Loved + Blessed January 2018 Review

This month’s Loved + Blessed theme is “Reflection.”

There is a theme card that’s on the inside of the front lid of the box.

Mini Poster

This month’s mini poster has “Mirror what you admire,” and on the back of the mini-poster it says “be a reflection of what you’d like to see in others.” A good reminder for me to be a reflection of positivity and encouragement.

Reminder Sticker

The reminder sticker says, “hello beautiful” a lovely reminder for me as I face the day.

Scripture Card

Scripture Card

This month’s scripture comes from 2 Corinthians 3:18 NASB:

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Cosmetic Bag

Cosmetic Bag

Cosmetic Bag

Cosmetic Bag - Estimated Value $10.00

This metallic washable paper cosmetic bag with natural wrinkles has “beautiful, loved + blessed” on the front of the bag. I know the bag is meant to have a distressed look to it, but it looks cheap. I would have preferred to have only “beautiful” on the front and not added the subscription box name. I don’t like when subscription boxes include products in their boxes that have their logo or name attached. This subscription box has included products with their name attached to the item many times, while its great advertisement, not everyone wants a product with a subscription box name on it. What if I wanted to gift it to someone?

Encouragement Kit

Loved + Blessed include an Encouragement Kit with every subscription box. I love the idea of an encouragement kit. It is meant to be passed on to a stranger or as an encouragement for someone I know. The encouragement kit this month is a pop-up card in their signature pink color. The front of the card says, “be encouraged” on the back of the card it has the subscription box name, their motto, and their website.

Here’s the inside of the pop-up card, and the front of the envelope mentions the love + blessed website.

This pop-up card is a welcome change from their standard scripture cards, mini posters, and blank note cards included in the encouragement kit. The creativity of a pop-up card is a nice change from the standard greeting cards. I don’t like the added verbiage of the website and name of the subscription on the card. Once again, it's too much, maybe it’s meant as an outreach to whomever I give the encouragement kit to and a way for them to be encouraged beyond the kit.

Here’s a close up of the scripture card that is in the envelope of the pop-up card. The scripture comes from Psalm 61:3-4 NKJV:

For you have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.

And underneath the scripture, it says, “Selah” which means doubtful, some interpret as meaning silence, or pause. It's also an “expression frequently occurring in the Psalms, thought to be a liturgical or musical direction.”

Verdict: This month’s box was not favorable. The main item (the cosmetic case) in this month’s box looked cheap, it may appeal to other subscribers, but it didn’t interest me. I’m sure I will put it to use or may pass on to a friend or add to the encouragement kit. This box does deliver on encouraging my soul and sending products that represent their theme and their color and design for the overall box has been lovely, but they need to step up their game with their main product that reflects their monthly theme. The last few months have been lackluster, so hopefully, next month will be better. This month’s box, in my opinion, is not worth $19.99.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, order by the 21st of each month to get the next month's box. If you sign up today, you will receive the March box.

And finally an honest review.

Honestly if I received the bag as a gift I wouldn’t question what was written on it, as a logo or brand. That said this box was $20. for a cheap bag.

It seems very light on value. Just a bunch of cards, paper and mini-posters plastered with their brand all over it, and a cheap makeup bag that Ipsy and Macys give away (nicer ones, too!) for free each month. It’s more like a complimentary bag you’d get a MLM-style sales pitch party.
