February 2018 Loot Crate Review - Protect

The February 2018 Loot Crate featured items from 5 franchises - Black Panther, Fallout, Pacific Rim, The Expanse, and How To Train Your Dragon.

2 things to note about the presentation - the box inversion is back, and the booklet is now digital-only. If those cuts get me the box on time, then I can live with it! If you miss the booklet - you can find a digital version here.

Yay! The box inversion is back. Sometimes, it's the little things for me. The "Protect" box turns into a vault.

They've stuck with the more basic card. You'll be able to see everything in your box but without any Loot Crate character.

Toothless Pin - Value $5?

This month's pin features my personal favorite dragon - Toothless!

You'll get some digital bonus items this month as well. 3 issues of Black Panther on Comixology and unlock Black Panther in Marvel Puzzle Quest.

Black Panther Shirt - Value $15?

This month's shirt features the latest Marvel Universe installment - Black Panther!

It's an exclusive shirt with design by Chris Visions. I love the black-on-black look of this.

The Expanse Rocinante Ship Replica - Value $20?

The one in-house Loot Crate item for the month is a replica of the Rocinante from The Expanse.

The Expanse is a show that I've had on my list to give a shot for a while. I like the little details in the sculpt, though, especially the translucent blue booster flame.

Pacific Rim Coaster Set - Value $10-15?

The next item in the box is a set of faux-leather coasters featuring Pacific Rim.

They're thin and bendable with a cork bottom. These will definitely last.

Fallout 4 Art Print - Value $10?

The final piece of this box is an art print featuring Fallout 4. The print arrives rolled up in a protective tube - but it isn't on any quality cardstock - it's just normal paper, really.

The back also includes a little discount on Fallout Crate.

Verdict: My favorite items in the box were the shirt and pin, hands down. I like the little replica ship - but having not watched the Expanse, I don't have any ties to the show (yet). Overall, the value is definitely there for this box - and it arrived on time - which I was super excited about until I just got the email that the February Loot Wear won't ship until mid-April. Ugh.

I typically like the items and the digital extras as a Comixology reader - but you're going to have to be alright with delays if you plan on subscribing.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, You'll see the current them on the landing page - theme cutoffs are the 19th of each month at midnight EST.

COUPON - Save 10% off any length subscription, or $3 off month-to-month with coupon code ADDICTION or SAVE3

Nice review.
Do you play Marvel Puzzle Quest? If not, is that a code you can or would share?
