Pinup in a Pack January 2018 Review
The invoice has contact info if I have any questions on my box and shows me as a reoccurring order. It is a pretty standard invoice.
Rhinestone and Green Pom Pom Earrings (Retail Value Unavailable, Similar Available on eBay)
When I unboxed this month’s Pinup In a Pack, I was thrilled to see the selections included. I was especially pleased to see I got the green variety instead of the yellow I saw other subscribers receiving. Then, I realized that one of my pompom earrings had come undone. I photographed the items exactly as received as shown above. The good news is I was able to fix these easily with a pair of needle nose pliers! Good thing I used to make jewelry as a hobby, right? These earrings are too cute not to fix. I love them because they are quirky, yet glamorous--- kind of like me! The pom poms are the perfect emerald green shade. The crystals add a touch of glitz, but sadly they aren’t secured very well in these earring settings. I foresee having to repair these again in the future. Fingers crossed I am wrong!
Clear Green Retro Cat Eye Sunglasses (Retail Value Unavailable, Similar Available on eBay)
I don’t know if you could call these sunglasses since they really are more decorative, but I am digging them either way! When I wear these, I feel like the love child of Poison Ivy from the Cramps and Captain Sensible of the Damned! Or at the very least a guest star on Pee Wee’s Playhouse! Maybe Miss Yvonne’s wild child cousin that comes over to hang with Pee Wee and the gang. I am imagining me and the crew singing an educational parody of a Shangri La song. A girl can dream, right? I wore these paired with a dress from CHC Vintage to add to the retro sass. These glasses are rather light and easy to wear, but if you are looking for a functional pair of sunglasses I would wear with caution; I doubt they will protect your eyes properly! I would suggest wearing these indoors, at night, and on gloomy days (which we have plenty of out here this time of year in the Tundra!).
Creamsicle Stretch Bracelet (Retail Value Unavailable, Similar Found on eBay)
This bracelet makes me want to blast the song “Here Comes the Summer” by The Undertones on this terribly cold snowy winter day. It looks like a big bowl of orange, lime, and lemon sherbet! I just want to go to a pool party and eat hot dogs looking at this cute bracelet. The beauty of this tiled bracelet is that it is linked to an elastic chord making it adjustable to a variety of wrist sizes. I can foresee getting a lot of wear from this one in the warmer weather months for sure!
Verdict: This January box’s selections may be my favorite yet from Pinup In a Pack! Granted, the one earring was not in one piece upon receiving it, but I was able to easily fix it myself. If you run into this matter with Pinup In a Pack, they are very accommodating and are willing to send replacements like they did for me a few reviews back. They not only sent me a replacement pair, but also an additional pair for the trouble. I just opted not to reach out to them since it was an easy fix for me. Other than that issue, this box was fantastic! The pieces are adorable and I know I will get a ton of use out of each of the accessories included.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the January box is not available, but you can find similar pieces at Pinup in a Pack. They actually have a yellow version of the glasses sent to me on their site at this time. Also, you can sign up for the February box now!
Value Breakdown: This box is $19.99 and that includes free shipping. Three items are included in each box making their estimated value around $6.66 each. I found a similar pair of pompom earrings for $7.99, glasses at $2.15, and bracelet at $14.99 on eBay. Those three things total $25.13 which exceeds the $19.99 I paid for my Pinup In a Pack box!
