January 2018 'Boss Battle' Loot Gaming Review
The 'Boss Battle' theme features Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Earthworm Jim - what a lineup!
This is the January box - and just arrived, so it's late again. Loot Crate is having a ton of issues shipping their crates on time - beware of that if you're looking to get a crate on time!
The box inverts into the Green Hill Zone of Sonic! Oh, the memories.
You'll get a large fold-out information sheet.
One side features a 28x22 poster - this month features the Green Hill Zone once again!
The reverse side will walk you through the items in the crate.
Chaos Emerald Pin - Value $5?
Best. Pin. Ever. There are 7 different Chaos Emerald pins - I got the green version. I can remember playing through those darn bonus levels so many times in my youth to get ALL of the emeralds!
Conker's Badr Fur Day Shirt - Value $15?
N64 gets a little callout with the monthly shirt - it features Conker and his numerous enemies.
Dr. Eggman Vinyl Figure - Value $25?
I'm absolutely loving this figure from Loot Gaming - it is now easily my favorite Loot Crate made figure I've received!
It comes with Eggman and a platform.
You can sit him on the ground, or use the little clear stand to have him fly in the air.
This looked like the best paintwork and detail of their vinyl figures, yet.
As a Sonic fan - I couldn't be happier. The best part? It goes perfectly with my Kidrobot Green Hill Zone Sonic figure!
Earthworm Jim Lunchbox - Value $10-15?
This was the most disappointing item in the box for me. As a MASSIVE Earthworm Jim fan (I still play the cartridge every once in a while), I had high hopes when I heard it was a featured franchise. Unfortunately, a lunchbox was a let down for me, personally.
It features the cover art and is enough room to carry your lunch or maybe some gaming accessories? I'll have to find a better use for this.
Super Mario Power Up Coasters - Value $15?
The last items feature four power-ups from Super Mario World.
We've received a lot of coasters over the years of reviewing geeky boxes, so I was super excited. But, I've ended up liking these quite a bit more than coasters in past boxes.
Everything just pops! On top of that, these are cork or cardboard, but an acrylic - which gives it that glossy pop that I am loving, and will last a long time.
Verdict: If the Earthworm Jim item had been a figure or something like that, I'd easily claim that this is my favorite delivery yet. Still, I can't get over how great the figure, pin, and coasters are this month - so it's definitely up there with my favorite deliveries.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No - they're currently taking orders for the February 2018 box. You'll have until the 27th of each month to get that month's theme!
