Stylogic Plus Clothing January 2018 Review

Stylogic January 2018 letter

This is the note I received from my stylist, Alice. She always puts a lot of thought into what she selects for me! She talks about what she chose and how to style everything in this note.

Stylogic January 2018 invoice

This is the invoice that was included in my box, showing the cost of each item that I decide to keep. The reverse side of the invoice includes important reminders for trying on and (maybe) returning the items you were sent.

When I signed up, I had to complete a style quiz to create my style profile. It included sizes, but also what kinds of looks I prefer, how I like my clothes to fit, and whether I am looking for work, event, or travel clothing. I did notice that casual was not an option, but I have received plenty of casual clothes so far. In any case, I would expect items to vary substantially from subscriber to subscriber.

Autumn Wine Short Sleeve Lace Dress by Sharagano

Autumn Wine Short Sleeve Lace Dress by Sharagano - Cost to keep $95

I love this dress! I love the rich color and the machine lace overlay. It's so pretty! It has a nice polyester lining, too. I also have an event coming up - the Mother/Son Ball at my sons' school - and I think this dress would be absolutely perfect to wear!

Black Premium Legging by Torrid - Cost to keep $25

These are great, basic, cotton-blend leggings. They are comfortable and completely opaque. The cost is also quite reasonable.

Faux Leather Bomber Jacket

Faux Leather Bomber Jacket - Cost to keep $70

Alice was right, this is totally edgy! I like this modern take on the classic bomber jacket, and I especially like that it has a collar. It's like a mix between a moto and bomber style. I also appreciate the slightly cropped length, but I'm afraid it might be just a hair too short for me. Here's a picture of me contemplating whether or not I can pull this look off:

Bell Sleeve Blouse by Violet + Claire

Bell Sleeve Blouse by Violet + Claire - Cost to keep $60

My husband really liked this chiffon blouse. You can tell from the picture that him saying that already made me feel a lot prettier! It's a good quality, and I think it's worth the price. And you already know I love the bell sleeves and open neckline!

Mid Rise Skinny Jeans - Cost to keep $50

These jeans are super soft and have a good amount of stretch thanks to a generous spandex content. Despite that, they still have kind of an awkward fit on me, being oddly loose in the seat. That never happens to me! They are a great price, I just wish they fit better.

The Verdict: This was another great box from Stylogic! One thing I really like about Stylogic is that they seem to be very independent of brands and stores. I feel like I get something completely different almost every time, and I like that. I appreciate the fact that Stylogic usually sends pieces that are reasonably priced, too. This month I really like the dress and blouse, and you can't go wrong with a good pair of black leggings. I am a big fan of Stylogic!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stylogic curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $25 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the 5 items inside is $300 and an average of $60 per item. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep anything, the $25 cost of the box would be applied to the purchase and if you keep all five items, an additional 20% discount would also be applied.

The red lace dress looks great on you but don’t wear them with the leggings. It doesn’t look right.

The red lace dress looks great on you but don’t wear them with the leggings. It doesn’t look right. If you don’t want bare legs wear tights but heavy leggings ruin the airy light feel of the dress. It’s not a tunic.

Thanks Lisa!

ANNA, as I commented on your last Stylogic review, Stylogic does NOT do price matching. (and they seemed peeved that I had expected it based on the info obtained on this site)

Having said that, the dress is beautiful on you and you should definitely keep it with Valentine’s Day coming up. It’s also the perfect holiday party dress and the color is perfect on you!

Thanks Maddie. I thought I corrected that, but I will make sure in the future. Apologies!

Amy

Now, this was a great box for you.

You look great in every piece. The jacket is definitely not too short; it fits correctly. And the bell sleeves of that top hit at just the right spot. I’d keep everything and maybe try to shrink the jeans or sell them on eBay.

Agreed!

Good thinking AmyM! Thank you!

You look fabulous in everything!

Awww, thanks Eileen!

If you are keeping everything but the jeans…and I think you should…keeping the jeans would save you 60 bucks on the total since you kept all the items. So the jeans cost you negative ten bucks.

You can always gift or donate them.

Anna

Thank you for doing the math, Garfield! And thanks for the nice compliment!

I absolutely love that dress on you! I thought it was a great color and very flattering. I hope you kept it!

Anna

Thanks Amber! I plan to!

Not that they don’t look lovely on you, they do, but I’ve found that stylogic’s approach to their plus size boxes are similar to the style advice for bigger girls back in the way which is basically hide your shape at all costs in things that are oversized and don’t really fit correctly. That jacket is the best fitting thing I’ve seen and even that could be better fitted. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, I just don’t think they cater as well to the bigger girls as they do to the smaller ones.

Maybe we are looking at different clothes but I definitely don’t sense that with tgis particular set of clothes.

*Day, not way lol

Anna

Thanks Tea. I have never really thought of it that way, but you might have a point.

Love that blouse on you – the sleeves are just the right length! I also think you can rock that jacket, it’s not too short at all.
