BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. It’s one of our favorite subscription boxes – our dog loves it, and we’ve gifted it to dogs in our extended family as well!

BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the small size (our dog weighs 14 pounds). Check out Ragan's most recent review of the super chewer box!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

March 2018 Barkbox Review

The March 2018 BarkBox Subscription Box was themed: The Academy of Fine Arfs! Your box will differ - ours included soft toys, treats, and a chew!

They always include a card. On here, you'll see variations of toys your pup could have received - accompanied, typically, by some type of social media contest.

Buckles is ready to deliver the verdict.

La Artista Squirrelista - Value $12

Our first toy is an aspiring painter squirrel, because why not?

The plush body is full of crinkly paper, while the tail houses the squeaker.

Buckles played with this for a little bit - while it's recommended for small to medium dogs, this is slightly outside of the size that our dog really loves - no worries, Penelope loved it!

Paint Tube - Value $10

To my surprise, this was the easy favorite of all dogs received in dog boxes this month!

The paint tub toy is a combo of t-shirt rope and plush - with a squeaker, of course!

When our photo shoot was done, I laid out all of the toys he had just played with and told him to take his favorite. He grabbed the paint tube and ran up two flights of stairs to keep it in my office! He loves it.

The Great Wave Treats - Value $8

The first of two bags of treats were made of fish and cheese.

These are on the soft side for a treat - which suits our dog.

Here's more information from the Barkshop:

Made in the USA with all-natural ingredients, we promise there is nothing fishy in these treats… except the American-sourced whitefish that's the number one ingredient.

Small, crunchy morsels are perfect for smaller dogs or as a reward during walks or training sessions.

Look at that determination! Like most treats, he likes these.

Masterpiece Morsels - Value $12

Like the first bag of treats - these are also crunchy, but on the softer side of crunchy.

Each treat is shaped like a fruit or vegetable.

Here's more information from the Barkshop:

American-sourced lamb is mixed with hearty potato, apples, and bananas, to create a delectable flavor profile without any corn, wheat, or soy. Crunchy rounds make for a mess-free treat, and can be broken in half for smaller dogs.

These are easy to portion control, too - Buckles is taking such determined photos this month!

Lamb Weasand - Value $4

The final product is a lamb chew. Buckles doesn't eat these chews, so there aren't any cute pictures.

Here are the details from their store:

Sourced entirely from the USA, these lamb twists from Superior Farms are a wholesome, filler-free snack for your pup. Super-chewy and super-satisfying, they’re great for dogs of all sizes and ages. Serve whole, or broken up in little pieces during a walk or training session.

Verdict: I love that we keep replenishing Buckles treat supply each month - while we don't ever run low thanks to subscription boxes, it's nice to have a little variety for him when he's deserving of a treat - which is basically all the time because he's so cute. He's been loving the toys lately as well - all of the adds up to a winner each month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Customer care let us know that your first box will now always be either their Welcome Box or the current month's box, followed by the the normal schedule the following month.

Such a cute review and I must say those toys have to be my favorite yet, so much detail! I can see why Buckles ran off with the paint tube!

The toys from BarkBox are always so impressive! We get the medium box for our 10 lb Yorkiepoo and our 30 lb chow-cocker mix (the little guy will play with bigger toys, but tiny toys are not safe for a bigger dog). We got a painters palette with at least 5 squeakers AND crinkles (the Yorkiepoo is in HEAVEN) and we got a squirrel version of Bob Ross (famous for painting the “friendly trees”). Not sure why the painter says are squirrels, but who cares?? They’re adorable, punny, and the dogs LOVE them!!!!

I’m not even so much interested in this box. My girls are bigguns and can’t even have a super chewer box. They ate a Kong the other day so toys are not happening anymore.

I just come to see cute, tiny Buckles playing with his stuff!

Buckles is so adorable.
I have to admit the lamb esophagus is gross but my dog would love it. I like Bark Box and may have to resubscibe the toys and treats are usually a little tougher than Pet Treaters.
