They sure are sticking to their story that this sauce pot is a fodue pot!

Here is the email response I got from Robb Vices when I expressed my suspicions about EH creating a new product page just a few days ago… I also asked why Robb Vices deletes legitimate customer questions on their Instagram page…

“Thank you for reaching out. We assure you, the fondue pot we included in the February box is a new item that should have been on their website months ago. They simply took their time adding it to their catalog. We are not trying to pass off old stock as something it is not. Any comments that have been deleted are because they are spreading false information, not because of any other reason.”

I got my box yesterday. The pot is beautiful and worked well to make fondue but it didn’t stay hot long enough for two people to enjoy hot, melty cheese. Definitely got cold half way through. A burner would have been nice. Now I’ll have to buy one. Would have been cheaper to order the actual fondue set.

Allison

I wanted a fondue pot. Not a sauce pan.

For the $125 price they quoted it was not unreasonable for us to expect it would include a burner.

I feel like such a chump for letting RV back into my life. =(

I just tried to login to cancel my account and am getting an error message that the URL is not found. Anyone else having trouble?

I ordered this on the 6th with the guarantee that I would get it by Valentine’s Day. That’s only 2 days away and I don’t see any shipping information for it yet. Anybody else in the same situation? And what exactly are they offering by their guarantee? I am so disappointed to learn it’s not a classic fondue pot with a stand – I just want to cancel it now – late and misleading.

I just hope that we can all enjoy some hot chocolate fondue with a loved one, or at least re-gift it come x-mas or mothers day and be a hero =D

Just came here to say that the fondue set linked is not the exact one subscribers will receive – it’s a 1 quart crock with four forks and no burner or stand, valued at $125. I know it was just a guess on Liz’s part, so that’s why I wanted to clarify for people who are just seeing this.

thomas

Its interesting they value the crock an 4 forks at $125 when on the Emile Henry website they have a complete fondue set w/burner and 6 forks for $125

Susan

Exactly this. Why would anyone purchase a one quart sauce pan with four forks to use for fondue when you can get an actual 2.5 quart fondue pot with burner and six forks for the same price? Why doesn’t EH stand behind their new fondue/sauce pot and actually sell it to their customers?! So shady.

carey

@liz it says on the emile site that this is a exclusive with robb vices. You might wanna check that all out. see melow

Here are the instructions for using this “pot thingee”. I was so close to ordering it too just for the fondue and would have been so upset. Anyways, here it is:

Traditionally, the cheese fondue has always been made in a ceramic pot, which has been rubbed with garlic beforehand. Prepare your fondue in the kitchen, then bring it to the table. The ceramic will gently diffuse the heat and keep it hot for the duration of the meal. The fondue pot can be used for chocolate as well. Our fondue pot works on the stovetop, in the oven, on a charcoal/ ceramic/ gas grill, in the microwave, and is dishwasher safe. Includes a set of 4 forks. All Emile Henry products are made in France and offer a ten years guarantee. This item was exclusively created for Robb Vices customers only. If you are interested in this item, please call our customer Service and we will connect you with Robb Vices.

Here’s the thing about that, though. When Robb vices spoiled that there was a fondue pot, the only one listed on the Emile Henry site was the one that Liz had linked In the post. It wasn’t until people started receiving their boxes and found that it did not contain the linked fondue pot that things started getting shady. A couple people ran the UPC code on the sticker on the sauce pot they received and discovered that it was actually a $40 ceramic saucepan from a few years ago. The image that pulled up matched what was received. It wasn’t until they reached out to Robb Vices and Emile Henry that it all of a sudden showed up on the Emile Henry website as an exclusive collaboration. Shady as heck and very misleading. Especially for those who signed up thinking that we were getting the $130 fondue pot that they listed on their website.

This is actually what we all received in our boxes confirmed by the UPC sticker code on the bottom of the item. After reading other people’s correspondence I am so disappointed and just sad with how both robb vices and Emile Henry has handled this. I don’t mind being given an old product, but don’t lie and call it something it isn’t and treat us like we are stupid. I have spent over 1,500 on Emile Henry cookware and I seriously considering not purchasing another piece.

Susan

The pot that was spoiled on the forum is actually a 1 quart sauce pot hence the spout on the side. It’s not an actual fondue pot. I would be livid if I had signed up for this box expecting an actual fondue set.

Nicole

Wait I would have skipped this month had I known it doesn’t come with a burner! How am I supposed to use it !!?????

Laurie

Yea that was a bait and switch. I’m def cancelling after this.

Laurie

I actually prefer the smaller size but no stand and no burner is pretty disappointing. How are we supposed to use it?

I love cheese. I love melted cheese on anything. But I will never understand the appeal of fondue pots. It’s a mess. I don’t like to dip stuff in a communal cheese pot. Idk. It’s just super dated 70s thing I wish was left there lol

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

I wasn’t around in the 70s. Fondue reminds me of Switzerland. I agree it is messy, but it’s totally fun and yummy. I’m looking forward to it, especially strawberries dipped in chocolate.

Cat

I should note I see the value there for people, not knocking the box. But I literally would never do fondue as a fun thing.

See item number 3 the one sent was just in the red color pattern.

http://www.emilehenryusa.com/catalog/Emile-Henry-Grilling2014.pdf

Robb vices needs to make this right and send an actual fondue set/pot with burner or modify the box to make it about sauces and provide ingredients. This is not the first time for them and it is getting a little beyond crazy especially considering their email specifically said fondue pot and they mailed out a sauce item with the UPC sticker on the bottom.

Just very sad and disappointed because I can’t even buy a stand for this if I wanted to much less they placed a false retail value.

Julie

But it’s so much cheaper to convince Emile Henry to just delete the evidence! Because screen shots aren’t a thing…

Please also add the UPC code sent with the item and the correct link to your post.

They did not send a fondue pot.

Anna

Awww man TISTHESEASON is no longer a working promo code 🙁

Ana

This coupon code is not working for me. I tried it last night and this morning and it keeps saying “coupon is not active.”

Ruch

I just tried the coupon code on trying to buy a mostly membership.. it said the coupon code is not active… was it for a different membership length?

Marissa

A $130 fondue set, chocolate, and more!? Happy vday to me! And the ale will be enjoyed by family and friends for sure. Mine should arrive tomorrow according to fedex

Liz

I wish! They sent a $50 sauce pan from 2014 and simply called it a fondue pot.

If you look it up using the UPC on the sticker at the bottom of the “pot” that comes in your package you will see all the information.

Totally fraudulent and misleading.

I am very sad and just wanted a fondue pot.

Is it just my phone or does a 90.00 box have two places with no space between words and a capital for candle?

Reply ButtonReply

Virginia

At least nothing is misspelled. It is atrocious how poorly information on the web is misspelled, grammatically incorrect and use of wrong tense. Both by companies and individuals. Sorry, one of my pet peeves. Need to go now. Have to proof at least five times so there are no mistakes.

Reply ButtonReply

Beka

Nope, it’s not just your phone! “At the “— missing a space, and “candle” is capitalized. You are indeed correct.
