Benevolent Beauty Box February 2018 Review

Every box includes an info card. The card provides details about each item and the retail values. This month they also attached a booklet from Katherine Cosmetics, one of the brands featured in this box, and a code to get 10% off on their website.

This month’s box features three makeup products and two skin care items. Let’s check it out:

Honeybelle Flora: Organic Rosewater Toner

Honeybelle Flora: Organic Rosewater Toner, 2 oz. - Retail Value $22

This toner came in a cute bottle with beautiful rose petals inside. The toner itself has a light floral scent (which I love!) and water-like consistency. I’m a big fan after just one use! It felt really light, refreshing, and soothing on my skin. The reviews on their website are really positive, so I’m looking forward to seeing pore-tightening and anti-aging benefits from this toner after I finish the bottle.

Jacq’s Organics Nourishing Face Moisturizer

Jacq’s Organics Nourishing Face Moisturizer, 2 oz. - Retail Value $28

I have an oily-combination skin type and I usually prefer lightweight moisturizer - this one hit it out of the park! It has 27 active ingredients, including “a nourishing dose of peptides, fatty acids, and potent herbal extracts” and “a blend of potent roots, an antioxidant cocktail of Vitamins C & E and hydrating Glycerin” yet it absorbed really fast! The light herbal scent is a big plus as well! (It smells like lemongrass to me but I’m not a 100% sure).

I like this moisturizer as much as the one from Moody Sisters I received in July’s Benevolent Beauty Box last year. My only downside for this moisturizer is that I only received about of a bottle 🙁 I can’t get enough of it!

Katherine Cosmetics Eyeliner Solution w/Built-in Brush in Cessna Brown

Katherine Cosmetics Eyeliner Solution w/Built-in Brush in Cessna Brown - Retail Value $26

While flipping through their booklet, I wondered why they didn’t send me a more colorful product (like their eyeshadow palettes or lipsticks) since there are so many pretty products that I would like to try. However, once I tried this eyeliner on, I understand why they sent this one - this eyeliner is an A+++. It went on smoothly and the color is just right. The best part is, despite having oily eyelids that typically cause pencil liners to smudge on me after 4-5 hours, this one didn’t budge - even when I went out in the rain! I got home, looked in the mirror and thought to myself ‘are you kidding me?’ - yes, the color faded a little but EVERYTHING WAS STILL THERE. Did not smudge, did not budge. I highly recommend this eyeliner!

Kismet Cosmetics Liquid Illuminator in Goldie, .33 fl oz. - Retail Value $16

Subscriber will receive either ‘Goldie’, ‘Rosy’, or ‘Toasty’.

Although I have way too many highlighters to be able to use all of them up in my lifetime, I still enjoy the sparkles and glow they gave to my skin (and my life!). This liquid illuminator is intense (in a good way), and easy to blend. I plan to mix it up with my body lotion to add a J.Lo effect to my skin this summer!

Vapour Beauty Aura Multi Use Blush in Crush

Vapour Beauty Aura Multi-Use Blush in Crush, .24 oz. - Retail Value $36

Well… I am a big fan of Vapour Beauty and I already own two of these multi-use blushes. Needless to say that I almost screamed for joy when I received another full-size one in this box! This blush stick can be used on eyes, lips, and cheeks, so I always carry one with me when I travel. It’s also packed with natural ingredients like sunflower seed oil, frankincense, and lotus to help soothe and calm skin. It blended out easily and gave a natural glowing skin look. This sheer pink color matches my natural makeup style perfectly, too.

Here are the swatches of the eyeliner (before and after blended), multi-use blush, and liquid illuminator (before and after blended).

And this is the look I completed with everything I received from Benevolent Beauty Box this month! (I used the multi-stick on my eyes, lips, and cheek.)

The Verdict: The value of this box added up to $128, which is more than 4 times the cost of the box! Benevolent Beauty Box really hit it out of the park for me this month! I love everything in this box and I can’t even pick my favorite! Overall, I think that this box did a great job of curating cruelty-free products, and the majority of the items are vegan as well.

I had a problem with the pump on my moisturizer not working, and contacted Jacq’s directly. They set up a time to speak with me over the phone, and I spoke with Melissa in their customer service department. I also mentioned the fact that my bottle was also less than full, and when I sent a picture, Melissa said she would send me a new bottle. She mentioned there was a problem with their pump filling machine, and some of ours may not have been filled completely. She asked me to tell this group so anyone with a similar situation can contact them for a replacement. What great customer service!

Nice box this month but very disappointed that my 2 oz moisturizer bottle was literally half full.

Hi Nancy and Jira,

My name is Melissa Brown and I’m the Customer Service Manager with Jacq’s. It was just brought to my attention that you received a half-filled bottle of our Nourishing Face Moisturizer in the Benevolent Beauty Box.

We’ve been having issues with our bottle filler machine adding too much air into the bottles. I will be more than happy to place replacement moisturizer filled to capacity in the mail. We apologize.

Please email me directly at [email protected]. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you, ladies.

Melissa Brown.

I received this month’s box after taking a short break, and was so happy I resubscribed! Mostly it was because of the toner and moisturizer, but I’m very pleased with the makeup. Love having a blender and pencil in one! Their customer service is always fabulous. Thanks for your terrific review!

Fantastic review for an amazing Benevolent Beauty Box! Every brand is new to me this month, and I love how products are full-size. My Jacq’s moisturizer was also 2/3 full, I am wondering if that was their plan for BB. The eyeliner and multi use blush were fun to try new discoveries.

When I saw the first photo, I wasn’t wowed, but after reading your great review, I wanted this box so much I just emailed their CS to see if they have any Feb boxes left if I subscribe today.

Jira

I felt the same way before I tried all the products. BBB is very underrated sometimes!

They do have boxes left. I received an e-mail about February’s box reveal and it said you can buy this box separately. Go to their “Shop” area on their website. 🙂

Me too! Glad you love it!

Darn. I gifted that multi-use stick. All I saw was “cheek” and assumed it was a blush stick, which I don’t use since I only use powder blushes. Oh well… I’ll try to remember it’s good for lips too if I ever get it again. 🙂
