CHC Vintage Accessories February 2018 Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
80s Scarf Necklace
Initially seeing this piece, I thought of Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club. The style is very preppy 80s to me. Heck, I am even getting some Melanie Griffith in Working Girl vibes as well. The great thing about this necklace is that it is adjustable; you simply tie it as loosely or tightly as you prefer. The gold horn charm also has faux alligator skin on it for a unique detail. I wore this necklace with a black mock turtleneck dress from my latest Shoedazzle review (soon to come!) and a bulk, rust cardigan that brings out the cognac faux alligator skin detail. That would look great with a scoop neck shirt and blazer in the office or in the evening with the same scoop neck, but ditch the blazer for a biker jacket for a chic rock’n’roller look.
She’s My Cherry Pie Ring, Size 7.5
This aged gold and brass-toned ring has a basket weave-like design. It immediately made me think of the latticework on a pie. The ring is a piece that can be styled in various ways alone or paired with multiple rings to enhance each other. It wasn’t my favorite in the box this month, but my photographer (aka my boyfriend) absolutely loved this ring!
Donatella Earrings
These earrings made me think of the disco era with how the gold chains reflect the light like a disco ball. I couldn’t help but imagine Bianca Jagger riding into Studio 54 on a white horse. They are that variety of playful frivolity. The earrings also made me think of the always golden and opulent, Donatella Versace. These dangly post earrings consist of a diamond shaped wire with different length gold chains soldered on that cascade down for a dramatic effect. These would look fantastic with a sequin cocktail dress or would add sassy flare to a vintage t-shirt paired with tight, skinny leg, jeans.
Sheer Nylon Leopard Print Scarf
I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect leopard print scarf. I have a few in varying lengths. This one is fantastic because the length is perfect for wearing around my neck comfortably, but also could be worn tied in a bow in one’s hair. I styled this classically with a sleeveless mock turtleneck dress and booties, but this scarf would look amazing with a t-shirt and jeans, a button-down dress shirt and slacks, or around the neck with a scoop neck top, crushed velvet skater skirt, and knee-high go-go boots for a retro late 60s inspired look.
On the Prowl Handbag
This is my favorite piece in the box this month! Can you blame me? I love leopard print and items with big cats like tigers and panthers (which is pretty ironic since I am supremely allergic to kitty cats), so I was ecstatic to see this purse! This bag looks tiny, but it opens up to have two separate sections. It has a gold chain strap to match the gorgeous rhinestone spotted leopard. This handbag will pair PURRfectly with a variety of outfits ranging from casual to formal making it a phenomenal value.
Verdict: My second CHC Vintage Accessory box is a hit! I truly appreciate Nicole and her team’s constant attention to detail. Their selections are always immensely personalized and extremely thoughtful. The purse, leopard print scarf, and gold earrings are my favorite pieces this month and I can foresee wearing all three together frequently. $55 dollars is a fair price for five accessories generally, but it is an extraordinary value for such a tailored service. I can’t suggest CHC Vintage enough!
