primer, foundation, etc. After my break-out healed I decided to give CEO another chance. At night, I clean my face and apply the serum ALONE. I do not apply anything on top, it works as I sleep, and I wash it off in the morning. Its working great so far! It is a super star and prefers to work alone…LOL.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

Hey Jill, The CEO is so hi in vitamin C that it’s basically purging your skin. Same thing here. Other subscribers mentioned this could or might happen. For some, it could be an adverse reaction, but for most, it’s trying to clear out your pores. I’ve been using this one to two times per week. I’m in my 40’s and believe it or not, I have some clogged pores and other skin issues. I did not think I would like this and at first, I didn’t. Now, I wish I could afford it. It does not feel good when I first apply it and I do let it set for a few before I add a gentle moisturizer. I do this before bed too. I’m 1/2 way thru this bottle and I can see improvement in the texture and appearance of my skin.

Reply ButtonReply

A friend

Vitamin C doesn’t purge skin. It’s an antioxidant that counteracts free radicals by binding with them so they can’t cause damage. Free radicals are found in the environment during the daytime. You are wasting your money using it at night. An alternative solution is to apply thinner layers of products and wait longer between products so they can absorb. When products start pilling up that is also the result of too much too fast.
Try doing serum, then maybe do your hair, then apply moisturizer (SR CEO may be rich enough for you to use something very light), then get dressed, then go back to face…

Jill

Hi Dawn, thanks for the reply. I’ve been using vitamin C for about a year now. I have always used it in the morning in the form of a serum and have never had an adverse reaction/break out until Sunday Riley. I don’t believe the vitamin C is the culprit. I think the problem is another ingredient in the formula. The consistency is just too heavy. I think the thinner the serum, the better absorption of the vitamin C into the skin. Just my opinion. I’m glad I found a way to use this CEO, b/c I love Sunday Riley products. The packaging is so cute, but the prices are too unreasonable. There are many other Vitamin C serums/essences on the market that are far more superior and more reasonable priced.

Jenn

I absolutely love that highlighter!!!! Probably the best I ever used! I also really enjoy the lip balm.

This was my first month subscribing to this box, and I couldn’t be happier!
I was surprised and delighted to receive the Aerin’s 5 pc. perfume set in my box. And I will be able to use everything else, too, which is great.

I think it’s the new member gift. Congrats!!! Aerin perfumes smell so good.

I received everything above + an extra Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Minty Mint (so a total of 2 in the box)….Go me, it’s my birthday, not fer real, but go anyway!!!
