Bulu Box March 2018 Review
There isn’t a theme for Bulu Box and there is some personalization involved, so the contents are usually a surprise:
Because of the variations with this subscription, there’s not a traditional information card listing the items.
There are also usually some coupons and/or product literature with this subscription. They don’t always relate to the items in the box.
Dayclear Pain Reliever, 1 dose/57 ml – Buy a 12-pack for $10
This is choline salicylate (related to aspirin, which is acetylsalicylic acid) and caffeine. So don’t take it late at night, and don’t give it to kids under 12 (risk of Reye syndrome). I am not sold on taking medicine as shots instead of just swallowing pills (we got another shot, of a sleep aid, last month), especially as this tastes pretty foul, but if you have trouble swallowing, I guess this could help. You could also mix it with something else to make it taste better.
Vegetarian Traveler Garbanzo and Soy Medle, 35 g – Buy 12 Packets for $23.99
This is a vegan way to add protein to a meal. It is not really seasoned other than with salt, but because it’s made up of beans, it is going to work best in something savory. Like, you could put this over a salad or soup. I got this in a food subscription recently and ate it with some riced cauliflower that came in the same box, and that was almost enough for a meal. So that’s another way to have it. Do be forewarned, the beans are a little on the hard/crunchy side.
A different flavor of this came in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month.
Synodrin Arthritis and Muscle Relief Gel, 2 oz – Buy 4 oz for $19.95 (found here for $17.95)
This brand must be doing a big advertising push because we got some products from them last month, as well. I didn’t find this to have a huge effect on me, but I have gotten to the point where very few topical pain relief products work for me, personally. Your mileage may vary. I do appreciate getting a decent-sized sample so you can actually judge your response to it over time.
This item was also in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month.
Sunbutter, 1.1 oz – Buy 6, 16-ounce jars for $29.99
This is sunflower seed butter and it tastes exactly like you’d expect (i.e., that you processed sunflower seeds to smoothness). This item is a subscription box mainstay; I’ve received it numerous times before. I will probably stick with regular peanut butter, but this could work for kids who go to peanut-free schools.

Goodwipes in Lavender, 1 wipe – Buy a box of 10 for $9.99
I’ve received these in fitness subscription boxes before. I hoard them; there have been a few times in recent memory when I’ve been prevented from taking a shower for one reason or another, and they really come in handy then. I like that this is individually wrapped; although it results in more packaging, the wipes don’t dry out! It is not the same as taking a shower, but it is definitely better than nothing.

Eco Nuts Baby Laundry Powder, 1 oz – Retail Value $1.50
This is a low-sudsing laundry detergent powder that is supposed to be safe for cloth diapers. I’m not really able to test that aspect of things since I don’t have kids. After trying it, I’m reminded of why I like liquid laundry detergents better (no clumping). It does seem decent for sensitive skin.
Verdict: There were six items in this month’s Bulu Box. How much value to assign to each depends on how much you paid for the box. If you paid full price, they average out to $1.67 apiece. I got in on a $5 for life deal, so the average cost per item is $0.83 for me. (use code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for life!) From my perspective, the individual item values were generally above $1, so I feel like I got a good deal this month. I think I was happiest to receive the food samples since both were vegetarian, and overall, I’d say this box is pretty representative of what types of items you will see from this subscription.
I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB599 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two. Please also note that instead of getting points you can redeem for merchandise if you review your samples, now you get sweepstakes entries, which isn’t as good of a deal (unless you are the winner…).
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, April would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.
Coupon - Use our coupon code MYSUB599 to get your subscription at $5.99 per month, for the lifetime of the subscription!
Value Breakdown: At $10 for the box, you are paying about $1.67 per item. If you got the $5 for life deal, you’re paying about $0.83 per item.
